Batman: Arkham Shadow impressions videos:

You have to if you're a fan of the first Arkham game or batman in general. It's literally a requirement lol

I guess 150% is the "safe" resolution bump. Pretty crazy how much this game can be pushed when you're not worried about battery saving and you have an extender.

Does this run at 72 fps? Wow. It feels so smooth considering that.

Awesome. Gonna bump it up to 150% when I play tonight. I didn't find the base resolution all that bothersome, TBH.

I noticed that too, it feels higher. There are slight hitches but on the whole it overperforms. Even dialing up the resolution drastically it has overhead. It'll be interesting with patches to see what they can do. This is the first true Quest 3 game by a good studio.

And no, the default resolution isn't bad at all.

Be sure dynamic resolution is on if you bump it up.

Man, Meta made it a pain in the ass to change my PIN. The webage was getting an error on my computer. I had to go through the phone app.

They also made it a pain in the butt to get discounts now. You have to follow each other.

I've been playing for two hours with small breaks, I sm exhausted, fighting makes you burn calories, but the game is great. I hope they start releasing more games like this, then VR will become worth it long term

The combat is so good that its sneaky in that you don't realize you're working up a sweat

Quick tip with grappling. If you tap the A button instead of holding it, Batman won't hang on the edge. It's time consuming to pull yourself up every time.

Gah, another game without teleport. Very well made but beware if you can't stand joystick based locomotion
I prefer Teleport, But I think I've developed my VR legs enough to handle it. I just can't handle smooth turn. I have to snap turn.
Does it have snap turn?
I bought the game but have not yet had time to install and play yet. Maybe tonight or tommorow.

I ordered a better head strap because the strap that comes with the Quest 3 is crap. The headset keeps pressing down on my face and making it hurt.

I got the Bobo with rechargable batteries. I can keep one in the charging dock and one on my strap. Swap when needed. Works pretty good. But kind of expensive.

On the same boat here. Someone hack it to run on Quest 2 even if it lacks shadows and runs at 30fps, I can take it, LOL.

Could happen. I saw it's sort of running on Quest Pro with huge dips already to the 30s. I can't personally stomach that low lol

Yep, I bought it with the strap already because I knew it would be a pain in the ass to use the one that comes with it. The elite strap is really confortable and if you have a power bank you can put it too there and have plenty of battery

Played a wee bit. Awesome stuff so far, although I'm finding the combat a tad frustrating, I wish there was a "free" combat mode without having to follow the "pattern" each time

That would go against the Arkham formula. In the first hours they keep it real simple though, but don't be fooled, it ramps up to a level that's pretty varied.

I know I know, it's my lack of skill that's why im whining about it haha. I love the arkham games and this feels like a direct sequel rather than a standalone VR "experience" which is amazing.

A tip I learned unintendedly was for countering. If you see the counter icon appear, do a quick 1980s backfist in the direction of the icon. Seems to work better than doing a big swinging motion.

@1:22 is sort of the backfist motion I use to counter and its way easier

yeah hot-swapping batteries off their charging stand is the way to go, love my Bobo setup

How have achieved this on Quest3.
Other devs must be looking at this in disbelief. It's amazing visuals.

What battery do you use? I use a hallo battery strap and I'm lucky if I get an extra hour

I have a Bobo S3. The battery is the Q3's biggest issue and the S3 fixes that along with other issues. It's a pretty hefty investment but you have to remember that the strap comes with a sizable battery so it kinda evens out.

It pisses me off that we never got to see what Ready at Dawn can do for the Q3. Lost Echo was an amazing game. As for other impressive stand alone games, I'm waiting for that updated port of Doom 3. It looks like crazy good.

I'm waiting for Quake4.

100% agree -- I love fast stick-based movement in VR and have no issues at all with sickness, but smooth-turning is an abomination, only snap turn works or even makes sense.
I actually prefer smooth turn... I just turn the speed up. it's way less jarring to me than snap turn. Every game should have both options in my opinion and usually do anyway.
