Congratulations, your new favorite wrestler is Darren Young.

You can be a fan of Bob Backlund. He is America's greatest triumph.

Also: Tamina Snuka because she could use a fan.

Stardust?

What a who's who.

And was Beautiful Bobby really not a racist? I've never heard a cross word about him, but the dude is from Alabama and entrenched in the wrassle. To not be a racist would be incredible.

Batista vs HHH Hell in a Cell at Vengeance 2005 is one hell of an overlooked match. The build basically was about how HHH always stole the spotlight and always won burying his stable mates and Batista couldn't take it anymore.

One of the better hell in a cell fights and
HHH actually lost cleanly too.

So Paige/Charlotte/Becky are going to have a Beat the Clock challenge on RAW tomorrow to determine the #1 Diva's Championship contender.

Who's the midget? He looks like a founder of a wrestling website/forum who left for the big-time, and now won't return because it's become a joke even though he lost his job with said big-time. Am I close?

If you were super positive about wrestling, would you really want to be on message boards with wrestling fans?

HHH never beat Batista. He made Batista a star. He's responsible for Guardians of the Galaxy.

So guys, hearing INCREDIBLE stuff about BOLA (NO SPOILERS) and decided to pick up three PWG shows from the Highspots sale (cost me £23 for the downloads, bargain) and picked up Don't Sweat the Technique, DDT4 2015 and Mystery Vortex III! Will get Threemendous when it's available for download then onto BOLA, i'm so damn excited.

Anyone give me some opinions on these shows please? High hopes for PWG but can't go looking for reviews and ratings due to spoilers. Boo!

Wait, what's this about Seth?

The girl he dumped his fiance for and had his dick pics leaked because of, turns out she is a fan of Nazi paraphernalia at the very least. And Seth has publicly gone out and defended her just as before the whole thing broke.

Also he said in his Superstar Ink video that he's not really friends with anyone on the roster anymore and feels isolated at the top :( Although that could be a work, it seemed genuine enough as it's one of those nebulous not-quite-kayfabe reality videos that WWE does.

Yeah it's a lie. He's friends with Corey Graves, good friends with Kofi as you could tell during Swerved and also good friends with Xavier when he was on UpUpDownDown. Also good friends with Ambrose and Reigns too.

He forgot what temperature Roman likes his beer at so they can't be bros anymore.

Seth dog, you stick your dick in just about anything I guess.

I hope the likes of Heyman are making a huge deal out of this and assuring Zahra never sees another WWE contract in her lifetime.

Not a fan of this person to say the least, what a crazy little white supremacist.

Not everybody from the south is a racist though. You never hear a bad thing about Eaton in any shoot or interview. I'm just saying, I don't get those vibes from dude...but you never know.

Hey guys. I haven't posted in a little while as things move super fast in these threads.

I was told to go watch Starrcade '85 a couple of days ago. I knew nothing going in and was blown away. I could post a breakdown of what I thought if anyone is interested?

Honestly, ever since they started running Reseda every show and switched to live commentary, they haven't had a bad show. You really can't go wrong with any show.

In fairness, nothing wrong with liking the opposite sex. Wanting an entire race of people exterminated from the earth is a tad different.
Oh definitely it's not even comparable. Fuck Zahra's nazi dumb ass.

I'm 100 percent fine with Heyman and am a huge overall fan. He just creeps me out a little with some of his HeymanHustle stuff.

Seth will be fine but this is making him look pretty bad to say the least. Guy needs to wake up and look at the decision he's making by being with this creature.

Yeah I don't actually get what HeymanHustle is, but he got a super hot English girl called Beth Lily involved she spelt it "Hayman" and I laughed my ass off so whatever.

Angry Grimace

I tend to doubt this will result in Rollins eating pins from Dolph Ziggler on Smackdown or anything, but yeah, she's getting fired.

Starrcade '85

Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship: Krusher Khruschev vs. Sam Houston
Fun little opener. Khruschev later went onto wrestle as The Repo Man, so he's fine in my book. Sam Houston is the definition of a white meat baby face. Nothing really stood out in this one, but it wasn't bad.
Khruschev got the win after a big clothesline and knocked Houstons foot off the rope when the ref as counting the pin, winning the vacated title.
**

Mexican Death Match: Abdullah The Butcher vs. “Raging Bull” Manny Fernandez
This is a sombrero on a pole match. With Abby. Seriously. I liked this match far more then I thought I would. Abby sold for a good portion of the match making Manny look like a beast. Manny can also really fly for a guy of his build, easily crossing the ring a couple of times. Watching Abby attempt to climb the pole may have been the best part of the match.
Fernandez picks up the win after Abdullah charges at the ring post.
**1/2

Texas Bull Rope Match: “Outlaw” Ron Bass vs. Black Bart

Strap match. That's all I've really got to say. If Ron Bass wins, he get's 5mins with JJ Dillon. They use the cowbell. That's pretty much it.
Ron Bass wins after hitting Bart with the cowbell.
*

Ron Bass v JJ Dillon

Bass is gassed. Smacks Dillon around for about 3mins.
Bart hit's a piledriver on Bass, giving Dillon the win.
N/A.

