Can someone explain how the Ground Pound move works / how you do it? I beat the game and got every riddler trophy / physical challenge complete, but I never even heard of this move till I was watching a video of someone doing one of the riddler's revenge challenges and he just said "you shoudl always do ground pound at the end of each round"
It's a knock-out move where Bstman jumps on top of the enemy and literally punches out the mofo

I have the ps3 version, so it's R2 + triangle

You can only do this move when an enemy is knocked to the ground. Save the last enemy for it because most of the time it triggers the enemies to rush you and interrupt the move

DeathbyVolcano said:
I feel like I've done that move every single time I've taken on more than 4 enemies. Why is that so special?

Apparently in the ranked challenges the score you get is based off your combo multiplier, so if you build up a big combo, finishing with a ground pound gives you a ton of points.

Papercuts said:
Yeah, it's 75 points x the combo mulitplier, in AA it was the main way to get points too.

lol I never paid attention to this (despite getting the Platinum)...it was always my instinct to use the special combo moves as finishers

You can pretty easily hit the score cap either way, but to top the leaderboards you need to do ground takedowns constantly.

Yeah, hitting the score cap is ridiculously easy. About halfway through the campaign challenges, predator expert ones scare me.

I just beat the main story, without catwoman. Man, this game is simply amazing. You feel like Batman, and I honestly had few complaints at the end. I thought it was the right length too. I haven't done many side missions, but I feel like that's a good thing, because now I can focus totally on them.

BTW, the credits were too damn long.

Doing the side missions at the end is a great idea.

btw I have spent at least...30 hours on this game now? I just rewatched the Hugo Strange trailer again, and I still got hyped. I need new skins, now
I think I have spent around that. I wish they would show how much time.

I tried the very last predator expert one first, just for shits and giggles (the one on top of the Tower), and man I couldn't last more than about 10 seconds lol. 2 or 3 shots and I was dead, and it was impossible to not be seen. No idea if I'll ever beat that one, maybe after I go through the rest of all the missions I'll be able to handle it.

Except the AR training ones.

God damn that upgrade would've been useful if I'd gotten it before I beat the game. It makes getting around so much faster, easier, and more fun.

Cant believe I almost sold the game before doing the side missions. Many are as engrossing as the main game. I wish there was more to Mad Hatters mission as he is a awesome character and is voice work is amazing. Make sure you listen to his audio tapes of Dr. Strange interviewing him.

Going to have to pass on the Riddler trophy hunt and challenges though. Way too many damn trophies and it really sucks you have to find them to get the rescue missions for the hostage which puzzles are for more compelling than hunting those damn trophies.

Yea i honestly think they overdid it on the quantity. I actually 100%'ed the trophies but ill tell you, near the end i was getting really fucking tired of it. About 30% less would have been perfect.

Luckily I did those right in the beginning.

If I can do it you can. Trust me, I'm not that good a gamer. Patience is key. So is trial and error.

I just wish there was much more to the story. I just want more.

I'm having a bit of trouble deciding how I feel about this game. I like it, but there are a lot of changes that I'm not entirely happy about. They didn't ruin the game, it's still awesome... but I'm leaning towards liking the original better.

- I don't really like how it's moved from a more room-based Metroidvania type world in the first game to a more open world like Assassin's Creed. I didn't think I'd have a problem with this, but I do. It's not as fun to explore. It's harder for me to get a good mental visualization of where everything is in this type of game.

- The interiors are so much smaller than before. They were the meat of the first game, but it feels like there was much less focus on them this time.

- Combat is technically better in a lot of ways, but I feel like some of the things they introduce later on really complicate things beyond my comfort. There are enemies you have to stun to attack, okay, but then you have other enemies attacking you while you're in the cape stun animation, and apparently you can't counter out of it. And all the quick deploy gadgets are just well beyond what I'm able to think of at once. I was able to do the achievement in Asylum for doing all the moves in one combo, but there's no way I'd be able to do that in this game.

- Predator sections seem to have been toned down considerably. There aren't nearly as many of them, and the ones outside just aren't the same. On top of that, the ones that are there just don't seem as fun as the ones in the first game. And I can't tug guys off ledges anymore.

- There's so much going on in the story from minute 1, it's hard to really take it all in. Maybe this is just me.

- Similarly, there's so much going on in the overworld. Side missions and Riddler trophies everywhere. It's overwhelming.

- On that note, I'm really annoyed that you can't clear out the overworld of enemies for good, like in the first game. Having to worry about getting shot up by some guy you didn't see makes exploring for trophies considerably less fun.

I think the crux of a lot of my... I don't want to say complaints, because I really do like this game. I guess thoughts. The crux of a lot of my thoughts is that they made the game BIGGER and BETTER and MORE COMPLEX, and, for me at least, it wasn't always for the better.

On the other hand, the boss fights were a million times better than the first game. Freeze was easily the best, though, which was interesting, since it wasn't at a major turning point in the story, nor was it BIG AND BOMBASTIC AND HOLY SHIT LOOK AT ALL THIS STUFF GOING ON ISN'T IT AMAZING like the other major ones.

The first set of AR missions is the first thing I did in the game. I posted then that I felt it was a mistake tying such a useful traversal upgrade to an optional set of challenges that some might not care to do or simply give up on.

Anyone who doesn't get the grappling boost will have a far less enjoyable time traversing around the open world, not to mention a more time-consuming one. They should have probably just given you that ability from the start.

Didn't seem to give anything but experience points, and I think an achievement/trophy if you care for that sort of thing. There's definitely no upgrade tied to the advanced set.

You can counter out of a cape stun, if you do the triple stun on a Titan the enemies around you reset their attacks so you don't have to counter them

You totally can tug them off ledges, the ones outside I thought were really fun since you could if you wanted to glide into people a lot easier and with the glide-takedown I could go in and take out 2-3 guys in one move and then grapple away and go about it like normal.

