Batman vs Superman: World's Finest Three-Year Wait

I hope we get a few scenes of Superman just flying around saving people. I watched Superman Returns yesterday and that was one of the things I liked about it.

I'm thinking that's how they kick off the movie, a "superman solves people's problems" montage with a news cycle narration over it.

wtf, people are saying they get free tickets to the movie next year and get to watch it a week earlier?

Thanks a lot for Canada dropping the ball, pathetic to see only one theatre step up for this event.

That would be neat, and a perfect way to slide some origins in there like "massive thunderstorm at Central City" as well. If I'm remembering the rumors right, Flash, Cyborg and Shazam aren't super heroes until JL and Shazam will be after.

I'd imagine the time jump is a year or so, they have that memorial built at ground zero. But yeah, definitely want to see Superman stopping a bank robbery or a train collision.

MoS Suit had them, they were just washed out by the filter

They were less "squared", more natural looking

I honestly can't wait for the inevitable showdown between Superman and Black Adam. Watching Cavill go toe-to-toe with the Rock be will something to see. I'm curious if we'll end up getting that in one of the Justice League films.

Well actually for Zack.

And I guess over the past week, we've crossed the nexus! Going from waiting for any morsel to having a teaser, posters, costume pics to pour over

Let's hope... we're now at the point where they are more open with discussion and not like 3-4 months of radio silence until SDCC

So, I'm very late to this, but are they trying to hint at Batman "turning bad"?

If you go to youtube and search for BvS trailer impressions/reviews you'll notice that it's 50/50, half of the people think it's Superman who is turned bad like people saying " look how Sups let people worship him and have his own army" and the other half of people think it's Batman that is turned bad and says "Batman killing people with the Batwing, omg Alfred said he is cruel and not a good man anymore" .... clever Trailer.

Yeah, I got the feeling that a "Red Son"* kind of conflict is going on here - then again that's the only Superman comic book I remember reading.

*
In "Red Son" Superman's space-crib lands in soviet russia instead of the US, he eventually replaces Stalin, takes over most of the planet (iirc) and comrade Batman is a resistance fighter.

Henry Cavill Says Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Isn’t a ‘Superman Sequel’

“I wouldn’t call this a Superman sequel,” Cavill tells MTV. “This is Batman vs. Superman so it’s a separate entity altogether. It’s introducing the Batman character and expanding upon the universe which was kicked off by Man of Steel…. Everything could change in the editing room, but as it stands it’s definitely an introduction to the character and ultimately an introduction to Justice League.”

We more or less knew that already, but noteworthy to hear Cav-El on the film.

With Avengers out the comic movie eyes are now on this. AoU apparently didn't deliver which I think will make things easier for this one, not because of competition, but because people will be more open to alternative forms of cbm. I bet the hype train will be crazy around january, we were bombarded with info this past week!

Think he's talking about the... not negative... I guess lukewarm reviews and impressions from a lot of folks.

It's good, but there

Ah, I hadn't been keeping up with impressions. I will spoil myself with DCCU movies because I know the history pretty well so not much they can do to surprise me. With Marvel, I know very little from the comics so I try to keep spoiler-free until I watch them so I avoid reviews and impressions.

Didn't deliver?

Everyone is saying it's more of the same. We'll done, but hardly brings anything new. I expected as much, and I'm sure it'll be like Avengers where each viewing has diminishing returns. I liked Avengers well enough, but seeing it more than once, I get a headache now haha

The movie is good, just not worth the hype, and when people say its plot is not as "good" as A1, I start to get worried. The Age of Ultron lasts half a week and stuff. The Russos have the MCCU for themselves now.

Anyhow, let's curb this

Not meant to be a place to slander MCU films... or libel since written.

Though on a similar note

I think it's wise that DC is going with Suicide Squad right after BvS because it helps them establish an universe of villains right away

And hopefully have them spread out into the heroes' solo films. Since I do think something Marvel has struggled with outside of Kingpin.

That Suicide Squad idea was genius. It stablishes villains, cements the universe, reaches out to casuals (as the title Suicide Squad doesn't scream COMICS). It will work out ok.

I don't have a whole lot of hype for AoU to begin with so I'm sure it will be fine. Civil War and Infinity War is what I'm really interested and excited for.

And yea, I'm greatly anticipating Suicide Squad. That's just a cool thing to have be a part of the first "phase" or whatever. Along with Wonder Woman.

Honestly, I'm just stoked we are getting all of these movies. Some people may complain of CBM fatigue but I've been waiting my whole life for all of this. I feel like a kid.
