Announced Gamepass Titles for 2023

Hopefully a few sleeper hits like As Dusk Falls and High on Life were this year.
Finished the final chapter of that last night with my partner we loved it :)

I intially ignored it, due to the art style, but it grew on me throughout.

The titles annouced already are insane.

Personal highlights/games I'd buy day one:
MH: Rise
Atomic Heart
Wo Long
Tokyo Ghostwire
Redfall
Starfield
Forza Motorsport
Flintlock
Darktide
Replaced
Lies of P
Guilty Gear Strive
Ni No Kuni 2
Eiyuden Chronicle
The Last Case of Benedict Fox
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (I'll play this with my partner)

I have hard copies of some of the games above already preordered, but others I'll nab a hard copy for if I enjoy them/on sale down the line for the shelf.

Sadly Rise is digital only, hopefully it gets a retail release with sunbreak later in the year.

My only concern next year is, time.

I just don't have the time or the ability to keep up with game pass games or retail only games.

I need to win the lottery so I can retire & fund a jet set radio future port.

Age of Empires are already on gamepass. I played that a few days ago. Also seen Persona on it already.

Looking forward to Stalker 2, but I'll end up just buying it.

Games like Pigeon Simulator seem like filler games just so they have quantity.

Won't complain, though. Gamepass is an excellent extra/bonus from time to time to find that hidden pearl or a place to try something you aren't sure wether you like it or not.

Was just about to buy Guilty Gear Strive, I'll hold off on that then.

Considering all the stuff they added through the year, this is not even half of what they are gonna add.

Wo Long, Starfield, Forza Motorsport, Atomic Heart, Monster Hunter Rise, Strive, there is some serious meat on that menu.

And it needs to be because Game Pass needs growth.

AoE is referring to the console ports and P5R is only GP currently but not 3 and 4 so depending on your situation you can take a couple out of the list.

Number of games for me (ones that I will have a decent chance of 'finishing'): 22

Persona 3 & 4 - Jan 19th
Inkulinati (game preview) - Jan 31st
Atomic Heart - Feb 21st
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty - March 3rd
Redfall
Forza Motorsport
Starfield
Thirsty Suitors
Hollow Knight: Silksong
Cocoon
Replaced
Planet of Lana
Ravenlok
The Last Case of Benedict Fox
BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle Special Edition
Guilty Gear -Strive-
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes
Solar Ash
Maquette
The Big Con

Decent list. Sadly I think whenever stalker 2 appears in these lists tho it should have a pretty big asterisk. The game is on indefinite pause due to the war, and several of their devs have already died in the fighting. There's a not insignificant chance that the game will never be finished.

Is the whole wait until next year mantra finally coming true?

I see a lot of games that are going to consume many hours of my time on that list

2023 is loaded

Makes me love my Rewards points even more. All those games, cash price....

Doubt Stalker 2 is coming next year
Not just doubt. It might not even release at all.
The game has bad luck. Middle of war, some of their devs dying due to war, and the families of those devs at risk of war.

There are tons of issues that is out of their control.

That's one hell of a list already. And in reality it's a fraction of what we'll end up getting through the year.

Just out of that list, I'll be playing:

  • Monster Hunter Rise
  • Atomic Heart
  • Wo Long
  • Ghostwire Tokyo
  • Goldeneye
  • Minecraft Legends
  • Redfall
  • Forza Motorsport
  • Starfield
  • Hot Wheels Unleashed
  • Routine
  • Hollow Knight: Silksong
  • Cocoon
  • Replaced
  • Planet of Lana
  • Ravenlok
  • The Last Case of Benedict Fox
  • Solar Ash

All for ~$40 for the year. Just an insane, stupid value.

Replaced still surprises me to this day. The 2.5D just fits and the environment is spot on, and game play looks great.

These all apply to the PC gamepass to right? I don't understand how it makes sense financially to release Starfield and Redfall on gamepass on day 1 but happy to take advantage.

Somebody please check with Sony and the FTC if this is even legal. We as gamers may need more protection here.

That list is madness.

My back log grows by the day but I did enjoy high on life so much was one of the few games I finished in 2022
