HAHA, i Guess i asked a Bad question, This is not a Troll Thread, Mods can lock it if they want.

Assuming that PS3 is all that powerful of a console

and assuming its like "1.5" more powerful compared to xbox 360 where "1" means Ps3 = xbox360

what will you think of Xbox 360 ?

DreamCast 2?

the way i see the problem is, the first gen of PS2 games didnt look as good as Shenmue 1 and 2 on DC, and they didnt have games like Phantasy Star online [ i love you ] and yet Sega lost in front of the hype sony has, and when PS2 launched, Sega had around 8 million user base, close to what Ms want with xbox 360 of being 10 million the first year.


well anyway back to topic, what will you think of Xbox 360?


Ofcours it could be the other way around.
what if the PS3 is really a weak console. and even though the xbox 360 is one year head start, the system is more powerful than PS3 because the graphics card on ps3 isnt that good or lets say the Cell is kinda weird s**t and its can never reach its true power for example,

what will you think of PS3?




IF ps3 is more powerful, then i honestly think Xbox 360 will be dead in terms of sales. maybe because many people at first [ again at first ] bought xbox for its true power, or Sega supporters and heard of all those Sega games, and ofcourse Maybe Halo . but the main reason [ for me anyway] was the power of the console and the HDD idea etc.

and yet, they lost against PS2 for many reasons. due being late, less games, less excusive etc.

now imagine all the powerful console that MS used to have has been gone to Sony + the games etc. what would happen would you think?

Microsoft also has a strong market behind them since the Xbox performed well above expectations for alot of the gamers out there.

While I don't find the X360 attractive (next gen is Rev/PS3 for me), many others do. And well, Microsoft is going full throttle to make sure they don't lose their consumers to Sony or Nintendo. Bangass online strategy, the usual assortment of NA developer exclusives, and slowly rising Japanese support to boot. Not to mention MS will do whatever it takes to have Halo 3 be well... Halo.

What I tihnk MS should'nt do is copy Sony. Image-wise anyway. Does that make sense?

Xbox did well above expectation for NA/UK only. in japan it failed. and to be failed in japan is hard to pick up in the next fight [ not only in japan, in US ad UK too if u the console fail the first time.]


you say MS will do the best this time around. but then again Sony isnt sleeping either. and you can see that from games like MGS, DMC and GTA are still Sony exclusive. and you also can bet Resident Evil 5 will be on Ps3 as well.

honestly if Killzone 2 and Motorstorm come true on PS3 on say 30 fps even, then honestly how xbox 360 will hold?

assuming that the 360 will launch between $299 and $349 and rack up sales(tried reserving at your local GS or EB lately? tsc tsc), and will have a full year for devs to dig into the hardware before ps3 launches and then have a SECOND launch with a lowered price of $249-$399 and halo 3 as well as the 2nd gen 360 games to compete with ps3s 1st gen games, i'd say ms is in damn good shape.

What i'm hoping for is some kinda trick sharing within MS 3rd and 1st partys where say devs like bizarre and whoever is working on gears of war who are RIGHT NOW trying their hardest to push the hardware(unlike EA) will leave hardware documentation for all devs to share to get the absolute best out of the system. i believe sega tried this in the saturn days.

PS3 will be more powerful. The graphics *should* look better if you believe the hype, but not to a point there will be that discernable difference. And no I don't expect to see the Killzone 2 'demo' looking anything like that on the actual machine.

The average dude on the street is going to see games like Gears of War and Ghost Recon 3 as graphical equivolents to that Killzone CG reel. When both systems are sitting side by side in the store, these things will as usual win the day:

1) What system is the most popular among the masses?
2) What system does my friend have?
3) What system has the games that suit my interest?

Probably in that order.

Specious logic at best. The problem with comparing the Xbox 360 to the Dreamcast lies in that people always focus on the launch window and not say the difference between the companies backing the two systems, and their financial situations.

Microsoft lost enough money to sink Sega ten times over supporting the Xbox, and it's little more than a tax write off for them. That right there pretty much makes the Dreamcast comparison moot.
