Naruto easily because it has the best animation/story. Bleach was up there at one point (namely ulquiorra/pantera dude) those fights were superb. But filler killed the series, the manga is in a terrible state right now.
One piece is just good fun to watch but the animation isn't as good and the story is meandering right now.
Dammit when is Attack on Titan series 2 gonna be ready.
Okay people we get it, you don't think any or all of the "Big 3" are the best or most popular anime/manga. The term is used because, regardless of your opinion of their quality, almost everyone knows what "Big 3" is referring to.
OP is the only one that hasn't lost its charm over the years. Yeah, there may be some shitty sagas, but everything can't be good all the time, no series is perfect.
The other two have more downs that ups, especially Bleach and the ineptitude of Kubo. He has a very obnoxius way of writing and panelling, with entire chapters dedicated to a single fucking slash from a stupid vice that no one cares about. No wonder the anime kept catching up and they had to create filler after filler till the audience had enough and had to cancel the whole thing. Hell, I didn't follow the anime (dropped it after the Bountou bullshit), but I wouldn't be surprised if there were more filler sagas than actual canon ones.
Naruto is great, but Sasucrist is the worst fucking thing in the history of everything. It's a pity, because Naruto sustained itself pre-skip thanks to the side characters, the protagonist was bad as balls: two techniques, uncontrollable fox bursts, obnoxious behaviour... then after the time skip he got all Goku and awesome and I really liked him, but there goes all down the toilet thanks to the ass/eyepulling of the Sauce. Every time you forget he exists, there he appears again to shatter our bubble and to asspull some bullshit victory again. How amazing would be this series without this guy.

first season and first two or three volumes of the manga are great. it's like a martial arts version of mason ikkoku with its bittersweet and melancholy moments. the series lost that though whenever it became, as you said, all about the poor jokes.
A combined span of 21 years that YuYu Hakusho, Slam Dunk, and Dragon Ball were being published.
Of course their avg. sales per volume are going to far exceed those of Bleach, One Piece and Naruto. They weren't out as long.
But you do realize how long the Big 3 has been published right?
A combined 42 years... And still ongoing.
That is historic.
Even BLEACH, the youngest of the 3, has been published for longer than Dragon Ball was.
I gave One Piece a chance. A genuine chance and it let me down. 65 episodes I watched of that show and I just got tired of it.
I don't follow the manga/anime of any of these shows anymore by the way. The Naruto Shuppuden series let me down so fucking hard I couldn't go on anymore and after the whole Aizen thing concluded in Bleach I was just done with it.
I have no interest in long shows like this anymore. 12/26 ep anime or nothing for me. Berserk is the only manga I keep up with consistently anymore too.
I have had a real falling out with Japan over the past several years. Their video games and anime/manga just fell off so bad. The magic they once had is damn near all but gone. Or maybe I just got older and simply tired of it? I don't know.

I used to follow the 3 almost religiously.
I've stopped following Bleach altogether, everything after Soul Society was mediocre. With Naruto I only read the manga sporadically but it's more because some sort of sense of obligation.
That being said, One Piece is an amazing story that offers continual and constant enjoyment.
Okay. I unfortunately have to agree with this 85% of the time.
So, let me explain my stance on the Big 3.
I started watching Bleach back in 2006. I had watched anime at the time (i.e Dragon Ball/Z, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon) but had never really considered myself a true fan until I fell in love with Bleach's first 2 arcs. I continued to watch Bleach all the way up to the beginning of the current arc.
It saddens me to say that Kubo is the downfall of Bleach's former supremacy.
Plot holes, the refusal to kill off protagonists, zero backgrounds and character model recycle are some of the main reasons for this, in my opinion.
It's a shame because Bleach brought me into the anime/manga world, but that's all it is to me now... An entrance into something bigger and better.
Next was Naruto. I always bashed on people that watched it because of American advertising's depiction of the main protagonist. They made him seem way too goofy and not to be taken serious. Luckily I gained up the motivation to watch the anime and instantly fell in love with the world. Even the characters. Orochimaru was awesome. Making him a serpent only made even more sense.
My stance on the series is not far off from my original impression.
If anything, I'll be sad to see it end. Especially since the conclusion is upon us.
Now for One Piece. First off, it freaked me out to begin an anime/manga series that already had 600+ chapters, but I had so many people recommend it that I could not avoid it any longer.
Thank the stars that I entered this world.
One Piece is magical in the way that it never fails to entertain.
I believe that the Sanji Recruitment Arc started to make me realize just how different this series really was in comparison to others.
Than the Nami Recruitment Arc confirmed my feelings for the series.
I love this series. It never fails to make me laugh, cry or surprise me.
The art style is so unique. Oda took such a risk to break the mold with his character models and I'm glad he did. Great character development, beautiful, vast and mysterious world, superb action elements and a great story.
I love how each character has a role on the team and a long-term goal.
And Oda isn't afraid to kill the good guys.
That's integral, in my opinion.
