Losing access to your entire digital library due to a ban should be illegal, regardless of the platform. This is insane.

It should be, but it won't be. It's all written in the user agreement, which no one reads and everyone agrees.

In this case, I would recommend contacting Reddit - Stellar Blade, since the ban was received through their game. If possible, interest their community manager, most likely they will ask to provide all the information and a screenshot. But I think if they don't see anything scary in your post, they will be able to make a request to Sony and unblock your account, provided of course that you didn't write any nonsense in the post =)

I've been permanently banned from PlayStation Network for using the official photo mode in Stellar Blade. Apparently, the automatic upload feature flagged my harmless screenshots as explicit content.
Despite multiple appeals, Sony has refused to lift the ban. This has resulted in the loss of over £40,000 worth of games and complete access to my PSN account.
It's truly absurd that a simple use of an in-game feature could lead to such severe consequences.

That said, I find it very hard to believe it was a snapshot from a game that explicitly allows you to take… uh, risqué pictures the one thing that got you banned.

Yeah, unfortunately a single bulletproof solution doesn't seem to exist, which is maddening in this day and age. I'm not sure even physical media can save you if someone really wants you out, there's also been rumors about platform holders being able to brick your console. Laws to protect consumers from such situations are needed yesterday, but most politicans struggle to even use the internet let alone understand it.

With Xbox it's at least easy to talk to a human being. At least in my peasant times chat or phone support was excellent, remote access included.

Well OP I hope you learned a valuable lesson.

I'm still pissed about an unjust permaban in Black Ops Cold War over three years ago that pretty much permanently derailed my COD career. I suppose I probably spent a few grand on the franchise, I double and triple dipped on the majority of the yearly COD release to play with different friend groups in the pre-crossplay days. Activision support gives zero shits. I did only lose CW access, including single player which I hadn't played yet. Aside from that I still have access to all the other games as they do per game permabans. But the indignity of the whole thing has made it that I didn't load up any COD for 3 years until I tried the new Blops on GamePass, but only played a couple of hours solo. My friends that are still on COD ignored my Discord posts for the most part and apparently have all splintered into new groups or just left the game themselves so there's really no going back at this point anyway.

With 60k spent you might actually be able to get some social media traction, but aside from public pressure, yeah they give zero fucks. These companies treat every customer like scum. 20 years of purchases means jack shit to them.

100% illegal in Australia, and it would be illegal in the EU as well. Not sure how it's legal where op lives US yes UK I don't think so. User agreements mean fucking nothing it does not supersede jurisdiction law.

The issue is Sony has the worst customer support on the planet and you cannot talk to a physical person.

Btw I'm nobody , if you could at least reproduce the picture in-game, that would help boosting attention to your case. Its sad but as other people said, getting online attention is one of your best bets. Post this on asmon subreddit or the stellar blade sub or wherever it may get attention (not playstation subs since i've a feeling they'd try to shift the blame on to you given the levels of fanboyism there)

Not to burst the "just get PC" bubble, but this isn't just a PSN thing. Searching google you will find many posts about people getting their steam account banned "for no reason". It happens just about everywhere and is the result of companies using crappy bots to save money. I often see threads like these used for disguised platform warring and I think it's a really shitty thing to do to someone hurting after essentially losing their entire gaming collection. Not talking about you specifically.

You can at least pirate all your games back if that happens

Pretty standard numbers for game collectors and active players. Especially if a person started collecting from the time of PS3 or PS4. Plus, people who collect trophies have about the same numbers, if not more, they generally buy up everything they can. Now a new trend has emerged, Sony has recently been adding a lot of Gacha games to PSN, and a new category has emerged - there aren't that many games, but microtransactions have been purchased for $10,000-$15,000, before this, it was mainly active FIFA players who suffered from this =)
