Loving the rope launcher.
I can imagine that they're super wary about the performance. Wonder if they're aiming for a higher resolution as well.I'm not sure why that is though. Is it because Quebec isn't really familiar with the engine Montreal made? Because the game doesn't look as good as unity in terms of facial models. Evie and Jacob don't look as good as Elise and Arno did.
I'd have expected the visual fidelity to have been increased, since it seems they aren't over doing unity's crowds, which killed performance and was at a whole completely useless.
Unrevealed, but this demo does feature an example of what they were talking about with the music.Looks familiar, but I will still buy it.
Soundtrack is amazing so far! Do we know the composer?
There are numerous musical suites tied to the way an encounter escalates, which provides a kind of aural feedback on the scope of a challenge.
Doesn't look impressive, same old shit.
"Let's use the iconic assassin rope launcher"
Someone at Ubisoft really needs to look up the definition of that word.
I think my hype for this game has risen a bit more, Jeffrey Yohalem is writing this game. Dude was head writer for Brotherhood (best AC game in my option) and Far Cry 3. He also help in writing AC II. That right there tells me that there is hope for this game.
I think cause when people hears Victorian London they were expecting something really atmospheric like rain, night time, fog, Jack the Ripper type things similar to how bloodborne looks. But this isn't anything like that, it seems pretty plain to me.People often talk AC games down after they're released and still get hyped for the next because of the settings etc. only to be let down again (not everyone of course), but I haven't really detected that same familiar "hyped again!" air this time around. The game looks gorgeous and I love the idea of victorian london but these videos so far just haven't managed to grab me at all.
She fights with a cane? That's awesome.
Why she's not the sole protagonist of the game?

A very young woman falling in love with a 50 old man kinda feels more forced imo. Not saying that never happens but, there was zero conflict between the two of them.EEEEEHHHHHH
He's alright, I still have issues with Far Cry 3, and Brotherhood made the Borgias to be something like comic-book villains.
My expectations for the story, as they have been since IV will be SUPER LOW. Unity's was poor and the love story wasn't even as good as Sofia's and Ezio's in Revelations. It felt forced and in the end I didn't care for either Elise or Arno.
But whatever.![]()
Yeah, for Victorian setting, this looks very plain, was really hoping for the city to be more stylized, dark and mysterious, something like From Hell. Also, instead of this "gang warfare" they keep touting, I'd much prefer some secret societies, since Victorian London is brimming with potential to go for that route.I think cause when people hears Victorian London they were expecting something really atmospheric like rain, night time, fog, Jack the Ripper type things similar to how bloodborne looks. I do think that was also part of the appeal and kind of refreshing after the tragic endings of almost any romance in the series before that and it was funny to see how cute was Ezio doing romantic stuff.A very young woman falling in love with a 50 old man kinda feels more forced imo. She walks like a douchbag
Boring design.... Dude brodette
All good and realistic relationships have conflict of some kind. Otherwise the character becomes a damsel in distress who is also too perfect. There didn't really need to be. Sometimes it really is just enough to enjoy another person's company, especially as he's over 50.
35? I thought she was in her twenties, my mistake.I do think that was also part of the appeal and kind of refreshing after the tragic endings of almost any romance in the series before that. Also it was funny see how Ezio romantic antics...
Also Sofia was already like 35 years old if memory serves me well and considering the setting she was not THAT young =P
How does one walk like a douchebag? What does that even mean? She walks like a douchbag

Eh. I guess it to me it felt better then the forced love story in Unity. All good and realistic relationships have conflict of some kind. Otherwise the character becomes a damsel in distress who is also too perfect.
I seriously disagree with the relationship in Unity feeling forced. They successfully avoided damsel in distress, badass female, and the too perfect tropes which plague video game romance plots.Eh. I guess it to me it felt better then the forced love story in Unity.
I think we can both agree that the Cristina love story in Brotherhood was the best realized. And it was done in four short segments.

Environment, atmosphere and music are fantastic.. game looks great in my opinion.
I agree. That is why I hate so much the icons/UI/HUD breaking the immersion. Is it possible to play it without it?

I agree about 4 having a better emotional payoff. Ton of good character interactions in that. And I usually hate prequel stories. I do wish we could've had flashbacks but the conflict between them felt very justified, the letters helped too. The book is really good since it's from Elise's perspective.I didn't buy into it. You get one sequence with them as kids and then it just jumps to them as adults with memories together they describe but you never see or experience. All that talk about "trust me, babe, I'm still that silly kid you knew remembah?" "OKAY".
I won't look to AC as a beacon of good characterization in general, but it never felt right in Unity. Funny enough, Arno's character by Dead Kings and his frustration was easy to buy into because we experienced what put him that way.
But bleh. Unity's overall story was lame.
EDIT: ACIV had a better emotional payoff.
Everything turned off but the minimap, (thankfully the health is next to the minimap this time) is the best way to play.I agree. That is why I hate so much the icons/UI/HUD breaking the immersion. Is it possible to play it without it?
