Depends on what speed he's going into. Supersonic, his chi crushes the ground around him. If it's just a slow hover he can do it with minimal collateral, like right before the Zod fight

My hope is that the color grading Warms progressively movie to movie as Clark Makes his journey from Clumsy Amateur to the the symbol of Hope he aspires to be.
That could make for a very nice transition.
