Do you really think they will kill him off before he gets to Obi Wan Kenobi the fuck out of Ollie?
It kinda appears like they never saw eachother again after that.
EDIT: thinking about it more though I guess somebody had to train him.

Well, I'm sure he'll train him till he meets his end on the island. I mean, Ollie is wearing his clothes in the Pilot when he's rescued.
But I haven't seen the episode, so I don't know what's happened between him and Deathstroke.

Random, but 14mins into the episode when they're talking in the room with their lawyers, off camera someone's windows machine did the error ping.
One of those awkward things only someone with really good hearing picks up, points it out and his girlfriend looks at him like he's crazy.

I honestly do not know how to feel about the direction they are taking Queen.
I mean, I heavily enjoyed how this episode was a direct response to him deciding to kill people, and how at the end, he made a decision of what kind of hero he is going to be.
But ultimately, I think it is the wrong move. It makes him an anti-hero.

I think he fits the hero persona, while he's less convincing when playing the playboy part. I do like his island scenes, because he does act noticably different there.
Was going to post the exact same thing, honestly they could have just made this show about him on the island and I would have watched it.

Maybe if they continue with the plot arc of killing being wrong.
What the hell is so compelling about a guy killing people with arrows? There's a reason why it works with Walter White. Somehow, I don't think Arrow is a show about a guys fall from grace.

He kills the henchmen, but never his "target". He killed Deadshot.
And he very obviously killed the main bad dude at the end of this ep.
I just can't get behind a comic book hero that kills people, either selectively or willy-nilly.
Eh don't know that for sure, although yeah that made it seem that way... seemed odd as the guy hadn't done anything special. And also he shot the henchmen in the shoulders and shit. Pretty sure the only confirmed dead are the guys who kidnapped him in the beginning.
My thoughts exactly. I think he can act but his repertoire is rather limited and while I think he does a good job of playing the whole "emotionally crippled on the inside" part of the role, he can't seem to grasp the playboy part that well. I get the impression that the actor himself is not exactly a party animal and he looks awkward when trying to be one.
I also don't think Arrow has killed much. Lately he's just harming those who are in the way (ie. by shooting them in the shoulder) but not outright killing them.

Give them a few seasons to run out of ideas and I'm sure superpowers will come into it.
Come on. All the scenes with Walter and Mrs Queen together and separately were great. At the very least they handled that subplot nicely.
It's fiction, who gives a shit? I don't understand why so many people have trouble adjusting their moral compass just to watch a stupid TV show about a guy in a green hoodie. TV is full of compelling anti heroes that kill people. Vic Mackey, Tony Soprano, Dexter, etc. It's a TV show. The guys he kill aren't real people and they aren't really dead in real life! So Arrow is more Punisher than a standard DC goody two shoes hero in this, big deal.
I hope Walter ends up helping Oliver down the road. He seems like a good guy. Odds are he's getting killed though
I've never heard of two black sidekicks happening before. There must be some union reg that prevents it. Things aren't looking good for Walt.

Walter White is a villain though, Arrow is just hero who goes to extreme measures, both kill people, but the difference is obvious and both characters are nothing alike.
Also..it's very hard to find any truly heroic figure in real world who isn't a killer.

Episode 5 was pretty awesome. Still loving the pace on this show.

Just caught up on 'Damaged'. Great episode. The more I watch the series, the more I realize that Ammell (Oliver) is actually doing a really good job at his role. He's great on the Island and he really plays the damaged anti-hero very well. I think he deserves more credit, he's doing a great job.
Moving on, great episode. I think this is the first episode where Laurel and Oliver actually weren't... cardboard. I mean, it wasn't great, but it wasn't grating. But then at the very end, we had that dumb "Oh, this is never meant to be" after Oliver pretty much spilled his guts out. God Lauren, you are just terrible. It's okay, Ollie. Huntress is coming. Speaking of coming, I loved Ollie's joke about the party theme, "Come before Oliver gets Off".
Also, this was also the first episode where Blackthorne wasn't in the midst of a manic-depressive episode in an up mood. He was pretty good here. Kinda liked the moment at the end where Lauren comes to get him from the bar and the little head nod he gives to Ollie.
Yao Fein (I think that's his name, but I'll just keep calling him Chinese Island Guy) continues to be The Best. So before the Island, he was a military officer in the Chinese Army, huh? I wonder how he wound up here. And who's the European (?) paramilitary guy who is in command of Deathstroke? Is he a DC character?
I like that the island is called 'Purgatory'. It's very comic booky/mythic, but neat.
I'm pretty sure Ollie killed the arms dealer at the end. Awesome. The look on the dude's face, hahaha. It's very clear that Oliver is a much more deadly fighter than Diggle. Also, Walter is pretty awesome. I hope he doesn't bite it.

I think regarding HP's point of not liking Oliver because he kills people... I think this kind of makes him more interesting. There are moral quandaries to think about, but there's also more hell yeah moments in escapist television. It avoids the revolving door of criminality that Superman and Batman get stuck in.
I'm seriously laughing pretty hard at all the Arrow/Tumblr stuff. God there's some hilarious stuff here, even more hilarious because all these fan girls/boys are deadly serious.
