I am 100% OK that I never got into Anime though. A few months I watched Dragon Ball Z growing up and that time during college I hung around with this girl and she put on spirited away in her place is about all I got.

Oh and Pokemon but I was 10/11 when that stuff got huge in the late 90's.

Both are broad terms too, wrestling can be WWE, to Dragon Gate, to New Japan, to the tiniest of local Indy wrestling. Each with their own unique hooks and traits while all still being pro-wrestling.

Same with anime there is plenty of genre choice and variety if is just the general consensus is jump to the most prominent one and label the entire field.

I like entertainment, anime and wrestling entertain me.

Going through the DVD collection to find something to watch later on and came across these DVDs which I had signed by Misawa, Kenta and Danielson when NOAH visited the UK several years back. I know signatures don't add a value but it makes them seem that bit more special for I.

That's pretty cool you got to meet those guys, especially Misawa. GBH V night 2 is probably one of the best ROH shows ever, love that main event.

Anywho, Inoki's holding the 2nd night of his pro-wrestling festival in North Korea at the moment and Daichi Hashimoto got his first win since signing with IGF (having previously been squashed by Fujita & Kawaguchi in a couple of minutes). He pinned Strongman Jon Anderson in their tag match.

I need to rewatch that Misawa Vs. KENTA title match. I remember it being very mediocre, but also remember it being Misawa's best defense of his last world title reign(although some say the Sano match was the best).

I was way into that and Sailor Moon back in the day, then I eventually just fell off the wagon and never really wanted to hop back on. There would be exceptions of course (Cromartie High, Full Metal Alchemist, Attack on Titan) but I never really go looking for new things to watch. I guess I'm just not as passionate about it like I am with wrestling *shrugs*

Azteckaiser is a show about a Japanese wrestling promotion where there's another promotion that is an EVIL PROMOTION called The Black Mist Federation. Apparently they kill a student and then vanish for no reason for a year and then come back and kill another one because wrestling is a shoot, brother. This whole episode is like Russo's fever dreams. The guy in charge of The Black Mist Federation is called Satan Demon. I'm gonna repeat that again just in case you missed it. The guy in charge of The Black Mist Federation is called Satan Demon. And his first opponent for the good guys is Eternal Hell Fighter who killed the main character's brother a year ago. The character has something called the Aztec Star on his head, and Satan Demon wants it. But for some reason he can only get it through wrestling matches. His demons suck at wrestling but then Satan Demons eyes glow and they get foreign objects to use which they use to MURDER!

70s Japan is awesome, and this show is much less likely to make me end up getting a visit from To Catch A Predator than Thunder In Paradise. No wrestler cameos though. Not that I would know any 70s Japanese wrestlers even if they were there other than Inoki here. I'll keep an eye out for Rikidozan.

It's pretty lame how the Monday Night Wars ep2 has all these current WWE wrestlers coming in with the sell for nwo, and the constantly selling whilst breaking kayfabe. I mean I don't know what I expected, haha, it's just

It's kind of interesting how the shoot vs kayfabe dichotomy has transmuted into a symbiotic relationship. that's the 'reality era' for you, brothers. looks like we really have worked ourselves into a legit shoot that we don't even know is a work when we're working a work.

Also on the schedule is "Attitude Era Raw", although they seem to not be in any order and the ones on the schedule are all 1998-1999. So tomorrow they're going to have Nitro uploaded and ahead of Raw, which has been stuck at August 7, 1995 for 2 months. I would expect for Raws and Nitros to be uploaded at the same time, but who knows. They're scheduling 1998 Raws and 1995 Nitros.

Literally the only highlight of those shows is Steve Williams Back Drop Driving Jimmy Yang onto the back of his head, and maybe also Sonjay Dutt tricking you into thinking he was going to be something.

Old people and computers are about the most frustrating things. Especially one that believes every miracle cure on Facebook and tries to google and sign up for shit that he has no idea what it is for, but since it says FREE it must be true. Even when a giant red X that says PHISHING WARNING DO NOT CLICK pops up, then he clicks it and says he had no idea why that came up. And clicks every ad that says "update you X" and then gets 10 viruses and says he didn't do anything. Despite having been online for 10 years and getting this talk weekly since then.

They believe everything a web site says. Any website. "Well, it said..." is something I hear every other day as he's trying to give out his address to a .ru website who promises FREE hearing aid batteries.

I remember being super disappointed at how much Kojima phoned it in for MLW, not that I can blame him when they were putting him in matches with Vampiro.

Sonjay :( He deserved better.

Finding porn on the comps is the worse. My buddy had to fix his dad's comp and he found porn links n other stuff you never want to find on your dad's computer.

Oh I walk in on him jerking off (in the middle of the LIVING ROOM, not a bedroom or bathroom or anything, the computer is in the living room) 4 times a month. And weirdly it isn't even to porn. It's to games on Facebook.

Aye, very good fight too, Joe Soto was amazing considering he didn't even prepare to fight Dillashaw. I hope he gets a rematch soon, but it will be a while given Soto's status as newcomer. Shame really.

T2 has: Much better production values, cooler music, rad as fuck vaudvillian, awesome action scenes, realllllllllly bad kid acting, terrible late 80s/early 90s slang. It's an action movie, whereas Terminator was a horror movie. Both are about as rad as it gets. T2 doesn't have anything as bad as the sex scene. T1 doesn't have anything as bad as Ed Furlong. They kind of balance out. Expect at least 3 GNR references.

Woah...the very first time? Goddamn. You're in for a treat with T2, but don't go in expecting more of the same - it's a fantastic action movie, but it lacks that gritty, 80's sci-fi feel that was such a hallmark of the original.

Comparing T1 & T2 is a lot like comparing Alien & Aliens. The sequels lose a lot of the dark, gritty horror vibe but they're amazing action films. Like seriously GOAT action films.

  1. Alien
  2. Terminator
  3. Terminator 2
  4. Aliens

Didn't used to be that way, but I think Aliens has really fallen out of favor for me in the last couple of years. Too long maybe. And T1 has risen. Alien is GOAT though.

I wouldn't say Aliens/T2 has fallen out of favour for me but I definitely find myself appreciating Alien more and more as I watch it, same goes for T1 & The Thing as well. Could be I'm just watching to many action films these days and I'm just enjoying the films with more of a horror vibe.

More or less my opinion on the issue.

T2 is a goddamn classic for a reason though.

I saw T1 a few months ago and felt old because of all the dated stuff in there (Phone books, answering machines, actual payphones, VCRs, and so on.).
The police station scene though...that shit's still good.
And that music was pretty rockin'.

Your ranking is perfectly in line with mine. Alien is the ultimate tense action horror movie. I didn't know about any of the shocks the first time I watched it, so my mind was totally blown. Such a creepy and uneasy film. The sense of claustrophobia is palpable, and it's just a very frightening experience.

Aliens is way the fuck overrated for me. So cheesy in comparison to the original.

Also, T1 is superior to T2 IMO. Same case as Alien and Aliens. T2 was just too over-the-top Hollywood cheesy. Still a good action flick, but TOO much. I much prefer the grittier original.

Yeah, all podcast one stuff is like that. Just use the fast forward function for the first two or three minutes. Then JR talks about random stuff that's on his mind, then there are more ads, and then there's the interview.

Hmmm... I was okay with the action in The Terminator because the pacing was pretty great overall and there was, like, that eerie thriller vibe at times. If T2 is more of a straight action movie, eeehhh. And kid acting, you say? Eeehhh.

As for Alien, I watched the first one a long time ago and was bored. I've always felt like I was in the wrong mindset and would really love it if I watched it again. Someday.