$10,000.00 Arm Wrestling Challenge: The Barbarian vs. “Superstar” Billy Graham
Jesus. Billy Graham.
Graham wins.
N/A.

“Superstar” Billy Graham vs. The Barbarian
Fuck sake. Graham can't wrestle at all. Match is punches, kicks, and a bear hug. Paul Jones is on the outside and interferes in the match.
Grahams wins via DQ.
-***

National Heavyweight Championship: Terry Taylor (c) vs. “Nature Boy” Buddy Landel
Pretty short match, but quite enjoyable. JJ Dillon is back on the outside with Landel. Landel is really playing up the Flair gimmick, which seems to annoy Taylor as he completely slaps the taste out of Landel's mouth. The finish comes around when a superplex is set up.
JJ swipes a leg, causing Landel to land on top of Taylor, getting the pin and the belt.
***

National Tag Team Championship: Arn & Ole Anderson (c) vs. Billy Jack Haynes and Wahoo McDaniel
Jesus, the talent in this match. Ole and Haynes go back and forth in the early stages. Wahoo comes in and it turns into resthold city. Shame. Ole then starts working Wahoo's arm which starts to bring the match back. The Anderson's are superb throughout the match, from working Wahoo's arm so he can't get his finisher out, keeping him in the corner during tags.
Ole trips and holds Wahoo allowing Arn to get the pin.
***1/2

United States Heavyweight Championship: Steel Cage I Quit Match: Tully Blanchard (c) vs. Magnum T.A.
Magnum T.A. get's no entrance and starts in the ring. But it doesn't matter. He's portrayed as a monster badass. This is not a match, this is a fight to the death. Both men are bleeding and Tully's arm is cut pretty bad. Tully pins Magnum down and screams into the mic asking if T.A. quits. "AAAGGGHHH NO" "HELL NO". This is brutal. Both men want to kill each other. Each man uses the mic as a weapon, and the feedback reverbs throughout the building. Baby Doll, Tully's valet, throws a wooden chair into the ring, which he smashes. Tully grabs a spike and pins Magnum. Tully tries to stab T.A.'s eye's out. Magnum grabs Tully's wrists and fights for his life. He somehow manages to turn the tide on Tully, getting the spike and stands above a kneeling Tully. T.A. then starts stabbing right above Tully's eyes.
Despite the mic being on the ground, Tully's screams of "I quit" are as clear as day. Magnum T.A. wins, becoming the new US champ. Jesus Christ.
*****

Atlanta Street Fight: Jimmy Valiant & Miss Atlanta Lively vs. The Midnight Express
Let's face it, there's no following that. An Atlanta Street Fight is a normal street fight, but in formal wear. Miss Atlanta Lively is Ronnie Garvin in drag. It's a messy brawl, and wasn't all that bad.
Ronnie uppercuts Eaton for the pin.
Ronnie get's hit post match and bleeds bad. Like real bad.
**1/2

World Tag Team Championship: Steel Cage: Ivan & Nikita Koloff (c) vs. The Rock & Roll Express

Good lord, the heat in this match. The Koloffs may be the most hated duo in the country by the sounds of it, and The Rock & Roll Express are the most beloved. Pretty fast match, with Nikita staying in control for the start. Crowd get into the near falls which happened throughout the match.
Ricky Morton rolls up Ivan Koloff for belts.
***

World Heavyweight Championship: Ric Flair (c) vs. Dusty Rhodes
Dusty and Flair work faster then I would have imagined them to have. Flair works the leg for most of the match, and Dusty is a champ at selling it. Ref bump, leading to the Andersons to run in.
Second ref comes in and Dusty rolls up Flair for the 3 count.
The faces run in to celebrate in the ring.
****
HANG ON.
Rhodes never won the title in Starrcade 85? That's because this is the original Dusty finish. The match is later called a DQ win for Dusty, meaning no belt changes hands. But, that did not happen this night. So, the crowd was sent home happy.

Overall: Very, very good show. Tully and Magnum is one of the finest matches I've ever seen. Flair and Dusty was also quite good. Very, very bloody show however. Maybe two or three matches didn't have a blade job.

Two big thumbs up.

Good Review. The I Quit match was the highlight of the entire event imo. They went all out and the moment TA broke the chair, you know shit was about to hit the fan. Love that match. Overall, this was probably my favorite Starrcade event next to 97 and 95.

The I quit match was pretty good until the end, which then elevated it to a whole other level.

'97's a hell of a show despite the finish of Sting vs. Hogan. I don't think I've seen '95. I might go check that out.

Edit: I just checked the Starrcade '95 card. Holy shit.

Yeah the Sting/Hogan match really put a damper on a good event. If only Hogan would have put Sting over and not fucked with the match...it would have been glorious.

Starrcade 95 was amazing because it didn't have hogan and it was a cross show with NJPW. It was a good change of pace from the past PPVs involving Hogan. Another recommendation is Starrcade 92 because of the Battle Bowl.
