Batman v Superman - New Official Trailer

Still don't think Batffleck will do any good as Bruce Wayne/Jason Todd/Batman

Also looks like another film where the villain is the most interesting aspect of the movie and I can't stand Eisenberg LOL. But his scenes in the trailer were gold (even though he's in his 30's he's making Lex look in his 20's).

Looks so bad, these crossovers are killing comic book movies. I'm just thankful we got 3 decent Batman films from Nolan before it all went wrong.

The trailer should've ended after superman says "what have you done" with doomsday's roar and a black screen. Should not have shown him and the rest of the stuff after.

I guess the reason the hate is so baffling to me is that this trailer was a notable departure from the previous two and that was a very pleasant surprise to me. I'm a big DC guy, so I was hyped for this thing from its announcement and I definitely liked the other trailers but I never thought that they would really hype up anyone who disliked Man of Steel, they just seemed like more of the same.

THIS new shit seems like the kind of thing that your DC cinematic universe skeptic would be more intrigued by. Much better dialogue, interesting character interactions, a villain that isn't angry all of the time, Supes and Bats not being 100% serious at all moments. I'm sure all of the above points will be separately quoted, bolded, gif-reaction'd and guffawed at because people have different opinions and thats great. But I am personally much more interested in the film now.

Dude. I think you hit the nail on the head as to why I like this trailer so much.

When was the last time that a major villain in a comic based film was kept secret? I mean no one knew the villain was in the film until he appears on screen? Doomsday being in the film was going to be reveled at some point.

The synopsis basically points to another villain in the film not named Lex.
Talia from DKR

People actually think this film, of all films, is going to tank.

isn't
the joker actually being in the film, rather than just being hinted at
most likely going to be the main surprise anyways? maybe there will be more too.

It's called Batman vs Superman, not Justice League. They could at least try and keep up the illusion.

I'm sure Marvel will do the same shit with Civil War because audiences are stupid

No, on Winter Soldier. Why would you base it on anything else?

... you do realise Marvel has confirmed Civil War's villain is Baron Zemo, right? They're making a very similar film

Yeah... didn't feel it all. The previous teaser was way better.

I still think Affleck is a great choice for Batman but Eisenberg... yeesh.

Marvel at least has the benefit of having established the MCU so having characters show up in the non-Avengers movies makes more sense now. DC is just going whole hog in what I guess would be the 2nd movie in their cinematic universe.

Decent trailer. They showed way too much though. Doomsday does not look good. Tonally, they need to make up their mind with what they're going for. I feel like it's a mix between 'The Road' and 'The Man from UNCLE'.

I know? That's exactly my point? They're probably going to give the "twist" away in the second or third trailer, just like DC/WB did with this one.

What twist?

Neither is a twist. Audiences expect to see heroes team up against a villain in the last act. It'd be a twist for them not to.

Argh. Whilst I love more footage of Wonder Woman they still didn't let us hear her talk. I wonder if we'll ever hear it in a preview or have to wait until the film is released.

I wish Wonder Woman wasnt in the movie. Oh and I forgot that Cyborg and Aquaman are in BVS too... :|

I'm fine with this. All credible rumors have said that Wonder Woman steals nearly every scene she's in.

Also this might sound crazy, but I think this cinematic universe is going to get better over time as they introduce more things because of this guy:
Geoff-Johns-660x495.jpg

Geoff Johns was brought in as executive producer after Nolan walked and WB started to pull away from David Goyer's treatments. He's done great things for The Flash on the CW and should be a sign that WB/DC could faithfully and entertainingly pull from the best in comics. Between helping punch up Terrio's revision of the script and the fact that he's co-writing with Affleck for a Batman film honestly gives me hope as they continue to add more and more stuff.

That showed way too much, fuckin hell. Basically rendered all the batman vs superman tension they've tried to build up to now completely moot.

This gives me hope-I've loved reading all of his comics.

So much hate wow.

I think it looks great.
Yes, agreed. I'm a bigger Marvel fan than a DC one but what I saw here looked great. I think the movie looks gorgeous. I honestly would like both companies to succeed, I'm just a fan in general of comic book hero movies.

As far as the trailer itself, I liked the scene when Clark meets Bruce for the first time. The smirk Bruce gives when Clark asks him his thoughts on the "vigilante" and then Bruce's reply which caused a really awkward moment for Clark was great. You could cut that tension with a knife.

Also really dug Affleck's Bat voice, gritty but not over processed like Bat Bale (which I admittedly did like). I was worried when I saw the trailer's length before I watched it, thinking to myself man I hope this doesn't give away too much. I have a feeling it may have but I was just too interested in seeing it.

Definitely want to see this though.

Spiderman and Black Panther arent established. And then they have to do mini character arcs for the 15 some other heroes in there fighting too? Sounds unwieldy.

What doesnt make sense is Captain AMERICA not coming to rescue the PRESIDENT. Or Iron Man not helping against HYDRA helicarriers literally aimed at him. Batman, Wonder Woman and other heroes coming out into the public after Supernan starts attracting these world ending threats makes more sense to me.

I respectfully disagree and think that the dialogue is completely in line quality-wise with most generally well-received comic book films.
I completely agree. The content of the dialogue is fine. Having re-watched Revenge of the Sith, I have seen the true nadir of movie dialogue.

People are stupid because they're going to see a Captain America movie that has most of the established super heroes?

I'm not sure I get your logic here.

No, because they somehow feel the need to resolve the conflict between the heroes (Bats vs Supes or Cap vs Stark, respectively) in trailers already instead of keeping the third act under wraps.

I'm not going to watch this, but why do all YouTube personalities insist on putting some screenshot of them making a wacky face on their videos? It's very off putting.
Markiplier is the worst offender of this.

How? Were people seriously not thinking they were going to team up by the end or something?

Apparently not. It's like they don't know what superheroes do or something.

It was amazing...

...whenever Lex Luthor and Wonder Woman were not on screen. Worst casting ever continues to be terrible, at least on trailers and photos.
