I'm talking more in regards to it being big among the fans. Not the mainstream.

The mainstream will side with Iron Man. Geeks with Captain America.

And it absolutely will be a thing. RDJ and Chris Evans are going to troll the fuck out of everyone in interviews, and mock each other. Probably lead to them both on chat shows at the same time arguing with each other re: who'd win a fight.

I'm gonna tattoo both as a metaphore to my inner struggle and dual personality.

why doesn't Tony just fire his beam at the robot?

I would say he used a focused beam, so strong that would lessen his mobility, so he used Cap shield as a mirror so he could easily spread it.

Pretty much. He has always been a huge asshole, just a funny asshole.

Then you have truly seen Tony Stark...though in the comics he has a touch of humility because his body is usually way frail and his armors way more durable. Not lately though he's been in good health for a while.

The wrist lasers are a 'one-off' in the sense that Tony can only use them once each time he wears the suit. Using them drains a little chip in his wrists (you can see them ping out each time he uses the lasers), which presumably he can reload each time he takes the suit back to the lab.

That's only the Mk. VI; the lasers burn out after every use, and the cartridge is ejected. The Mk. VII has cartridges that don't burn out, so they can be used as much as they're needed.

Yup, in the Avengers NY battle he lasers away at one of those flying worms until Jarvis says that the suit will lose power before they penetrate the shell and the emitters fold back in.

The Ultron drones on the left look like they are stuck in a vortex that Thor is summoning. And I see Thor, Cap, and Tony all have scars and are dirtied up. But Hawkeye and Black Widow are all squeaky clean. Are they not trying or something? :)

Description of the Hulk vs Hulkbuster fight.

The scene opens with an armored police vehicle arriving on the scene. An incredibly angry and destructive Hulk is witnessed tearing up the streets, destroying cars and spreading all-out panic. Police, heavily armed with machine guns, openly fire on the Hulk to no avail. In the distance comes Iron Man, flying at super speed to the scene. ‘Hold your fire,’ he commands to the responding teams below. He is flanked by large metal objects that speed along through the air with him, keeping up every step of the way. We cut back to the menacing Hulk and all of a sudden, a large steel (?) surfboard-shaped object slams itself down in the pavement in front of him. Then another. And another. Before you know it, Hulk is trapped inside a giant, solid metallic ‘box.’ At least, that is, until Hulk smashes free and then continues his rampage. And then, it assembles — piece by piece — the Hulkbuster, almost in Mark 42 fashion. ‘The witch is messing with your brain,’ Stark tells Hulk. ‘You’re smarter than her, you’re Bruce Banner.’ This yields an even angrier response from Hulk and it’s on. Hulkbuster vs. Hulk. The Hulkbuster usually seems to have the upper-hand, as they drag each other through the streets, tearing up the pavement. At least until Hulk ends up on the Hulkbuster’s back, impaling the shoulder with a traffic light pole. ‘Dick move, Banner’ responds Stark as they continue to fight. Then the damaged pieces of the Hulkbuster fall off and are quickly replaced with new parts. Different parts. And now Hulkbuster is atop Hulk, Stark treating Hulk’s head as a punching bag, literally pounding Hulk’s head into the pavement over and over and over (much to the amusement of the audience). ‘Sleep, go to sleep’ chants Stark, but spoiler alert: it doesn’t work. Then, one of the replaced parts of the Hulkbuster, the arm missing a hand, wraps itself around Hulk’s arm and sucks him in and Iron Man takes flight, toting Hulk by the arm.

Speaking of that beam from Iron Man 2 - it looks to me like that's what Ultron uses to blast Tony in the trailer (one on each finger)

Thank you, sir! I wonder how this fight resolves itself. Description leaves it on a nice cliffhanger.
