Anyone got the feeling that MS is going to drop the next XBOX next year?

It just appears that they are further along with their plan than what we were initially told. I maybe wrong but there is too much information out for this thing to be 2 years out. Per reports, the hardware has already been finalized.

There's so much info coming out because they don't want people thinking they are leaving the market. With all these changes they are making they are having to reassure people they are still in the game.

Also apparently the Xbox/PC exactly like the Asus Ally handheld but in a desktop is coming next year but not the console that is 2027.

I think they'll put it out when it's ready. Personally, I don't see it needed next year at all. Already stacked with Fable, Gears, Halo, Clockwork Revolution that we know of. They still get most 3rd party stuff, and a lot of titles are Play Anywhere. Also getting FFVII next year, and GTA 6, and on and on. The year is stacked.

I think they might announce it next year or get a bit more detailed, but release in 2027. And the longer they wait the better really since it's designed to last through the whole PS6 generation.

To me, at the moment, it seems like it would not make sense to release it.

I think I depends how many units the portable system sells.

They can launch it when they want to or when it's ready. It doesn't particularly matter, just like it doesn't matter exactly when Valve launches their Steam Machine.

That's not to say that nobody wants those, but rather that they don't need to adjust their timing based on what Sony does.

I think they would love to have it ready for their 25th anniversary but sounds like it slipped to 2027
Yep. But if they're doing a portfolio of devices, then they don't need to release everything at once, I expect staggering the releases one per quarter in 2027.

Like an Xbox Console in November, but an Xbox Handheld in Summer, Xbox PC soon after etc.

Consoles stopped being exciting after the PS360.

I dunno, man. I have a PC and I was still pretty excited to pick up my PS5, PS5 Pro, and Switch 2.

Heck, even the Xbox Series X was fun, until it became obsolete for me.

To answer the thread question, I wouldn't be surprised to see a new Xbox next year in one form or another. Especially with GTA VI coming out. It wouldn't be a bad idea to take advantage of that timing.

It will bomb harder than Sega's last efforts. Difference is Sega was just a game publisher that still made some amazing games for its final console.
Hell hath no fury like a former Xbox fanboy...or fangirl? Scorned.

Why would a Gaming PC bomb harder than Sega, in a market where over 90 million Windows devices are sold every quarter?

It feels like they HAVE to. The Series is selling abysmal, and the longer they wait the more irrelevant Xbox becomes.

But, then again, the new "console" looks to just be a PC they are calling an "Xbox", like they call a Rog ALLY an Xbox, so it doesn't matter. The console Xbox is dead

They are fine consoles, don't get me wrong. But it terms of being excited ? We are very far from the excitement of the 16 and 32 bits consoles. And also DC/Xbox/GC.

Oh they'll drop the Xbox alright; don't you worry.

Since they are not subsidizing consoles anymore and as a result the price is speculated to be 1000£+ or thereabouts, would be interesting to see the number of units they have available at launch.

Can't imagine anymore than 1 million and that's being extremely optimistic.

Cool cool, I can see where you're coming from.

It definitely isn't the same as those generations. Especially since we don't see that leap in technology anymore.

Microsoft paid bots are so funny. Why would PC gamers pay 1200 $ for this thing? Remember you can't even make local accounts on a Xbox, you have to make a Microsoft account. It is not full Windows 11, can't be used like a PC. Only people buying it are diehard Microsoft fanatics.

Historically, the first person who talked about Xbox publicly,

Xbox Bill Gates
Xbox 360 Elijah Wood
Xbox One Peter Molyneaux with IGN
Xbox Series Phil Spencer

I could see it happening. At the end of the day we're talking about a PC with the chips to run Series S / X games (and older) right? And realistically, there wouldn't be any issue of waiting for the games to be ready to launch because all the games will be designed to run on PC and Series S / X anyway. And they already have some modified version of windows in the wild on the Asus handhelds. What else is there to do beyond form factor it?

Better is question is "who the fuck cares?,"because I know I don't.
This, I wish they never entered the space at this point - all they've done in retrospect is overpay for husk studios riding off old ass engines built by people who left as soon as the writing was on the wall, infiltration of identity politic parasites etc.

This needs to be on the market as soon as possible.

So I'm sure M$ will screw it up and it will be like holidays 2027 or something.

It is urgent to get out because they need relevant fully stocked hardware on the market to maintain mindshare.

Anything else keeps sending the message Xbox is dead. It's on repeat until they put something out that is actually competitive and interesting. Every day between now and then they lose mindshare so it needs to be urgent. Nobody will argue that M$ doesn't need to move with some urgency here.

Whatever the case, I'm more curious to see the Steam hardware surveys that show this. I know Steam has a good chunk of people playing on lower end to mid range hardware. Will be interesting to see how much or little the next Xbox is represented there.

Is the amount of people on this forum not capable of understanding the fundamental difference between what Magnus is and represents and an off the shelf APU that is in the ROG Ally X...truly this large, or is this thinly veiled console warring under the guise of ignorance?
