edit: Couple interesting call outs on the Turkish Airlines site. Clocktower, Amusement mile in Gotham. Disappointing lack of an Iceberg Lounge. Metropolis has a Shuster Arena and Siegel Music Hall, Schaffenberger gallery.

That Gotham is superb. The boardroom shot looking out at the city already feels more like comic Gotham than the version in TDK/TDKR (Batman Begins Gotham was ok).

Problem is he gave Gotham a decent look in Begins and then TDK was just Chicago.
Im not just saying hey make it dark, cloudy and rainy. Gotham needed to be expanded like it is in the Gotham shot as well as unique architecture here and there.

The problem is Nolan wanted to use straight film wherever he could. The imax shots of Gotham in TDK are jaw-dropping. Its the type of clarity they couldn't achieve with the CG at the time. Some of the city plates for Gotham in Batman Begins looked a bit blurry and muddy, but the narrows looked good. It had that run down, blade runner vibe he was going for. I don't mind the contrast. Gotham should be a thriving city with a corrupt, decaying underbelly. Nolan gave us both. It looked the worst in TDKR though, all things considered.

I kinda disagree. The narrows looked like obvious sets and the CGI buildings looked equally fake. It was odd.

The realistic, down-to-earth city of TDK fit the movie perfectly.

Burton's batman can be a killer, joker killed bat parents and penguim is a mutant.

But if there is one thing that Burton got it right is Gotham. That city looked like it could created the most insane criminals and a vigilant that wanted to dress like a bat

Both Burton movies are great but especially Returns visually, I don't think its visuals can ever be topped as far as super hero movies go.
