Assassin's Creed Unity |OT| Liberté, égalité, parité

Just blew five lockpicks trying to unlock a door in one of the Co-op missions. It's inside one of the big mansions where the framerate is in slideshow territory 24/7, and it made the lockpicking minigame so laggy I couldn't do it.

Against my better judgment, I've been trying to get the Platinum Trophy in this, but the final stretch is just such a drag. Apparently I have to go and find all the Sync Points in each Co-op and Heist mission now, which means sitting here like a schmuck at my computer watching Youtube guides to see where the all are. I'm playing the missions solo so I don't hold up other players while I dawdle around tracking these things down, and it's just such a chore. Just when I thought I was done with the collectibles there turns out to be another whole set hidden in the multiplayer. Why do I do this to myself?

The good thing about the COOP sync points is that you don't have to complete them if you just want the sync points. I went back to a few of them and got some that I had missed and just quit the mission. No need to replay the whole thing. In quite a few you can just ignore the objectives entirely.

Question about riddles:

Are those usually in the same district or very close to each other?

Most of them are reasonably close to eachother, but some make you go a bit of distance. I don't recall any that make you go completely on the other side of the map. They all keep you on one side of the river. Or at least thats what I remember.

So Initiates looks like this for everyone right, or is it just me?

It's been like this for me every single day since 12th November, both in-game and on the website.

It's been completely broken for me since day 1. I wish Ubi would do the right thing and unlock all of the Initiates and Companion App chests with a patch, but that won't happen.

Platinumed the game today with 99% Sync which you can only get 100% if you do the companion app bull shit. Trading it in for Dragon Age I.

Chest collection is some high order of bull shit. A lot of them are placed in locations that are almost a copy/paste of another location in the game. Then trying to find that one Chest in the District that isn't showing up on your map also compounds the bull shit. And locking level 3 chests behind level 3 doors is also bull shit to the mix.

I broke the combat once I reached 5 stars. I could take on 15 combatants at once by just using Staggering Strike and dodge. Smoke is over powered, it's basically a cheaper stun so you can use it in combat to disorient enemies. I hardly used stealth once I beat story mode because I basically juse hold down R2.

This is thoroughly a 7/10 game on consoles. Suffers from Ubisoft excessiveness and copy/paste. With better framerate and less technical issues I can see this being 8/10 on PC. I probably won't be playing another AC game until the end of this gen.

So when just cruising around free roam between missions, will time of day not change on its own? Must I change it manually?
Thx

No dynamic change due to the use of global illumination I'm guessing. You can open the menu and change the time of day after beating the story like in Infamous SS.

Ok cool thanks wasn't sure....

Also manual Tod change is available from the beginning when you are out of tutorial and not in a mission. So I'll just change it myself. It makes you restart from last save.

http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/955733-Update-on-AC-Initiates-and-Frequently-Asked-Questions

Hello all,

After Thursday's maintenance, we have identified the issue that was affecting Legacy Data (your previously played games' stats) from syncing with your account. While the maintenance was crucial in implementing fixes for this issue, we will be applying an additional fix this evening to address this further. We will break down exactly what this means for you below.

What is the issue?

There is an issue with the stats gateway that we have identified. As such, Legacy data still cannot be synced properly, but a fix that will be applied tonight should resolve this.

How do I get my Assassin's Creed Unity data to show up on my Initiates profile?

Your AC Unity data should show up after you connect to your initiates profile in-game. You may have to accept the prompt to link your Initiates account again when you attempt to access this from the in-game menu.

Why does my level only show Level 3?

You may experience that your Initiates level is only showing level 3 from your AC Unity data. You can increase this through the Initiates Accomplishments.

Why do I see some of my legacy data but not all?

All of the data related to your progress and completion of previous games' stories is retrieved from Uplay. If Uplay is working, but the stats gateway is not, you may only get experience points for story completion.

What about the Initiates accomplishments?

Accomplishments are live and as such, players can earn experience points from these by playing Unity.

What is Assassin Style?

