Isn't it your bosses job to figure that out? Do you think taking you off future projects will help you better tackle future projects?

I don't see why we can't contribute to the improvement process, self reflection and identifying issues with an eye to improving benefits us as much as it does the team as a whole. Reprimanding us now means we might be more likely to pay attention and follow directions in the future instead of just fobbing off simple tasks.

That's crazy.

Both of those shows should be reviled equally.

The first season of IT Crowd was pretty good. None of the seasons from Big Band Theory were.

IT Crowd certainly got real average real fast though.

For me it went

Season 1 - Great
Season 2 - Great
Season 3 - Average (Speech episode is god tier)
Season 4 - Good

Unless one has more farmers than someone else in a region, because then (at least with the online version) only the person with the most farmers gets the points. If an equal number of farmers for each player, they share points.

e.g. If red had 2, blue had 2, green had 1, then red and blue would both score equally.

Least how that's how I understand it...

Huh... Guess I'm playing the old rules, even though I bought it last year because I'm sure that's how the scoring works in mine...

That is how we've always played it. 4 for the castles and whoever has the most farmers gets the points. Same as with roads and Castles.

Regardless of what I think of my bosses decision, my job is to do what I'm told.

Aren't cricketers (or most professional sports people) basically contract workers? Maybe they need to start thinking about their position as an employee and not refuse to do work just because they don't agree with it...

The first round of footy has finished and it's almost time for the next with the Eels vs Bulldogs on Thursday. What a world we live in!

I'm very excited that Kelepi Tanginoa has been named on the bench for the Eels. He just turned 19 this month and he's already a massive unit (think Fuifui Moimoi). I can't wait to see Loko on one side of the field and Tanginoa on the other, that's a menacing thought.

Also, I know there are a couple of Bulldogs fans here. If you want tickets to the game let me know, I can get them at a discount for you, starting at $10 + Ticketek's anal probe fee. I won't have to buy them for you or anything awkward like that, I can just give you a link and you can buy your own tickets. :)

Not sure if you're being Jase-esque or not :)P), but I was recently asked to install surveillance software on mobile devices used by staff at work, without their knowledge.

Domino's was a terrible decision but it is hot and I'm cheap. :(
I have leftover chicken katsu with golden curry... but I wouldn't mind some pizza.

Sounds illegal.

My understanding of workplace surveillance is that it's intended for the safety and security of the workplace, not the monitoring of staff.

I told my boss I'd been asked to do it, and that I was going to tell the other person who had requested it that I did not want to comply (made me feel kind of gross, TBH) unless it was found to be legal and the director insisted.

Turns out it's illegal anyway: http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/legis/vic/consol_act/sda1999210/s8.html

Cricket. I think.

Edit: Unless that was your joke too, in which case I hang my head in shame.
I saw what he was doing there.

Did you get a game changer
Nah just the cheap Value pizza. Which is usually like $9 but for Tuesdays it is $6. 1/3 of the pizza was crust and it looked like it had been cut by someone who had no hands. :/

Dominos is cheap shit though, they cleared out most of the staff so they could pay the lowest wages possible at most stores I know/knew.

I was asked to do that too! GPS devices in work vehicles to be correct. Thankfully my manager agreed with me that it was both illegal and would blow up in our faces if the workers found out about it. Just shows no respect.

I don't force them to go home and right up 3 reasons how our business can be more profitable though.

Also I want that katsu you lucky fuck :(

Good on the both of you!

I know AusGAF is full of brilliant and intelligent people so it should come as no surprise that things like the above would be questioned. I'm glad there are people out there like you who aren't just bowing down to every task appointed to them.

This right here is why I keep personal and work stuff separate (even though you didn't do it, other people certainly would).

Speedtest is busted.

And yet I can't even get a youtube video to play or a gif to display since work has done something stupid to their network and I have basically dial up speeds.

I see your 0.22Mb/s, and raise lower you a 0.06Mb/s

They probably have a bunch of shit trying to log your every move and block all the naughty shit. Probably poorly implemented too.

We shans gotta stick together. Been keeping busy?
It's been an enriching period of my life that I shall never forget. I liken it to Fry going without Slurm for any period of time. I'm probably better off with no (or even just less) GAF, but man, it just feels so good hooking it back into my veins.

