They won't be releasing a 6c. The 5c experiment failed - they didn't get higher sales over those that could have been achieved by just carrying on selling the 5.

I am in the US. I just didn't have the means to upgrade until this year and the 5 and 5s didn't make me want to upgrade immediately.

I'm jealous of the folks upgrading from a 4S. Upgrade should be massive. I've been updating every year since the 4, and the improvements are incremental. But I tend to do good resale wise to make it worth it.

I know people who are still on the 4. Some people just don’t care enough or use it enough to want to upgrade frequently. Meanwhile, I see them using it and the app launch times and keyboard lag would be enough for me to throw the phone into a river.

My mom still has a 4. And isn't even sure whether or not she wants to upgrade. I think a 5C or whatever replaces it will be perfect. As long as it's a small screen. She says she likes her little screen. But it's so cramped so I showed her my 5C.

I really want a 6S+ even though I still haven't used a Plus in person yet. I should go to a Best Buy or something.

It would make sense. They'd replace the current 5C with the same device with maybe slightly different design but the internals of a 6. Same thing they did with the 5C. If anything, new colors and better specs. 64-bit and everything.

well, theoretically, they could / should just cram in the 5S internals into the 5C shell.
then we'd have our 3 tiers again, with the "C" at the entry price (free on contract?)
5C (with 5S hardware) < 6 < 6S

The naming would be somewhat weird, though.
5CS? 5SC?

I don*t think they're going to shove the internals of the 6 into a plastic shell until next year.
