Apple’s Fall iPhone Event To Be Held Sept. 9

I'm always most nervous about my iPhone breaking or getting lost around this time of year. Like what do I do? Do I live without a phone until the new one comes out? Do I buy a shitty burner phone until the new one? Do I suck it up and get the current/about-to-be-old model?

I found it funny that with the recent Apple.com redesign, it's actually quite difficult to find an Apple TV if you want to read about or buy one. I assume this is temporary before they replace it this fall, but still hilarious.

That SHOULD be temporary, since internally Apple TV is considered one of Apple's "hero products," and ready for a big push instead of being some side-project like it used to be

That's what I would do: just grab an inexpensive Android that lets me limp along for a month or two. You can get a Moto E for under $100, and it's not bad at all (I use it for app testing). If you're not picky, you can find something that's unlocked for about half that. I know Amazon has a BLU for under $60, and -- depending on your carrier -- I've seen some okay phones at Best Buy for about $20, from time to time.

Anyway, in such a hypothetical case, that's what I'd do.

Will upgrade from 6 plus to 6s plus, if the 2gb ram is true.

I upgraded from iPad Air to iPad Air 2 and the difference with the extra ram is huge. No reloading tabs and no freezing every so often.

The 6 plus is frustrating as I get all the above a lot. Very frustrating when you writing a post on a forum.

Just saw that they're going to be allowing Windows 10 users to watch the conference. That's great because I love watching them present and last time I tried to use VLC it kept freezing.

Reloading tabs on even on an iPad Air are a thing of the past with content blockers coming to iOS 9. I installed the PB3 on my Air 2 and did the same for a friend at work today after showing him how much faster and less resourceful Safari is with ad block on.

Will show on iPhones as well and with the nice side effect that you use less of your monthly data as well. Having only 1.5GB I certainly appreciate that.

I'm likely going to switch to the 6s,been using my Samsung Galaxy S5 since it came out, but lately it's been having tons of little annoying issues.

I've basically just decided that, provided I have the money, I'm just going to upgrade my phone every year. I want to be on the cutting edge

Upgrading my tablet every year remains to be seen. I bought an iPad Air 2 with the intention of only using it until the new one came out (that's the reason I only got the 16GB, which is currently hamstringing me) so I hope that's a worthy jump as well

Laptop I'm not upgrading every year, that's insane

Watch, we'll see. I could see myself doing constant Watch upgrades as well

My contract with Verizon is up in October. Might still stick with them but I will more than likely be getting whatever they show in the event. Won't bother getting the bigger size if they do that again.

Look forward to seeing it though. My 5S is still running fine but I want that bigger screen.

Phone 6S rumors: iOS 9 code indicates Force Touch keyboard gestures,
As we approach the iPhone event, with invites very likely to go out to press shortly, we have more iPhone 6S rumors to discuss. Firstly, Hamza Sood has once again peeked into the iOS 9 source code and found references to ‘deep press’ gestures. This seems to confirm the existence of Force Touch in the new iPhones, which at this point is no surprise. Force Touch is widely assumed to be coming to all of the new iPhones and iPads Apple will announce this year. 9to5Mac reported that Force Touch will be used for various things across the OS: Sood found the Force Touch code reference in text selection code and appears to mean that a Force Touch gesture will activate the keyboard trackpad scrolling … a new feature for iPads in iOS 9.

Well that explains why the feature disappeared from the iPhones in iOS9b3... Is Apple really going to restrict the feature to iPhone 6s only? :(

Is anybody still using the default Apple keyboard or have you found a thirdparty keyboard you like?

I'm most excited to see what the new Apple TV is like. A lot of top Apple people have been working on it and it seems like it's been kept too quiet for Gurman to find out very much.

Depending on how my money situation is this fall, though, I'll very possibly pick up an iPad Air 3.

To be fair, they only showcased it for the iPad at WWDC. It showed up in b1 and b2 for iPhone so everyone was excited.
Still it's weird to remove a feature only to make it exclusive to their latest model. It doesn't even require ForceTouch to implement it, no iPad has ForceTouch as far as I know.

Please have some sort of magnesium frame/support inside. The worst part of the 6 aside from it's serious lack of RAM is the horrendous build quality of those frames. I think just about every single iPhone 6/6+ I have fixed had some sort of frame related damage.

Goodbye iPhone 4S, hello iPhone 6S

Only if there is 2Go RAM and a first model with 32Go[/U][/B] and not 16Go !
That's not going to happen. The margins are too good on the higher storage models and when people are willing to still pay the price they have no reason to change anything. Not to mention if 32GB's becomes the base less people will even bother with 64GB's (I know I'd stay at 32GB).

Hi Lima! How do I turn on ad block with iOS9? Do I need some additional software? Or is it just flipping a switch?

Probably going to pay off the $300 or so dollars left on my iPhone 6 to upgrade to a 6S. Not that I NEED a new phone, but having more than 16gb would be cool and a new phone is always sick. Will probaly change carriers too since Sprint's service sucks asshole. Not even worth the unlimited data I get when anything other than LTE is unusable.

Can't get excited anymore because of Verizon's new BS plans.
Verizon IB is no different than Verizon Edge. In fact it's more often than not cheaper than the Edge plan.

Unless you're talking about 2 year contracts going away, then that's too bad. For the longest time everyone talked about how much they hated being in a contract and how it was bullshit, then T-Mobile axed them and everyone flocked to them. Now that all carriers got rid of them for good, everyone wants them back. Smh.

Everybody wants contracts back because carriers ended contracts and switched to monthly payments for phones, but they've only increased the prices of their plans. I can't help but shake my head at anybody not understanding that.

No Sapphire Crystal? What the fuck, Apple? Let those of us who are willing to shill out the extra cash buy a more durable product. I don't want to put a case on my fucking phone.

Baffling that there isn't a $999 "iPhone Pro" model with Saphhire Crystal and 2GB RAM/128GB HD as the standard. If the watch has shown them anything it's that people will pay extra for a higher quality product.

I really hate that the two-finger selection still isn't on iPhone. Especially with how difficult and time consuming and annoying and clusterfucky it is to delete large portions of text when trying to post a reply on this forum and you only want to quote a tiny part of a large post without accidentally erasing the QUOTE tags or the text you want to quote. Moving those blue bars is so hard when you need to scroll up or down far and a lot of the time they slip and go to the wrong position or cancel themselves out abruptly.

We need to be able to select each one and move it individually on the iPhone either with the gesture they removed (Which will hopefully at least come to the 5"+ sizes) or arrow buttons to fine tune it.

And it's still a shame we'll have to go one more year with 16GB as the base. But hopefully the RAM isn't skimped on this time.
