Some more rambling thoughts on Anthem
-Man I don't know what's going on with the PS4(Pro) version of the game. Terrible framerates. To the point I actually quit. I'm probably going to take an
extended vacation from the game until Bioware(hopefully) gets the game patched up pretty good. I think the recent patch for the game on PS4 may
have made performance worst.
-As for the PC version-only paid $15 for a month of Premiere and have now cancelled(but good until the end of March). Obviously, the PC version is the
best version(looks and runs beautiful on my Nvidia RTX 2080 Founders Edition and Dell G-Sync 2k 165hz monitor)
I'm pulling for Bioware, I really am. There's a solid foundation for the game here but it needs to be expanded upon dramatically. There are fundamental things
that should be in a "looter shooter" yet Anthem doesn't have them. I think the game could have used another solid year of development, that's how "undercooked" I
feel it is at this point.
-Way pointing (can be frustrating navigating the map trying to go back and find a world event or enemy when you can't click on it).
-Switching weapons and loadouts on the fly.
-Not seeing actual loot until *after* the mission/freeplay.
-No big splash screens announcing new "live" events in game.
-Tethering system HAS TO GO. Horrible, horrible idea. Bioware's answer to raise the count down timer to give you more time to "group up" is still crap.
If a player "Leeroy Jenkins" and goes off on their own, let them deal with the risk/reward. Destiny doesn't tether you to squad mates in strikes/missions.
-New play areas need to be opened soon. Again, the limited biome of overgrown forests and some ruins is getting old very quickly.
-Make the loading screens dynamic. Not static pictures. Something like Destiny does with your ship flying into a mission/planet(well disguised loading)
Perhaps just show your Javelin flying through the air or in a tunnel or something.
-Loot needs to be made more VIBRANT and EXCITING. Perhaps have the loot "pulsate" and when you pick it up, find out immediately what you get
with an animated reveal screen, again following what Destiny does when you get loot drops.
