"I got to know one of the writers really well, Chris Terrio, and we were able to discuss things at length and figure out who this person is to create a real psychology behind what is, perhaps, in a comic book, a less than totally modern psychology. I can only say I've been asked to play an interesting role: a complicated, challenging person."

That sounds like they did a LOT of rewriting when Eisenberg was cast.

No, I think that means that Lex Luthor- as a comic book and movie villain- has had slightly more cartoonish psychology in the past and- true to the spirit of Man of Steel- they're trying to flesh out a more grounded, realistic psychology for the character. It shows where Terrio's head is at and that's extremely encouraging.

I get that.

Just saying that it seems they didn't even try to use Goyer's script to hook him, he got offered the part without even being shown the script. Like 'we want you for the role, we'll sort the script out after you're cast.' Which is good. MOS felt a tad rigid, and wasn't playing to the strengths of someone like Fishburne. Being more flexible and working with the actors should hopefully mean their strengths are accentuated more.

Hopefully that means they use Affleck's sense of humour to give playboy Wayne some life.

I'm convinced the Morocco location was a rider in Affleck's contract so he could indulge in gambling now that he's been blacklisted from American casinos. ;-)

Serious Sam is a wicked gahbidge series for chowdaheads.
I think we should all just be thankful for the eventual Funny-or-Die parody of the movie that has Luthor played by Michael Cera.

I only know Chris Terrio from Argo which I thought was fantastic albeit a very loose depiction of what actually happened. Still entertaining as hell.

But then I thought...

Well shit, I liked Marc Webb from 500 Days of Summer too, and he makes terrible Spidey films.

Of course, one is a director and one is a screenwriter. I just, I'm scared you guys.

This movie is getting all the stars aligned for it to be something truly special. I can feel it.

And that Aquaman can have my children.

If there's one thing I can absolutely guarantee about this movie, it's that the trailer will be pure, unleaded HYPE.

Potential Lex Luthor spoilers...
The diner is famous from Byrne's run in a scene characterizing Lex Luthor, seen in this gallery (not my scans or link):

That is a great story. Fuck Luthor.

It's hard to see Eisenberg perform that same sequence. He doesn't have that blustery tough guy look that Luthor had in Byrne's Man of Steel. But it's a clear homage and I'm very interested.

It also came back to bite him during his Presidential campaign
the lady from the diner shot him

We've seen pictures of Clark in "Superman mode": super slicked back w/ a part.

It appears that Clark's hair will be messier/less well-kept. Add all that with the glasses/bigger clothes, it'll be separate.

This was just a knee jerk reaction guys.

Only Clark pic I've seen

Looking closer at it, it is slightly different but...
... judging from what I've seen (not how it will be) ..slicked back hair, tall buff dude compared to slicked back hair, tall buff dude with no glasses isn't fooling anybody. (In that Clark shot is hair doesn't look all messed up)

Hopefully the final product will be less like the end of Man of Steel where Supes just puts on glasses at the end and more about Cavill's performance on convincing us this is 2 separate people.

Going by what you said they will have (bigger clothes, messed up hair), I'm expecting something like this

oh I would have kittens if they did that scene.

Holy shit. That's an interesting way to introduce Luthor. It also works well with Eisenberg in my head. Very Social Network.

yeah.. but I will always picture an older Luthor doing that. it's no biggie I suppose Eisenberg can pull it off.

To be fair the problems with TASM are mostly the result of studio executives forcing changes and shitty producers like Avi Arad.

I actually think Eisenberg will be the best Luthor in live action (because he was already playing a better Lex Luthor in Social Network than Hackman or Spacey ever did), but yeah, that scene would play as more arrogantly dismissive than intimidating from him, I'd think.

Why Batman must be some sort of bodybuilder nowadays ? I really miss the Michael Keaton vibe...

I mean... we have never gotten a properly jacked Batman until now. Bale was in good shape, but far from bulky.

The character spent a decade training his body to be perfect for fist fighting crime into submission. He shouldn't look like a pussy.

Not only that, but being able to punch through bricks/walls and things like that.

Does Bruce Lee look like a pussy? While I understand the bulk evokes strength and power, it just isn't necessary, or practical.