Assassin Style should now be working. Based on statistics we accumulate from ACU and from the daily drills (coming soon) you complete in ACU, you will be given an Assassin Style. You will be able to tailor your Assassin Style by completing specific Accomplishments or Daily Drills when they are available.

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
The glyph puzzles in the app are pretty much bullshit. Just let me play a fucking mission.

Answers are on youtube. Really good videos showing locations. Just make sure you're on the right glyph set, since there are a couple for each location.

Does the initiates site not work or wat? None of my games are linked to that janky site.

It's starting to work for me. Finally went from lvl 1 to 5, its acknowledging that I completed all of the previous ACs.

But I think every time I earned XP in Unity it was supposed to show up on Initiates. It still thinks I haven't played Unity at all. I better get credit for all the shit I've done, Ubi!

i have the opposite problem.when I booted up Unity today I got a bunch of credit for doing actions in in-game but all legacy AC games haven't shown up yet.

So I got this and Far Cry 4 today. I'm enjoying it but the game is definitely glitchy.

Arno doesn't seem that great of a protagonist yet though. I love Elise so far.

OK, I think I know what to do now- you and I must combine into a single entity, like at the end of Star Trek The Motion Picture. And merge our Initiates accounts.

People on reddit are saying initiates is working for them. I checked mine. I went from level 12 to level 4 and it says I have not played a single Assassins Creed game to date

I think it's chugging along, getting data for all users. Went from level 5 to level 1, and now at level 12, though it thinks I've only ever started my AC games, and never finished the story on any of them, but knows my completion percentages, so hoping it's still synching.

Unity isnt even working properly for me in Initiates. It says I have started the story, and have 0% sync. I have 99% sync and beat the story

It's an iOS/Android app that eats through your phone or tablet battery like a giant battery-eating thing. You can use it to hire a bunch of assassins and send them on missions around Paris to earn rewards, although it's really annoying and time-consuming (if the rewards even work in the first place). I remember when this kind of thing was part of the actual game in Brohood and Revelations and actually had some useful rewards, but I guess it just has to be companion app bullshit nowadays.

Also, I think some of the mission difficulty ratings in Unity are a bit out of whack. I did a social club mission that was supposedly the hardest difficulty (5 diamonds) in a couple of minutes, all I had to do was blend for a while, wait for the target and stab him when he got close, and walk away without a problem. The "Moving Mirabeau" co-op mission was a bit harder and really long, but I did it solo with barely any issues and had a blast. Meanwhile, I've screwed up a bunch of 2-3 diamond missions pretty royally and had to be a lot more careful to beat them.

So, what do I do with creed points? I have over 33,000 and no clue what they do.

Buy sweet colours for your clothes.

Upgrade your gear to do more damage/be better at stealth/hold more bullets etc.

You can see the difference an upgrade makes while equipping stuff.

Oh Jesus, I'm dumb. Every time I saw the numbers, I didn't pay attention to the symbol when looking at colors. Thanks. Now if only my most wanted wasn't locked behind a requirement of 100 cockades found.

I know right, I gotta get that black.

I first thought the garish red and yellow would be awesome but they look so out of place when you go back to the game world. The muted colours look way cooler in-game than they do on the equip screen.

Man, I don't care what other people say, this game looks gorgeous, especially running around in the sun and seeing Elise's red hair bounce about. Cutscenes are amazing to look at, and I thought ACIII's engine did a great job with that.

The combat in this game is really frustrating because everyone and their mother has a gun that they use as soon as you're a few feet away from them.

Maybe I just suck, but I keep getting murder faced on these co-op missions. I know they are supposed to be co-op, but I really have no interest in that at all. My own fault, I suppose, but I'm really having trouble finding ways to enjoy this game now other than look at the amazing graphics. Maybe I just need to leave the game on for a while so I accrue enough money to buy 5-star gear.

It seems that my Initiates profile has reset and no longer recognizes that I've completed the legacy games. However, I did just get a boat load of accomplishments while I was fooling around in-game.

Just beat the game. I ended up enjoying it far more than I figured I would. But holy hell, the final fight was hot garbage. I don't understand how such frustrating game design makes it into the final product
