Batman V Superman Final Trailer

He was completely contained in that environment though. In BvS he's still out in the open in our planet's conditions. Snyder himself has said he hates kryptonite so it wouldn't surprise me at all if he changed what "kryptonite" is and how it effects him.

Another thing to look at is Zod. Zod adapted himself to our conditions and had no trouble going back and forth between them.

Hmm, I guess the painful reaction only happens once when a powered kryptonian naive to exposure is placed in that atmosphere. Supes definitely had a rough time when he was initially depowered. You're right though that with this being out in the open and with how quickly he recovered once his space dad reverted the atmosphere in his cell, this is probably something that works much differently.

He's not wearing hockey pads.

It'd be an interesting application of Kryptonite if Superman never actually knew it was in use until he tried to use a power. It just... depowers him.

I don't know if we've gotten that one before. Usually it just makes him quail and go weak-kneed visibly. The idea of using it as a total nullifier that he can't even tell has been applied until he attempts a power and fails would be a new twist

Well I mean, Iron Man fell from space basically and crashed on Earth to no ill effects.

It's just something I've come to expect from guys in armoured suits.

The cool thing about that is that it would let Clark still be resourceful and be able handle himself, not just useless and sick when Kryptonite is around

That's why I'm wondering if the punch comes after a "What did you do to me scene?". It might be a low enough dose to choke him and bring him to his knees and that punch might be a desperate one thrown right before Batman teaches Superman was 'prep time' means.

Even if Snyder dislikes kryptonite it's clear how much he likes TDKR, and that was a key moment in the Batman/Superman fight in that.

Superman still seems pretty capable of using his powers. That scene in the stair well is obviously after the blocked punch because Batman gets that face punch off and has Supes backed against the wall. Then Superman flies up and pushes him down. That would lead one to assume that he's depowered but not entirely. Just enough for Batman to get some licks in.

Well that's red sunlight or certain types of Red K.

Would it be cool or less cool for the movies to support different types of Kryptonite, or just have the one catch-all version?

such a good trailer compared to the second trailer.
Focuses on the fight without giving anything away.

Man, that second trailer spoiled the movie so much for me.

If it was just trailers 1 and 3 Id go watch at theaters... now unless reviews are amazing, I won't bother.

There's some crazy versions of kryptonite out there *paging Slavyn*

In "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?" by Alan Moore, he gets depowered permanently by gold kryptonite. iirc, he ends up marying Lois and lives life as normal human.

You should re-arrange this in chronological order, and add the missing scenes:

Beginning three cuts with the Batman beside the spotlight, Superman landing, and Batman inviting him look fine.

Next cuts should be Batman meeting Superman face to face, then Batman being pushed back. After that is the scene with Superman telling him to stay down. Then the gun firing, and the gas grenade, then Superman emerging from the gas, then Batman blocking the punch.

The next few cuts are fine with Superman being stomped through the building (and you could add the scene of them running at each other here), then Batman punching him, then Superman taking him down again.

Final cuts should be the explosion (pretty sure the actual explosion is captured in one of the trailers with Superman right in the middle of it), and then Batman breathing heavily as Superman approaches him before he launches him through the building.

Then everyone can complain they've seen the entire fight already when they see it in the movie.

Someday I would love a movie with Black Mask in it.

latest
Arkham Origins fucked up so badly with using him. We could have had an interesting game about the gang corruption in Gotham during Bruce's earlier years since by the time it takes place there's only a few of the Rogue's Gallery existing with Black Mask hiring assassins to take down the one threat in his way down and after Bruce defeats them all, setting for Black Mask but no, we had to deal with the shitty twist.

This is such bizarre thinking to me.

Well that's red sunlight or certain types of Red K.

But we've never actually seen any of that in the movies before. It'd be pretty new compared to how its typically presented. I don't see them bringing in all that Kryptonite shenaniganery with the multiple colors, so simply having the green rock act more or less like a red sun without needing a red sun would be interesting since we're used to green rock meaning sweaty gulpy Superman.

Watching the trailer again, I'm sure the action sequences will be fun. But I hope they don't drag on like in MoS. Seeing people punched through buildings is fun but it eventually gets old.

