Batman V Superman Final Trailer

I was going to hate-watch this movie...

But for the first time, I'm legitimately, sincerely hyped to see this. ESPECIALLY for Batman to go ham. Like holy shit, this could be the most badass Batman ever put on film, and I'm being completely serious.

Purely anecdotal, but the guys sitting next to me earlier today during a screening of The Force Awakens said, "That looks fucking stupid," upon viewing the BvS trailer. This after reacting positively to the Gods of Egypt trailer. This is their target audience, ffs.

God, I hope not. I would hate to think they're targeting Batman v. Superman at the kind of people who think Gods of Egypt looks remotely watchable.

Surprised no one has over-analysed WW's line to say she'll be really bad/really good.
First it was Batman back when Ben was cast. Then it was about how shitty Wonder Woman was going to be with Gadot. Then until recently it was Eisenberg who was miscast and was totally gonna fuck up Luthor.

All those bets are waning... Now we're on Superman and how much he's going to fail in this movie.

I just want this movie to have a post-credits scene that plays out like the diner scene in Superman II.

"Gimme another plate of this garbage."

Holy shit. I finally caved and saw this. Just what I always wanted, Batman fighting like in the Arkham games. Even if this movie winds up meh, I'm positive the fight/action scenes will be top notch. Can't wait!

This trailer was pretty good, unlike the previous trailers. But if I didn't know better I'd think it was a Batman movie where Superman has a cameo.

I don't think it would be a cameo, but remember supes has had an entire movie to introduce him in this universe. Probably the first third of the movie is Batman heavy, because they are just introducing this new iteration to the general audience.

Can someone add the following caption to this gif, pls?:

BATMAN HAS PREP TIME AND
SHIT JUST GOT REAL

That is the look of someone that realizes prep time is at hand. Batman always pwns Supes... ALWAYS. Give Bats enough time to prepare and he can take out anyone and this movie is no exception.

Batman has never actually pwned Superman. Least of all alone.

You sure Bobby? It's late and you're probably tired. Let's talk about this tomorrow.

Having Batman & Superman tussle is traditional and honestly to be expected. Any superhero meeting another superhero traditionally includes said superheroes boxing each other up a little. I don't mind that.

But when the tussle becomes the sole focal point of every aspect of the marketing, including the mandating of a shitty title, and said tussle causes over half the film's runtime to build up to it? I think that's maybe a bad call.

Basically, when you conceptualize your film starring Batman and Superman as Batman VERSUS Superman, you're not doing yourself or the characters any favors. You might still turn out something interesting, compelling, and fun. But after Man of Steel, the decision to make everything about finally getting Batman & Superman onscreen at the same time for the first time in history framed as an adversarial, angry throwdown?

That's a bad call, Ripley.

The movie might still end up fun and interesting - but that's a bad call. Not least of which being that, as we've already seen, people who don't know Batman & Superman always fight a little before becoming friends (said people do exist, I guess) will be angry and feel bait & switched that "Batman v. Superman" isn't even really about Batman fighting Superman, in the end. It's just a bad situation all around. Not an insurmountable one. But as per most of Zack Snyder's filmography, the motherfucker refuses to make it easy for himself.

Eh..I don't think it's so bad, apart from the shitty title. From the perspective of the character, a short throwdown wouldn't really make sense. Bat sees Super as some Godlike alien, and obviously wants to take him down. Supes sees Batman as some crazy vigilante. Having it be some small confrontation for maybe 30 minutes of the movie seems like too little.

It's kind of a lose lose situation really. At that point you have to have them fight, and how can you not market that? It's Batman vs Superman for gods sake, of course they have to take advantage of that marketing power.

Also, having the confrontation last the entire movie, for it to end with them finally seeing eye to eye and then having the credits roll is bad as well. People should come in knowing that yes, they will join forces in this movie, imo. I'm glad Doomsday was shown, so that they can't complain about being bait and switched.

Quick question: Batman was confirmed for Suicide Squad, but did Affleck actually sign on on that? Does it even take place after or right before BvS or might it be with a younger Batman cast instead (Eastwood?).

There's no way they put in a different (younger) Batman in SS. It comes out a few months after BVS? That would cause so much confusion to the general audience

IIRC Ben was seen on set of Suicide Squad

Greg Miller and Nick Scarpino break down the trailer... point out some interesting stuff

He has a nice freeze frame of when Batman enters the room with the grapple and you can see him throwing these red LED devices onto the thugs guns. Then later in the trailer he's in the rafters and uses his left hand to press a button on a device which sets off the gadgets and the devices throw off sparks and disable all the guns, which then allows him to jump down and fucking WRECK those guys. God I can't wait to see this scene play out in full.

It's pretty clear that Batman launches gadgets on the guns (they are laser tagged, you can see the red dots on them) then perches up top to disable them. That part is shown later in the trailer where the guns are exploding.

That whole sequence was very Arkham-esque. Snyder has been playing some games!

Edit: Beaten I guess.

Dunno. All we know (unless something changed that I missed) is that a stuntman playing Batman was filmed in the roof of Jokers car for that chase. If the story is entirely framed as following Joker/Harley for that scene, Bats could just be a cameo there and Affleck wouldn't need to be involved. In all likelihood though, they will need him at least for some insert shots, and if they're doing that he may well have a bigger role.

Edit: Beaten, guess he was there, so I was right and he'll likely have a bigger role.

this isn't satire btw. lmao

What? How is that anti-woman? Also, their suggestion for a new line has no punch to it. Kind of deflates as it leaves the mouth.

The line is even in the movie, Superman has the power to wipeout the entire human race.. You can't fight a power like that, unless he feel sorry for Bat and let him win.

*run*

Good to hear Wonder Woman finally speak. Also wow at opening fight. I can not imagine Keaton, Clooney, Kilmer and Bale Batman being that capable. This could be best live action Batman actually showing a great use of gadgets and fighting.

Seems like I've been waiting ages for this film. Glad it's only next month, but still wish it was out now.

I really don't understand why based on this trailer, which is just images without any real focus, people all of a sudden think this movie looks good.

Probably because of those images with no real focus.

This isn't the film pretending it's going to have a worthwhile plot. This is the film reminding the audience that Snyder can shoot some spectacularly cool looking, 'That's exactly what I want to see on the big screen', shit.