Actually, I've been busy eating these:

I'm not wanting to sound like a douche and I'm not really familiar with Ty as a character, but will his face be animated a little more in the final product, or at least not look apathetic? It kind of just looks like he's scowling or doesn't give that much of a shit.

Otherwise it looks rad, though. Gave me a massive Cool Spot vibe!

All I know is that I'm going to eat some damn Schnitz while I'm in Melbourne, and drink some beer. That will keep me happy.
Mrs. Parma's has good parmigiana, so I'm sure the schnitz on it's own is equally rad.

PS. Thanks for saying "schnitz". You know how I get when people call it "schnitty" or whatever (fucking Holy).

The first season of IT Crowd was pretty good. None of the seasons from Big Band Theory were.

From what I've seen of the IT Crowd, the funniest actor got his own (half of a) show anyway.

mm I know hey, I've seen only 2 people working there before.

The few times I get pizza I check ozbargain beforehand (just searching dominos brings up results) and there's usually a discount running at the time for 5 buck pizzas or summin.

Oh my god, you have blown my mind. I need these in my belly right now.

You have no idea how awesome they are.

No idea.

I only really tried LLB as a drink for the first time a year or two ago... been kinda hooked since. The low/no-sugar Angosutra one is alright, but it doesn't beat the full-sugar one (and certainly doesn't beat the Frosty Fruits. I have a feeling it was a Slurpee flavour at one stage as well.

So it's still ages away, but it's looking like the main AusBronyGAF meetup at BronyCON Aus will be on the Saturday evening. We have people both arriving on Friday (jambo_sparkle_89) and leaving on Sunday (Shanshan_OMG_MLP), so it makes the most sense.

We'll probably do some other times too, as there's no reason why we have to do only one event, but this will likely be the big one.

For anybody that is attending and hasn't stamped their hoof on the Google Form, please fill it in.

We'll determine the time and venue for the meetup closer to the date, although it's almost certain that BronyCON Aus will either be near the Showgrounds, or around (or at) Crown Casino, given several of us out-of-townie-bronies seem to be within trotting distance of that area and it seems pretty central.

I am a BIG fan of this drink, but all pre-mixed Lemon, Lime & Bitters drinks are terrible. All of them.

These three ingredients are my preference for the best tasting version of it.
  • Angostura Bitters
  • Schweppes Lime Juice Cordial
  • Schweppes Lemonade
Mix those to a ratio that suits your taste. If you want something a little less sweet (though the Schweppes lemonade will help minimise this) you can always substitute the lemonade with some sparkling mineral water.

I had it "fresh" last year and it was obviously a lot nicer than the premade stuff, but in a pinch (which for me, is a LOT) the premix did it's job well.

If you used diet lemonade and that really nice diet lime juice cordial (the one in the glass bottle that's a kind of pee green colour) that would still suffice, wouldn't it? I mean, obv. not as good as full-strength everything, but it'd have to be better than premixed anything, I'd think.

What ratio, roughly? I assume the bitters is only 1% or something miniscule like that. but 50/50 for the rest or is there an obvious weighting toward one in particular that I have no clue about?

PS. Home-made LLB icypoles/icecubes. Think about it.

I don't use diet lemonade because I think, as bad as it is, the sugar is better than the artifical sweeteners and I don't want the Phenylalanine in them anywhere near my body. That's just me, if it doesn't bother you, by all means go for it.

I don't think there is a diet version of the Schweppes Lime Juice Cordial (if there is, i haven't seen it), and it is indeed the pee-green coloured one. It's quite strong and you don't need much of it at all.

I make mine like this: Throw a decent amount of ice in the glass (highball, preferably) to start, of course. The way the bitters come out of the bottle, I do about 4-5 shakes of it. Then fill maybe 1/6 or 1/5 of the glass with the Lime Juice Cordial and then top it off with the Lemonade. If you do all this gently, you get a nice colour gradient from the bottom to the top of the glass and it looks really nice. Of course it should be stirred before drinking to mix the bitters and cordial with the lemonade for a nice even flavour throughout.

Fixed that up for a bit more accuracy :)

Bickfords is bestest.

I'm sorry, these are the wrong answer. :p

Bickfords make excellent cordials. I really like their Lemon Barley, which is wonderful with water or with some sparkling mineral water for a bit more fizz and increased bite. I think Schweppes has them beat here.

At least we agree on the lemonade. Schweppes has everyone beat here, all others are far too sweet.