It's a touch of reality, even if the series is a work of fiction... In any world, the good guys do NOT always win.
So, if I had to rank them it would be One Piece>Naruto>Bleach.
And I will love each in their own individual way for as long as I live
I will preface I am not very knowledgeable of the anime scene. I've tried watching the big 3 a while back, but I just couldn't get into them. Maybe it was a mix of the animation, the plots, the characters, I don't know.
But Attack on Titan pulled me back in, and then I got hooked on Hunter X Hunter. Godamn, HxH is so damn good to me. Everything about it has drawn me in. The VA's, the plots, arcs, the animation, the art/designs, the music. I love it all.
Right now I just care about HxH, AoT, and strangely enough, I loved Servant x Service, though it's not an ongoing I think.
I might attempt to get back into One Piece. I don't feel a draw back to Bleach or Naruto.
While I am here, what the other good shonen anime? I am ignorant what is out there.
Out of those 3, my favorite is clearly One Piece. But it really hasn't been that great since the time skip - my favorite arc is still Water 7/ Ennies Lobby, by far. Also, the anime is terribly paced.
Bleach was perhaps my favorite at the beginning, I really loved the anime, but after 50 or so episodes, when the fillers arcs begun, I lost my interest. I started reading th e manga, but I don't really enjoy it. I haven't dropped it simply because it generally only takes a couple of minutes to read. I like the art, when it exists...
Naruto is my least favorite of the three. I watched the first part of the anime (haven't touched Shippuden), but this is the only case in which I started the manga before the anime. I dropped it during this ninja war arc, I couldn't stand it anymore, it was too convoluted to read.
Check out Hajime no Ippo. It's not the typical fantasy style shonen, and the subject matter might be weird at first, but it's one of the best shonen out there. Some of the fights in that show are amazing.
Well my avatar tells you which one I prefer the most.
Bleach is #1 imho.
One Piece is 2nd while Naruto is 3rd out of the big 3.
In terms of anime its the same except Naruto is shockingly better than OP in anime. I blame shitty anime team that OP has though the filler Naruto has makes it shit anyways.
The Bleach anime shits on those 2 pretty hard when it was ongoing in OST and Fillers.
Really if anyone loves One Piece for the grand sense of adventure and the world building then you should really check out Toriko. Those two aspects of Toriko surpass One Piece IMO, overall though it doesn't reach OP when it was at its apex.

I'm just gonna chime in quick and agree that Hajime no Ippo is a really great show. What impressed me is there's no real bad guy in the series, just people with different motivations who fight in the ring. Also the fights are grounded in real boxing moves and strategy (but still obviously stylized), so it makes for some tense fights. It's an uplifting show about a young guy really challenging himself and dedicating himself to something.
Wouldn't really call them the big 3 anymore, but of those choices, I'd have to pic One Piece. It's the most consistent of the 3 by far, which is incredibly impressive given its length.
Naruto part 1 and Bleach to the end of Soul Society are pretty great too, though.
Man I just gotta say as someone who's been a fan of HxH (manga) for like seven years seeing all of these people suddenly bringing it up in every anime thread nowdays is awesome
In Jump itself, there are so many better series than Bleach and Naruto.
Toriko, Assassination Classroom, Shokugeki no Soma, and Hunter x Hunter (which is now approaching TWO YEARS of hiatus... god damn it Togashi). I've also heard good things about Kuroko's Basketball and Gintama.
Outside of Jump there's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, One-Punch Man, Kingdom, History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, and of course Attack on Titan.
If anyone has read Negima, don't read UQ Holder yet. It may be a sequel, but it's soooooo boring.
I'd say One Piece >>>>> Naruto >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Bleach
I just can't stand it in animes when the protagonist seemingly gets random new powers when backed into a corner, which is why I don't like Bleach. The poster relating it to the old Tom and Jerry scene where each one would bring out a bigger gun was spot on.
Naruto is pretty good from what I've seen so far. Right now I'm at
Kisume just killed himself
. I wish they would go somewhere with the shipping (I actually like that stuff). I mean
Hinata confessed her love for Naruto, yet they didn't even talk about it afterwards. Like wtf
. Can someone explain to me why people seem to hate the post-timeskip stuff? Especially with the end of the Pain arc or w/e. I didn't see anything wrong with it...
I will say that my favourite thing about Naruto are the fights. Sure, the animation is wonky in a lot of the more intense fights, but I just love how the fights are more strategic, and less about dumb, arbitrary super powers (like in Bleach)
One Piece has had a consistent level of quality with very few low points, the Amazon Lily arc being the only one I can think of off the top of my head. The world building continues to get better, and it's constantly built upon itself for this long without collapsing under its own weight or becoming overly convoluted. It feels more coherent than it ever has, and Oda is great at teasing events, characters, places and ideas long before they happen. And he always delivers on those teases tenfold. Not to mention that every character has a purpose and their moments in the sun.
