I don't talk about the theatrical cut. That wasn't Snyder's vision.
At the end he's talking normally, and then stutters and says "but but but I'm insane!" like it's definitely intentional. The Knightmare was dealing with a whole different timeline, which I agree was totally out of place. The Jolly Rancher scene gets talked about, but I don't see the problem? He was literally making someone eat out of the palm of his hand. It's a show of power. It's very Lex-like imo. It's a comic book movie..about an alien being created, why can't it make it's own rules? The ship "activated doomsday device", which apparently needs a dead Kryptonian and some blood. Did you watch the extended? I assume no, but the framing storyline is actually pretty well thought out imo. Also, nobody thinks he shot people.
Anyway, that's just my two cents. We don't have to keep talking about it in here. Most people hated it, I get that. I'm not attached to the characters and just loved the different type of superhero movie both it and MoS provided. Wish we could have more in this style with Geoff Johns guidance to tighten it up, but alas...
