There's no way they are going to end it with a 30 minute episodes is there? The trailer for the last episode has so much going on.

The Aussie director added in some Aussie characters. That's cute.

Just found out Raimi only directed the first episode. That makes so much sense.

It's gotten much better since they went back to the cabin. Glad we have the series but I think a decent length movie could've worked given things for me have simply been better during the last few episodes.

Now that we're 9 episodes into Ash Vs. Evil Dead, can we finally agree that it's a disappointment with shitty CGI blood and a boring supporting cast? That's if you actually stuck around, as most sensible people forgot about it a few weeks back. Bruce Campbell is the best part and yet he's essentially on autopilot, nothing really sticks out with Ash in the show.

I don't absolutely hate it, it's whatever. Very mediocre and below average in a lot of ways. I guess I like it more than the pseudo remake. I think my earlier skepticism kinda rang true, Evil Dead just doesn't work as a TV show.

I'm glad Bruce is getting a steady paycheck, but that's about it.

Don't know what you are talking about , I like the show a lot. Never get when one person thinks their opinion is the only one. Why do you still watch it?

As someone who was there when ED2 came out in the theaters, no. No we cannot agree.

There have been some weak episodes, but I like the supporting cast.

Every character who isn't Ash should die because they're all terrible. Character arcs and Evil Dead don't go together. Show would've been better if it was like The Littlest Hobo with Ash but he just ruined everything for everyone.
The first three episodes were solid because it felt like each one had it's own idea and felt distinct. Now it just feels too focused on them killing Deadites, which honestly is just one part which made the original movies fun.

I think this season could have easily been cut into a movie and it would be better for it.
i kinda feel the same. few too many meandering episodes in the middle that felt, well, kinda phoned in and outright inconsistent with the tone of earlier episodes

buuuuut i do feel those episodes are kinda worth it to get to the great ones, such as episode 9.

Not insulting people who watch the show or like it. I agree that I could have worded my post better. As for why I still the show well it's because I'm a huge fan. Star Wars is the news a lot lately well I guess you can say that Evil Dead is my number one trilogy. Huge fanboy for it. So of course I'll be there even if it's somehow the worst thing out there. Not saying the show is horrible, just incredibly mediocre.

I agree with that another poster said. I'd take a movie with the best parts of this and the remake(which while I hated I admit the last 15 minutes were gold, just too little too late) over both.

Overall, I like it but that pilot was so fantastic that everything after felt a bit mediocre. It is only a first season so they have more time to explore different ideas.

makes good threads.
I think the main problem with the series lies mainly in the writing. Each director this season has shown a bit of confidence in at least one of their episodes, but usually falters when the writers change with the next. Comedy is a hard thing to write. Even harder when you're trying to emulate a very specific style like Evil Dead.

This is true. There's a weird dichotomy of being true to the source material while putting your own stamp on it going on in this show.

Yeah, a good ending for this season.

I was actually expecting Pablo to die at the end, glat it didn't take that turn. I just wish we saw some more of the mayham this caused in the rest of the world. I was expecting all those escaping demon kids to build up to one last shot of chaos in the city.

I guess it's not too bad though, with the second season confirmed and everything.

Loved the
negotiation bit, "And 10,000 dollars ... then gas money."

Good ending for a season as it has to lead into the second season. I am glad that
Lucy Lawless will be back for season 2 as I enjoy her as an actress.

I loved the tone and feel of the whole season. Its been great. Appreciate the middle episodes slowed a bit but loved it all.

The music choices throughout, the intro piece especially and all the end credit picks. Cast superb and as solid direction as you could expect in the first season of a show with multiple directors taking on a cult classic.

Bemused at the people picking it apart. Its greater than the sum of its parts and I await season 2 with a goofy grin

Holy shit that last episode. It was everything i always wanted from another Evil Dead. And the ending was perfect.
Ash always manages to make things worse.

Can't wait for next season. I will be buying this show on Blu Ray for sure.

Nope, the show has been great and ED totally works as a TV show. I guess as the saying goes, they just can't please everybody. Sure it's not perfect, but it was far better than I expected (and I thought it would be pretty good to begin with) and it captures the campy humor and gory horror of the movies damn near perfect.

Basically this is as good as the fans are going to get now, because ED4 / AoD 2 is never going to happen as a movie, not that it's a bad thing now we have this and with Season 2 they should be able to learn a lot from season 1 and improve it even more.

As much as I enjoyed the season, it's really disappointing that Raimi could only direct one episode. I think this would have been something special if he directed the whole show

Watching the finale right now. So fucking good.

Am I the only one that was disappointed with the finale? I was expecting a lot better that was nowhere near as good as the pilot or even the previous two episodes.

Hopefully. It was the best ep after the premiere. Not sure how I feel about the ending tho.

Finale was pretty fantastic. I want more right now, and knowing that we'll have to wait till next October totally blows.

Episode was amazing. There were a few weaker episodes in the middle of the season but ultimately season one delivered most of what I wanted from an Evil Dead show and will be an instant Blu-Ray buy for me. Loved it and it's going to be a very long wait for season two.

Well, I thought the finale was a mid-tier episode. Not bad but not one of my favorites either.

I look forward to rewatching the whole season on blu-ray.

After a bunch of deadites this season it was cool to see the cabin do its evil shit. Lotta variety this episode. Good stuff.

The season wasn't perfect but damn if that wasn't an amazing finale.

The pilot and this felt the most "Evil Dead" to me.

Agreed.

And kudos to the set director for including Freddy's glove in the basement. Made me think of ED2 all over again.

Will be interested to see where this goes. I wonder if the series is going to remake Army of Darkness, since that page was shown in the Necronomicon.

Yeah, the final episode nailed it. Was probably the best episode of the season.

I'll write full thoughts up when not away from home, though I'm certainly on the positive side of the show but of course it has some flaws. This said, happy it's getting a second season, if they can take their critique well it can turn out even better. But the last episode of Season 1 was just fantastic.

The final episode of the season was definitely the best. Rick Jacobson and Craig Digregorio did a fantastic job directing and writing this one.
