Friend recommended the game, checked gametrailers review, metacritic seemed really positive.

I think I'll be picking this up soon :D

If by soon you mean now, then I think you are making a good decision.

This game has so much polish and atmosphere in it, it is crazy...

I'm really liking it a ton. I'm hoping they are hard at work on a sequel with Two-Face, Penguin, Clayface, Catwoman and Ras Al Ghul

Joker would have to make some kind of appearance though, cause his voice acting in this just adds a ton to the game.

I'll be buying the sequel day 1

I'm not sure where (maybe at gametrailers) but some site claimed that this would be the last time Mark Hamill would voice the joker.

Yeah, I heard something about how it's getting hard for him to do the voice because he has to strain.

Disappointing but easily understandable. One can imagine that this Joker's particular voice takes its toll on the ol' vocal chords after a while.

Spoiler alert
The last video (after the end credits) certainly suggests a sequel, although who knows how long until it actually comes out. Either way It's going to be tough topping this game lol

Regarding Ra's:
His body is no longer in Dr. Young's Morgue after you beat the game. ;)

Bane
is one tough bastard on hard. When the damn
henchmen
start jumping down, you have to multitask your ass off. It's a good little challenge.

How, HOW does Mark Hamill do that perfect joker laugh? Every time I hear it, I get chills.

Major bummer if this really is Hamill's swan song as the joker. I loved TDK, but Hamill's joker has to be my favorite.

next batman game with some coop action would be sick! maybe with robin, nightwing, or even batgirl(before her injury). put in some batmobile tumbler style and you'll got a winner!

I love how when you go to the Visitor's Center
it switches to first-person and stays in first-person. The perspective really lends an air of creepiness to the "inmate" at the end of the hall. Amazing. Not to mention that every time I've gone back, he had another joke. The doorway changing to The Joker's gaping maw was fucking sweet as well.

Just another incredible touch in an absolutely incredible title.

I'd worry over whether they could retain the core gameplay with any kind of co-op mode. Maybe for the challenge maps. I could see myself getting into that. I wouldn't mind a Rocksteady-developed, standalone Nightwing game, though! Or Azrael.

I love the claw of needles they gave scarecrow so that he's like Freddy Kruger...his parts are def my favorite.

I've only been through two of those so far, but you're so right. They designed the whole nightmare scenario incredibly well.

Hamill goes through phases like this, he did it with Star Wars where he would not have anything to do with Luke for a while and he wouldn't sign any Star Wars stuff for a while.
I think when he sees the positive reaction that the game and his performance in the game has received he will definitely be in for more if the story is good.

No.
I have to honestly say that this statement makes me think that you did not even play the damned game that you are in a thread responding about.
Co-op would ruin the very foundation of the game and one of the major things that makes this game so great.

I agree with you completely. This game is very similiar to Bioshock in which any multiplayer component is not needed whatsoever. It's a single player experience, and it shines as one. (However, I hate comparing it to Bioshock because Bioshock becomes stale after a while, but this game is flowing with personality.)

I think this game is going to sell really well. It was sold out at Best Buy/Futureshop and EB. Guess that $38 price tag helped quite a bit here in Canada.

Heaven forbid you move your camera away from him while battling the goons :lol

Yeah someone recommended that to me when was playing... and it would ruin the entire mood of the game.

Though curious how a sequel will work, the ending hints at one, but would it be Gotham wide.

I for the life of me cannot find the vent entrance to

Anyone have any ideas?
Head into the room where the two guards stay at, as soon as you walk in there will be a vent to the left that you use the batclaw on.

Ya, Walmart sparked a price slashing war, and everyone was down to $38 even if they didn't normally price match.

The game is great, but it still has a few issues. For example, one of the first in-game cut scenes while escorting the Joker into Arkham has the Joker's chin visibly clip through his chest a few times while the camera is zoomed on his face.

i cannot stop wanting to make posts saying how amazing absolutely every part of this game is.

It's like the game creates a need to evangelize to all you meet: i want to preach its merits in every thread on this forum. It creates almost a religious fervor in me it's so incredible.

ok, I have a ps3 and this damn game has been installing for 16 minutes... is it stuck or is this the longest install in the history of man kind? The pictures are still flipping through but it says: Installing game data...

I think the end of the game became a little repetitive. You're no longer seeing new areas and are required to backtrack further distances, and navigating becomes more of a chore (due to
the poison ivy plants blocking pathways etc
). They also repeated the same combat encounter a bit too much too quickly imo (fighting
the titans several times which was already similar to the Bane fight
). You could see where some corners were cut during the level design of the
Killer Croc segment
which was like one room copy and pasted 100 times.

It's still an amazing game, but much like Bioshock, the final moments weren't quite up to par with the rest of the game IMO.

hahaha, I'm getting too sucked into this game.

I just met
the scarecrow
and I was on the edge of my seat. It's about to start storming in austin and I didn't know, and right as that section climaxed, a HUGE roar of thunder and a flash of lighting went off, and I nearly pissed my pants.

FUCK this game rules.

Did anyone else purposely
get seen when Harley was holding Commissioner Gordon
just to see what would happen? It was just what I wanted. :lol

I know how you feel. :lol My friends grew tired of my hype-then-praise soon enough, however.

That said, they all have the game now.

Its a long install, but 16 minutes? Is that hyperbole? Because that seems too long.

But it DOES take a long time.

no i literally started at 08:03 and i cancelled it at 8:22... trying a few new things but it doesnt seem to be working out. Keeps rebooting my ps3. gonna have to delete the game data that was created. Never had this problem before. I hope it isnt my beloved 60gig launch! :(

So I picked up the PS3 version and I'm getting some slight jitter in the cutscenes. Anybody else? It wasn't present in the demo. Incredible game nonetheless.

I hate to quote myself but the post got stuck on the end of the page. Has anybody heard of or had any issues like this at all? Something tells me it's because of disk access and I hope it is isolated to this game.

A friendly word of advice. There's a entire series of games out there with Metroid in the title...you might want to just steer clear.

It just installed and I am having the same issue. May need to delete my gamedata and start over...

I noticed this in the opening cutscene.

I thought maybe my PS3 was overheating and got worried, but it hasn't done it since. I think that portion of the game might just be poorly optimized.

I'm finding it difficult to know exactly when it's safe to turn off the console? It's really easy to miss the saving icon and if you've collected a bunch of stuff and want to turn it off, you risk having to repeat some treasure hunting.

Fantastic game, but the Joker is repeating those random voiceovers and it's starting to grate on me a bit. Wish I could turn him off like that announcer guy in Crackdown.

At the same time, some of the stuff he says has me cracking up. My favorite one so far, and I'm paraphrasing, is "The batman looks like an idiot, sounds like an idiot, and walks like an idiot. But don't be fooled - he really is an idiot."

The delivery of that line is so spot on :lol :lol
