Can't help but feel disappointment for the wasted potential behind this game. Especially if the rumors are true. 1 map and 1 operator for all of this time between launch. Hopefully there is more than that but not expecting anything other than a small content drop.
 
I respect the attempt, but man, I really do feel like it's too far gone. I truly do. I really wish they'd just give up on this, and focus on the next Battlefield game with a new/different perspective.
 
This is going to be an absolute shitshow and a massive disappointment. I'm in for the lulz and the memes.

I'm expecting a huge shit show but I'm hoping they turn the game around somewhat. I didn't buy it and I can't say that this would change my mind, but I'd definitely give it a crack on game pass if it turned up.

Oh and DICE, get rid of the fucking Specialists, they're shit!
 
chances of this saving a deeply misdesigned game which has already been abandoned by 99% of its playerbase: Zero.

Yeah lol. It seems they were trying to get the 'hero' crowd into the game, but instead just lost more of their old fanbase.
 
Looking forward to seeing what this is about. I genuinely hope it's a great update that brings people in. I actually enjoyed the game when it released and played it a good amount before my EA Play Pro sub expired. Didn't end up buying it because my friends were playing other games.

The game definitely needed some work, but I don't think it deserved a lot of the backlash it got. The team seemed to actually care about the game and was making efforts to improve it. It's a shame because we're finally back to modern era Battlefield but people seem to have shunned it for whatever reason. The biggest issues I had with the game were broken hit detection (quickly fixed), OP hovercrafts (pretty sure they were quickly nerfed) and no scoreboard, which was recently added.
 
I can highly recommend BFV. They turned that game around and its a pretty good shooter.
But beware on PC because there are alot of cheaters (EU).

Maybe they can do the same with BF2042?

Imo it will come to PS+/GP with S1

Well they basically released a half-finished game. Then spent the last 7 months bugfixing, adding pretty much zero actual worthwhile content, no maps, no weapons, nothing. Losing all the momentum and pretty much the entire playerbase in the process.

The game is dead and there's no coming back from it.
 
This game needs a complete fucking overhaul, it isn't relevant to most people and has zero mindshare. One new map and a specialist is not going to cut it.

They can fix the game, but at this point it's probably not worth. Insane, they should have delayed the the game for 1+ year

Basically Dice's MO post BF4.

Release broken mess of a game. Spend 2-3 years patching, reworking and adding content.

Abandon the game as soon as it's a quality product to release the next overhyped broken POS.

Battelfield 1&V, Battlefront 1&2.

They should try and get one right from the start.
 
i'll get hate for this but rather just see a battlefield hardline 2 or some return to the bad company series. battlefield i feel is way too sterile and takes itself too seriously, the bad company /hardline aesthetic definitely lightened things up and made the game more fun
 
Just put the Bad Company maps with Rush front and centre.

Fired up portal with bc2 maps, had to start my own server cause no one else there. They look a treat, and the destruction seems to be all in tact.
 
For the 6 people in the world still interested in the game, just wait for EA Play or Game Pass.

Based on BF1 and BFV timelines, 2042 will hit sub plans sometime this summer. Maybe July. Just wait it out.

Sounds like I chose well just sticking with Battlefield 1 then.
 
1 map, 2 vehicles, 1 shit specialist and 2 fucking weapons... after 8 months

Im more excited about the 1.0 (lmao the number) patch release tomorrow, it has some great things that should've been there day 1
 
What the hell are these "Seasons" these FPS games tend to go for? I see them on COD, Fortnite etc, but I have no idea what they actually achieve. I never remember them in the original Modern Warfare and it didn't hinder my experience. I played the living fuck out of those games. What do these seasons achieve for modern FPS's?

Sounds about right. Every time I log into the newest COD (which ain't much) I keep getting bombarded with new season shit, yet I have no idea what it all means. I just wanna pick my character, build up their weapons and play a fucking level. Is that too hard to ask for today?
 
Faster movement speed? Isn't it fast already?

Bf 5 was in a better shape than this when they "abandoned" it. They should've stick with it. They are probably making content because of legal worries, like everyone said. Sad sad times for this brand.
