I agree with ReiGun, holy crap Laurel is driving me up the wall. She is "self-righteous and preachy" personified. Her and her dad are just... ugh. They've got pretty terrible writing, which sucks since I'm sure at least Blackthorne could do better than this. I'm not too familiar with that other actress though.

Katie Cassidy isn't normally saddled with goodie-two-shoes character. She normally plays a feisty, snarky character (see: Supernatural, Melrose Place, etc). So it surprised me to see her playing such boring coat hanger here. Such a bad decision to write the character in that way. I don't know if the real Laurel Lance in the comic is such boring character but I'd like to think that's not the case.

Dude. isn't that oliver's sister?

Eww dude, no. His sister never looked like this without the mask on:

Also, they mentioned Blüdhaven on this week's episode. That was interesting if they do indeed go there.

Yeah, the writing isn't doing Katie Cassidy any favors (and I know she can act because I've seen her in other CW shows where she actually holds her own pretty well). The character is just DOA.

I'm still enjoying the show quite a bit but I'm not sure how it's able to survive half of the cast being complete dead weight. Aside from Oliver, Diggle and maybe Moira (mostly due to my affection for Susanna Thompson), I wouldn't be heartbroken if everyone else just vanished.

Maybe (hopefully) she'll
change when she becomes a hero. What's the black canary, or whatever she is,
like in the comics?

Do not listen to this man. They've been doing amazingly well so far. Bring on the characters.

Agreed. I think they're juggling the cast well enough.

Yeah, the writing for the Lances is just... ughhhhh. Both actors are probably more capable than what they're being given, but I have high hopes that Blackthorne's got something good to play with now that he's got Oliver in his sights as Arrow. Cassidy... eh, I don't like her character or the writing for her very much. The last episode was just terrible from her character perspective.

Every girl on this show I would smash... maybe even the mother too.

Willa Holland is the standout, I think... but yes, I agree with your sentiment. But I think Black Huntress/Her actress (what was her name again?) will ultimately capture my heart.

Edit: Oh, Jessica De Gouw. She's gorgeous:

Maybe Laurel will get more interesting
if/when she becomes Black Canary?
(spoiled just in case)

I like that the show has so many characters. Ollie, Dig, chinese island guy, and the computer chick are the standouts. The Lances are ugh. Everyone else is fine.

Chinese Island guy is the best. The best!

I find Thea and Ollie's interactions hilarious cause half the time it feels like Thea's about a second away from tearing off his clothes.

I'm not sure how I feel about the turn of events at the end of the last episode. I feel like that's a trope most media in the genre tackle much later on.

Also the deathstroke mask in the first episode looked terrible. He's a much better character that deserves better than that.

Noooo. I felt that way too. It was awkward when she inspected his wound. :/

Whereas with Laurel there seems to be zero interest on her part in him. None, nope, nada. WTF, writers/actors?

I can't wait until The Huntress is introduced to wipe away this awkward taste.

Na, youre just attracted to Ollie and projecting it onto the sister

Maybe, I mean Amell is a pretty handsome dude... but I'm not attracted to him. I'm pretty sure I'm straight. Pretty sure.

I knew I wasn't going crazy! Let's hope they have a good, sexy dynamic like Bruce and Selina.

I love all the "oh shit it's that guy" moments in this show

Dude from Resident Evil movie laser death
"Black Jack" Curtis
Stephen Saunders
Ryu
Jack Harkness

Haha, that scene was indeed so awkward!

Watched 5 mins of an ep. The lead is worse than Tom Welling. Yikes.

He's not a very good actor, but the dude is so jacked that I can actually believe he is pulling off all of that action, which i guess is another form of acting

I can't be the only one seeing sexual tension there, right? It's weird.
No, they got that look like as soon as the cameras turn off, they're going back to the trailer for some fuckin. There are just some people you can see the chemistry (good or bad).

Like, I can tell Dule Hill and James Roday are best buds and that Lucy Liu and that Sherlock fucker hate each other.

Doing my part in Canada and watching Arrow on CTV right now. I wonder why it was moved from Wednesday to Tuesday for this week, though. Hope it has nothing to do with ratings. This is only the second episode I've watched, but I really like it so far.

Don't know about up there, but ratings in America are good, for the CW at least.

Hahahahaha, really? I don't get the vibe that they hate each other, but they don't have that, you know, "spark" like Hill/Roday or Freeman/Cumberbatch in 'Sherlock'. I'm attributing it to growing pains. But I definitely agree about the two 'Arrow' actors, like holy fuck you'd have to blind not to see it.

I watch shows a day late, so it doesn't make a difference to me anyways... this doesn't mean CW is shifting Arrow to Tuesdays right? It's killing it in its present slot.

For a guy that's barely eating anything, he's fucking ripped. LOL @ the masked Goldust dude, yep that's a comic book character.

I love how they tackled the "billionaire returns, vigilante appears...concidence?" problem so head on, even Nolan failed at that :)

Also..Deathstroke....damn...catching that arrow like that :)

I can't wait for Chinese Island Guy (CIGgy?) to find his way to Starling City and tell Oliver that they have to go back.

Such a waste of Deathstroke. Why even bother introducing him if you're just gonna have him stand around and then get into a karate fight with an Asian dude?

To introduce him? That was the point. He will appear in multiple episodes.

Dont know what to think about this show. Its good but there are some moments when i am Lost. For instance how on earth can the father was lead investigator with a personal dilemma against the suspect? And also the romantic relationship where oliver is a douche some times and a nice guy the other times. If as he says that he always thinking about how hes affecting other people, then why doesnt he have a plan how he is gonna treat Laura?

I actually noticed a tiny bit of sparks between Oliver and Laurel on the latest episode. Just a tiny spark but it's something, rite?

I love how all the people who were "OMG lazy writing I guess there were no cameras on the island!" got shut up in the first 10min of the episode XD
