Batman Arkham City New Game+ confirmed

I think that guy was more excited about New Game + than even players. :P

It's always a cool feature, and particularly when the game is balanced to be even harder.

I didn't need any more reasons to want this game, but I'll take it!

Although just replaying the first one on a harder difficulty was perfect for me, this is even better.

*ninja edit because that sentence made no sense the first time...*

I don't understand why new game+ isn't in every game (that it would make sense for).

well, personally sometimes it.. doesnt make sense.

Like when at first he mentioned i was like "what's the point, the game is open world and youre supposed to be able to get everything (including collectibles) in one playthrough, there's no choice or anything like that"

but then he said stuff changes and its harder, so yeah, in THAT regard it makes sense on a ton of games, but.. its more development time, its not just simply putting the character at the start of the game with everything they got, that's the lazy way to do it and there's not much point in most games, some guys are obviously not gonna do it.

How did Rocksteady get so good at this so fast?

Seriously, are they a super team like the people who made Hard Reset? According to Wiki they only made one decent game on PS2 5 or 6 years ago. Then they bust out with one of my favorite games of all time? Now a sequel that looks like it will replace Arkham Asylum on my list? Do we have any idea how much money WB is funneling into them? I don't see how they can be so awesome.

basically you start over with all of your gadgets but this time around you also need them since stuff in the second playthrough change, like enemy patterns and some of the help you got from the GUI and whatnot. So basically New Harder Game+.
What is this witchcraft.

I realize the enemy configurations change too but do you guys think they might be cutting out "Hard" difficulty in favor of New Game Plus mode? Because well, Hard difficulty in the original game already removed the flashing indicator above Batman's head signalling you to counter.

Then again, he didn't say anything about damage to Batman being modified in New Game Plus.

Either way, this truly is amazing news. I've played Arkham Asylum from start to finish on all three platforms (360, PS3, and PC - triple-dipped, motherfuckers!), probably beating it five times total. New Game Plus sounds like a fantastic idea.

This was the first thing i thought of and i still have my doubts.. but then again i dont if it would bother me much. As long as they dont cut Hard though, im talking about just the counter indication.

I still doubt it, so we'll see.

So it's very similar to OoT's Master Quest, except maybe even better. Fuck yeah I'm down with that. One more reason not to regret my pre-order. As if I needed yet another one.

Stop doubting. Believe.

I doubt it means they replaced Hard. It probably just means that New Game + will also take the Hard mode features as its base, like a lack of a counter prompt, and also do other stuff. He realizes most people will go through the game first on Easy or Normal, so that's why it would be notable to point out that NG+ has no counter prompt.

If they make a bad design choice, Batman reaches out of the dev kit and punches them.

BTW, what's the money on Arkham City running close to GAF GOTY. Pretty good I would expect.

It'll be great for sure, but there's some stiff competition this year. Portal 2, The Witcher 2, Arkham City, Human Revolution, Skyrim, Bastion, Skyward Sword... it's a great year really.

Mmmmmm... THAT'S how you do NG+

It'll be a race to the finish... Dark Souls is carrying the hype from Demon's Souls, a new and supposedly "fresh" Zelda in Nov., as well as Uncharted 3 and plenty of other fantastic titles are being released in the next few months. I've never been this excited for games coming out in a long, long time.

I reckon as good as this year has been, money for the GOTY will be on a multiplatform game for sure. So Arkham City, Portal 2, Deus Ex will all be in the running.

it's like the wayne industries themselves are financing this game.

I bet there are a few gaffers in the rocksteady dev team, cause damn do they know how to please the gamers

I'm sure doing the opposite of what GAF suggests/wants usually warrants for a better game.