Collected the last Riddler trophy today, moving on to the challenges. I'd go for 100%, if it weren't for the campaigns. Don't know if I want to complete everything again after doing it all once.

This is a strong game and I commend Rocksteady for mixing it up a bit for the sequel, but overall I feel it was a vastly inferior game compared to the original.
AA as a whole felt tighter and more coherent, while AC went all over the place and lacked focus. In AA, they didn't go overboard on villians and made most if not all encounters memorable. In this one they went with such a big rogue gallery that even some of the big hitters only got marginal screentime and felt underdeveloped. What I feared when I watched the teaser trailers really came true : too much villians/characters, not enough time to develop them all. The story jumped all over the place and ended very abruptly.

The Metroid-ish feel of the original was completely gone here, and getting new toys wasn't nearly as satisfying as in the first game. Who doesn't remember the Batwing crashing through a window to deliver the line gun in the first game? I missed moments like that here.

They put more effort in the Riddler-stuff this time around, but I don't think anyone would've complained if half of the trophies was cut. Instead put that time and effort into making more substantial sidequests. I will say I got a kick out of
the Hush appearance
though, tease for a major part in Bats 3?

May seem like harsh words for a very fine game, but I definitely feel a more closed off environment worked better for Rocksteady. The logical next step for them is Gotham City, but I'm not sure if bigger is better here.

So... is there any way to
get the Catch achievement without having to throw a remote batarang at Azrael?
I suppose I could start new game plus for that.

This is exactly why I like this game so much more. Backtracking is the fucking devil. Of course the story was tighter in the original, but that is nowhere near enough of a detriment to me when I actually feel more like Batman getting to use the abilities I have in a less claustrophobic environment.

The amount of villains works for me. You don't get everyone, but you get a lot, and it fits, story wise. It's smart making one of them deal mostly with Catwoman as well. The side missions with lesser villains felt just brisk yet involving enough to feel worth it. And the combat is much better to me. There wasn't one part in this game I'd have a problem with, or cringe at playing again. I have several in AA and that's why I'd never go back. It was a very good game overall, but once was enough.

You can't create the same vibe as in AA. basically having the big bads carving out there own sections of terror in the same way, but I felt this games tone was more cohesive. I'm outside flying around this gorgeously torn down city, and on the inside, the villains kinda make do with what they have. I dunno. Just works for me better. I'm actually kinda stalling on finishing up a few things left to do in the game hoping they'll announce more story DLC soon ish. Rather not get burnt out before that stuff comes. Uncharted 2 took my personal GOTY in 09. Unless U3 blows me away, this game has it so far. Even over Portal 2....blasphemous.

With all this people complaining about the game being dispersive I wonder what's going to happen when story dlcs will pop out...I mean, this is a game that does everything right: graphics, sound, gameplay, ties to the prequel, content, replayability and people still find faults with it.
Unbelievable. Un-be-lievable.

You see
him briefly at the beginning of the game as Bruce Wayne. After waking up and breaking out of the chair he will be in the next room fighting a couple of guards.

No game is perfect or above criticism. Not a single game exists that couldn't be better in some way or another, and discussing things we don't like about games we do isn't a bad thing.

I have a couple of dozen Riddler trophies left to get. All side missions done, except for the last (?) Riddler part.

So I look at the challenge rooms for the first time, then I see the campaign thing... am I alone in thinking this might all be a bit too much? It's just daunting to see the campaign screen, it looks like I need to get a zillion medals or something.

I think Uncharted is coming at a perfect time, I need to step away from Arkham for a bit or I'll get burned out and frustrated and stop playing for 6 months like I did with AA.

Sorry to bump the thread and double post, had a look at a Riddler trophy guide but I can't seem to find this one.

I'm on a rooftop to the north west of Amusement Mile and to the west of the GCPD building. It's the building next to the Gotham Casino.

This is one of those that requires you to use the electricity charge but the cage the ball (with the trophy) is vertical and I can't seem to bring it up because that electricity machine thing (no idea what it's called) is also blocked by a cage. What do I do?

Catch achievement: I think that's the only way to get it. You can get it shortly after starting a new game. Clear the courthouse and he should be outside, standing on top of one of the buildings in front of it (the one on the right).

About the villains, you can also talk to them as Catwoman. As I mentioned before, I felt sorry about the one you mentioned =(

About the riddle, I don't recall any electricity generator/machine/thing being blocked by a cage... Activate Detective Mode and see if it's connected to some switch. If so, you know what to do. If not... Maybe you should look for another place to shoot at it? Or is it actually completely blocked from every angle?

@Lakitu: I don't know if it is the right one but is underneath water? If so use the freezer gadget to make a platform then aim at the generator from underneath, even if it's hidden by the fence, there's a sweet spot right at the upper edge where you can use the electricity gun,

Yeah, I'm gonna try that. It's a short opening anyway, so I'll do that sometime this week.

Hehe great, I'm going to try that as well.

Yeah, I pretty much tried everything. The AC motor (so that's what it's called!) is blocked pretty much at every angle by a cage. Except for the top, but I finally did it. That one was really bothering me.

Thanks for the swift reply.

Yeah, this worked, thanks a lot. I did what you said and just made a platform towards the wall opposite it and just used the electrical charge on the upper edge of it.

Anyone know how to the riddler challenge where you have to aerial assault one stunned enemy and then jump to another? I have been trying for a while and it's the last riddlers challenge I need for batman.

I can aerial assualt one guy and hit another guy right after that and keep a combo but that doesnt seem to be working.

Do B+AA to do the aerial assault, and then hold the left stick in another guys direction and press X. Just go to the aerial assault move under the select button and it will tell you there.