Naruto has some very high highs, but sometimes dips into lackluster territory. Some of the arcs are pretty questionable - the Shinobi World War was an obvious excuse to bring back already dead characters and see them fight the present day characters, which makes for some awesome character interaction and some great fights, but still feels like a forced and unnatural way to introduce them back into the series. Kabuto's history seemed a little unbelievable and even inconsistent with what we've heard about him already, and it wasn't as heart wrenching as it was meant to be because it felt so... awkward. On the other hand, Itachi's backstory is excellent, the characters and their techniques remain consistently fascinating, and the story seems to be heading uphill again since
Madara's revelation about the true history of the world and the Sage of the Six Paths
.
Bleach was amazing, but it peaked way too early, back in Soul Society. Hueco Mundo was a repeat of that with less interesting villains and a less interesting setting, and since then it has been a consistently mediocre series. The writing can get pretty bad, too.
why does everyone think the first two arcs in bleach are the best? I'm not going to try and prove you wrong, but I'm curious as to why people think that. I've already said it in this thread, but I thought the best arc in Bleach was the fight against the Espada.
I don't follow the anime versions of any of the 3 options, although I did watch Naruto until right before the filler festival.
My order of preference would be One Piece> Naruto> Bleach.
Starting with Bleach, I really liked it on its beginning. It had a lot of style, cool characters and an interesting plot. When I reached the end of the Soul Society Arc I was in full hype mode and just stormed through a lot of its chapters. Then, when I reached the Hueco Mundo Arc I wasn't really liking it very much, it seemed that everything was slower, they were never reaching Aizen and I was getting bored.
Chapter after chapter my level of interest in the series was going down. When the battle between Ichigo and Aizen finally started I was already bored but I got excited again. Shame on me because, imo, that battle sucked hard. Then the Fullbringer arc was also awful and I felt that I was reading a filler in manga form. This Quincy Arc is not any better and I'm only reading this series because I want to see where it goes.
As for Naruto, I also really liked it. Until Naruto VS Sasuke everything was awesome. After that, when "shippuden" began, I felt that it wasn't the same thing but it was cool enough for me.
Then, we had a bajillion chapters focused on Sasuke and his dumb friends and I almost dropped the manga there. I also hated Sasuke VS Itachi and wasn't really liking the series anymore... Until the Pain Arc started, which I loved. After that, Naruto has been some sort of roller-coaster ride for me, some parts I love, others I hate. I wouldn't say that Naruto is bad but I feel like Kishimoto got a little lost on what story he wanted to tell.
With One Piece, I followed an inverse path from the others series above: I hated it at first and I could really not understand how this was "the second coming of Dragon Ball". I only started to really enjoy One Piece after the Giants' Island (name?).
One Piece is cool and all and what amazes me more is that it maintains a fairly high level of storytelling. While there arcs that I love (Water 7) there are others that I don't like so much (Fishman Island) but never I though that I hated it (except the beginning). I don't think that it's THE BEST SHOUNEN EVER MADE but it's certainly better than the other two.
For me the "big ones" are Jojo and Hiatus X Hiatus

This seems to be a fairly consistent claim, along with the opinion that Naruto went downhill after Shippuden started. (Which I strongly disagree with)
I think it's because of the age range of many of the viewers. They were 13-15/16 or so and then grew up and became less interested in the typical shonen fare that the big three represent.
I do think Soul Society is just 100x more interesting than Hueco Mundo, though. It felt like it had some serious substance to it besides "fight this organization, rescue girl, kill big bad guy." The whole subplot with Aizen's "murder" and the lead-up to Gin's reveal as the villain, the internal strife between the shinigami happening at the same time as Ichigo and co.'s invasion, Aizen's eventual revelation as the true villain, the shinigami's techniques and personalities just being generally more appealing than the weird, monster-like Arrancar... it had more there to grip you.
Hueco Mundo wasn't terrible, but there were much fewer instances of good storytelling. The fight against Ulquiorra felt much more vapid than the fight against Byakuya because Ulquiorra, like the rest of the Arrancar, felt like an empty character because he was an emotionless monster instead of a complicated human being (or shinigami, I guess, if you want to make that distinction). His techniques were really cool, and the fight itself was really fun to watch/read, but the underlying reasons behind it, and the relationship between Ulquiorra and Ichigo, fell a bit flat. I'd like to extend this reasoning to the other Arrancar fights, as well.
Fake Karakura Town did show off the shinigami who didn't get to fight during Soul Society, but other than that it felt pretty boring. The biggest highlights of that arc were
Gin's plot to kill Aizen, Tousen being an evil bastard,
and seeing Ukitake fight. Aizen felt way too overpowered. Even Frieza got a couple beatdowns by Gohan, Piccolo, and Vegeta before Goku beat him, but nobody seemed to do anything substantial to Aizen until the very end. Because of that, he made quite a few characters get the shaft and seem much weaker than they should have... Shinji and
Gin
being two I can remember off the top of my head.
I will say that the Vizard Flashback arc was really interesting, and probably up there with Soul Society in terms of the amount of stuff going on/interesting characters.