I know that debating physics in a comic book movie is pointless, but it doesn't really make sense that the armored suit lets Batman stop a punch from Superman when the Batmobile bounces off him. The Batmobile has more mass and power so if the suit can do that, the car should send Superman flying. Unless its kryptonite and/or Superman isn't really trying.

Seeing as this scene seems to draw a lot from Dark Knight Returns I'm kind of disappointed that Batman's suit isn't plugged into a lamp post, that always made me laugh.

It is a Snyder movie. Compare to 300 and Watchmen and you will see that Snyder's definition of "just a man" is ... complicated
Kind of a silly argument to bring up when Iron Man survived hits from both Thor and Hulk, both of which should've reduced him to mush.

Man action movies have men (and women) doing damn near superhuman feats even non comic book based.

sorry if this has already been brought up...

but, does anyone else think that it's a bit.. interesting, that Batman believes in the Cheney Doctrine? otherwise known as the One Per Cent Doctrine, as coined by Suskind?

http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/story?id=2120605

This is what Batman says about Superman in the trailer:

This is a really interesting choice, and not one I would have expected, but this is no coincidence. Also, the rationale is quite flawed (read the linked piece, it's short but gets to the point). basically Batfleck is a hardcore neocon, if this is how he thinks.

Worth noting that this isn't limited solely to neocons, there's a school of thought amongst... god, I can't remember the name of the group. But the idea is, the number of all future humans is infinitely greater than the number of currently living humans, so we should take any actions we can, no matter how costly they are to avoid extinction-level events (no matter how unlikely they are), because in the long term it's actually more moral.

So it's not necessarily the Cheney doctrine, which is the above applied to geopolitics.

If Batman was really a man, then when Superman pushed him in the beginning of the fight, he would've died due to the impact on the back of his head.

But he's not a man. He's a machine. Like Dolph Lundgren in Rocky IV.

Affleck Batman is nearing his 1000lb benching, peak human comic counterpart. One of the ads has Bruce doing a ridiculous weighted pull up.
What's the point of all those pull ups if he can't even beat Superman?

Honour and pride mean a lot to martial artists, and I feel Batman has let them all down. Money isn't everything friend.

Now i'm picturing Alfred freaking out (HE'S CUT!) when Superman bleeds.

No pain, Bruce. No pain.

Surely, but both 300 and Watchmen features the most ridiculous of these, specialy the Watchmen fights with them breaking bones like it was papercraft

We even get the training montage. BvS really is a Rocky IV remake. Superman is Rocky, and Batman is Drago. While Batman does weighted pull ups and used manufactured tyres, Superman does a more natural form of training such as absorbing the nutrients through the atmosphere.

Luthor is... I don't know who Luthor is. It doesn't matter. Remakes are remakes because things are changed.

I like this analogy. Forget TDK. This is the one. Man of Steel is Dragonball Z, BvS is Rocky IV, and Wonder Woman will end up being Terminator. Justice League is Avatar.

It would just be the red sun lamps in a different color.

Why isn't this a real thing?

What if Batman created kryptonite and Lex somehow got hold of it and perfected it.

apparently in the movie *big spoilers*
lex has kryptonite in his R&D HQ, and Batman breaks in to steal or get design plans to create one himself. Wouldn't surprise me if Lex himself does a 'leaving bread crumbs' kind of tip for Batman to steal it and use it against Superman. Apparently he wants to get rid of both Superman and Batman (he knows Batman is Bruce Wayne) this part is purely speculative on my part. First sentence was an old Faraci rumor so I don't know if it was rewritten or whatever.

Luthor is Mr. George Washington Duke. They're including him in this remake.

Son of Krypton vs Bat of Gotham. Old lion against young lion. Only in Metropolis.

Watched Deadpool tonight and was disappointed that they showed trailer #2 instead of this one. I wanted to see the Batman fight scene on the big screen!

BvS is more Rocky III speed. Superman rides his motorcycle, throws his helmet at his statue. Batman yelling "HEY, WOMAN!!" at Lois. Drunk Jimmy Olson destroys a Superman Pinball machine. It's all there. Final act has Batman transforming into Apollo when Doomsday assumes the Clubber mantle.

Seeing as this is taking more ques from comic books, I would wager a guess that that isn't just some bullet proof armor he's got on.
