So let me see if I have this right. People are complaining about trick arrows, like we didn't think it was going to come to this.

Dat jiggle.

I hope they make mention of this.

One of the best episodes of Arrow so far. Some great action scenes, trick arrows!, Diggle was hilarious, Roy was interesting for a second straight episode and those dresses on Felicity. I think Laurel is somehow getting worse. She needs to hurry up and get killed off. Not sure how Ollie is gonna escape at the end there. Needed Detective Lance,

They really turned up the hotness on Felicity. Those dresses are just... WOW. Extreme fan catering? Yes, but who cares when it's so good?

For sure. Feels like the fighting choreography is not up to par with last season. Also this non lethality is weak

Whoever wrote Kelly Hu's dialog should be fired. Also, Kelly Hu should be fired. So god damn cheesy. The only redeeming part of this episode was the cliffhanger.

In regards to the truck lacking police protection of any kind I think you guys need to remember that the entire point of this episode was to talk about how no one actually gives a fuck about the glades. The episode starts out with a truck getting hijacked and instead of chasing it the police stop to arrest Roy. One of the lines of dialogue in the episode was about how the police will barely even go into the glades and they have no presence at all deeper in. The government clearly doesn't care enough to look for help, I think at this point it'd be more likely for the military to be sent in sometime in the future to try and keep order. To be honest I'm surprised it wasn't a new story line given the whole earthquake and stuff.

My question was after multiple consecutive murders, what driver would even think of doing this without an escort?

That would actually be really cool. Starling under martial law.

I just finished watching season 1 and I'm having such a strange reaction to this show. I couldn't roll my eyes any further back into my head over some of the romantic fluff, but the island stuff is intriguing. Honestly, I hope we see Ollie slowly transforming into Green Arrow as the show goes on, because he does seem like a low-rent batman at the moment.

Good point. Though, I do have to wonder why they kept sending the trucks. Especially since no one really cares what happens in the glades.

wow this show is great.

ollie being in the island for 5 years opens up another storyline. the fact that even if the island was a flashback yet everytime ollie was in danger they were made as if he'd never really make it. parallel storylines give this show so much charm. island storyline is very intriguing and very focused, and island ollie vs ceo ollie have their own character developments. island ollie killing for the first time and arrow ollie not trying to kill for the first time in a long time.

everyone else was great, even laurel was great in this episode. her character hating arrow ollie in the end vs caring about ceo ollie during the benefit party. great, great stuff all around.

What would the misshapen skulls be on the island? I can't think of anyting from DC lore that applies.

Nothing really specific springs to mind,
though it could be the groundwork for experiments that will lead to the creation of Flash and/or metahumans.

Not a bad episode but Michael Jai White was so underused it hurt. He speaks half a line and has two battle scenes where you basically see nothing. Such a shame.
Give him some more lines, the guy can act. And frame him better, he has some moves. And by some I mean a lot, and they're spectacular.

They could be setting up
Project Cadmus
as a long-running institution that used to be on the island, I guess, since we already know
Amanda Waller
is coming soon.

EDIT: wtf am I on those two things aren't related at all. It could still be something like the first one, though

EDIT2: oh wait, they are in some (BB, JLU) instances

Poor Slade Wilson. Alone on an island for so long with no women and then when the first woman arrives Oliver hooks up with her immediately. Those two clearly aren't thinking of poor Slade and his needs here!

Also Laurel is such a bitch, blaming the Hood for Tommy dying when it was clearly her fault for staying in that damn building, trying to get some random files, even after her father told her to get out.

IIRC The Bronze Tiger will get a bigger role over the course of the season. I believe they're currently in the process of setting the pieces in place, be patient.

Better not turn Slade into a simp.

The Flash is supposed to make his first appearance next ep... or at least Barry.

It's amazing to me how they managed to turn laurel from one of ny favorite characters in the show to my most hated. She was so incredibly fucking obnoxious this episode to the point I'm hoping they kill her off.

Maybe they'll make her so hateable that even Ollie with start hating her and finally realise his feelings for Felicity....

Having Slade become a villain because he's a beta who didn't get the girl in a love triangle is the dumbest, laziest shit ever and will straight up ruin his character. I guess that's OK though because it's on the CW, or something...

You are looking at this all wrong. Slade isn't jealous of Olli he's jealous of Shado.

The problem with the island material isn't simply that they've introduced a potential love triangle complication. It's that it feels as if Slade has been downgraded in screen time despite Manu being promoted to series regular. They still have time to rectify this, but the writers need to do something big and memorable to shock us back into believing in Slade's status as unquestioned Alpha of the Island.

Also this.

There's probably a dozen slash fics where they just invite him over.

Any triangle would be stupid, to be honest.

When is Slade supposed to show up in the current timeline this season?
We don't know yet, we don't even know for certain if he will. I think that would work best at a time we don't expect it, for instance if it looks like he is killed on the island in the season 2 finale and nobody talks about him being back for season 3.
