Battlefield 6 Beta |OT| Open Beta/Closed Weapons.

Somehow the game crashed my TV + sound bar audio lol

The game looks good (aside from shadow resolution) on the Pro. Can't show it because the GAF image uploader is temperamental today.

The stuff they're giving away for playing/watching the beta fits the theme of the game and looks cool. I'd happily buy a couple of bundles to support the game if it lives up to expectations. You don't need Nicki Minaj or teletubbies to get people to buy skins. It's just lazy.

I played 7-8 matches so far split between PS5 Pro/Steam and it's amazing.

On PS5 Pro I'm getting anywhere between high 90s and 120 according to my display counter in performance mode which is pretty good. On my PC (4070S/5600x) I'm getting roughly the same but set to 4K Max Settings which is great. FG pushes that up to like 150 but I only played 1 map somehow over and over and over again so other maps may be different.

This game is insane, bf3 and 4 back, level design, speed, weapons gameplay, just perfection, didn't test on gamepad yet, only kb/m but it is incredible.

No purple or green neon chars, amazing!

Hit reg is definitely fucked, had two separate instances where my pistol shots didn't land in a dude ducking right in front of me.
Hopefully these issues are not as egregious as they were in 2042.

I never threw on an fps counter but my cpu cooler sounded like it's just as cpu intensive as 2042 which kind of sucks.

I actually use ray tracing and turn off dlss just to lower fps in 2042 to quiet my cpu a little. I've thought of upgrading but apparently it still uses a lot of cpu even with x3d chips.

The pistol is a bit of a pellet gun anyway. First thing I'll do when I get the game is see how long I have to wait to unlock an M9 or a revolver.

Doesn't matter, if shots are not are not registring there is a problem.
But this isn't new to the franchise unfortunately, I remember having issues like this in every BF game since 4, apart from 1.
2042 seemed to be particularly bad though from the videos I saw back when it released.

Feels a lot like a mix of BF3 and BFBC2, I love it!

TTK is a little too low and should be adjusted a little bit but I love eevrything else. I can tell I'll really spend a long time playing this game just like I did with classic BF games like BF3 and BF4. I think it's safe for me to preorder now. BF is back :messenger_sunglasses:

Haven't bought a physical copy for any game since early PS4, so it doesn't matter much either way for me.

As for sub-services, they a waste of money that's only worth it for paywalled multiplayer and even that is debatable.

Got a code from having a stream opened in the background at work. Took some reloads of the website to get said code, but eventually I got it. Can install when I get home and will try to play a few rounds later tonight. Hopefully it's good.

Works good on PS5 pro here.
Did have a weird video glitch where the mountains were flashing rapidly black on and off

Spotting changed to L1 which makes it difficult when aiming down sight so switch it to R1 and have your grenades on L1 yall

Weird I don't have an option to play but I should have access to the early open beta, all I get under the play tab is this is Alpha, legal notice, share your feedback.

Anyone else getting this and have a solution?

Still not feeling it. This feels very COD like. Very fast TTK, corridor maps, it's just a mess. There's no strategy whatsoever.
It's complete and total fucking garbage, they just skinned over 2042. Reading all these posts feels like I took acid. Love it.

I'm waiting for BF4 to finish downloading on my Xbox so I can detox from EAs marketing and play an actual fucking BF title.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say Arc Raiders will be awesome, seems anyone with a brain at DICE went to that studio.

Played a quick match on my lunch break. Seems good so far, very much Battlefield which is fine in my book. Much slower movement compared to 2042, which is what I wanted as 2042 felt ridiculous for that reason.

Not sure I'm a fan of grenades instantly flying out of the player, I prefer a slightly slower animation. That's something I can get used to over time though.

Played on PC on Balanced settings (whatever that means) and averaged between 80-90fps (3080 10GB, 32GB, 12700K) without DLSS. Turned on DLSS balanced and was hitting 100+FPS no problem whilst still looking great.

I'm going to give this a go on PS5 Pro tonight. I think I'm going to go console for this one so I can turn off cross play and hopefully avoid any cheating.

I respect that. What I wrote is factual though. I could have added almost no recoil.
This and 2042 feels like expensive Chinese/Korean clones of Battlefield, it's uncanny.

I kind of want to play that Delta Force game to see if it's true, I bet it feels the same as this. Wonder if EA secretly outsourced a shit load of stuff to Asia.

I'm calling shenanigans, the boys are a little too pumped for something this mid.

I switched over to Engineer and this is good shit. I used to play a ton of engineer back in the 3/4 days but stopped with 1/V/2042. Taking helicopters out of the sky or getting a lucky RPG shot on a jet is so satisfying.

I want to play some more on controller though as I've mainly been playing M/KB. Sometimes I just want to sit back and relax.

I'd rather spend two dollars than watch some random guy on twitch for a half hour.
Just put it on muted in the background? People spending money when they have a bread dead easy option astounds me.

Eh, it's factual in that you feel that way, sure.

Corridor maps have been in the mix in BF for awhile. There are also open maps. The flanking and strategies from old BFs are still very efficient here as well. Also, unsure of what weapon(s) you've used, but I've felt plenty of recoil.

I don't know how this drop shit works or how to link my twitch account to my bf6 account. I was up last night googling it and some kid in the twitch chat said two bucks on cdkeys. Problem solved.

Not sure about the beta maps man. They kinda fucked up giving us the smaller maps. Battery is pretty bad, cairo is decent. Barely played the other one, but i know the manhattan map is small af too. The 5 maps better be big thats not in the beta

Hmm, so odd. I've never experienced this before with anything else, lol. Maybe I'll just chalk it up as something that'll get patched or something. I saw some steam discussions mention it too.
Did you check the advanced graphics button? There's a bunch of shit turned on there by default such as vsync for instance. Disabled a bunch of stuff and feels super smooth now (and no more input lag).

Edit: nvm

Yeah feels exactly like BF3 and BC2. Steadily getting more and more hyped tbh.

played a couple games

maybe im getting old but the chaotic nature of the gameplay is a huge turnoff. I barely have time to get my barings and in sniped in the head or crushed by a falling building every 15 seconds.

The map where theres a road in the middle lined by buses really pisses me off, its just a sniper fest. The entire enemy team just hiding in buildings picking me off over and over 💀

hate to say it but I think it's a pass for my old ass

Dude this game is amazing .

It's very heavy on my 5090. Everything maxed out at 4K with dlss on quality or balance I forgot I am getting 200 frames.

But man is this game stunning or what ? I had to leave for work but this is 100% my main for this year . I am skipping buying call of duty this year for sure in favor for this . The fact that I can also play it on steam without ea app is an added bonus ( not that I have anything against the ea app but still )

Impressive shit. I can't wait to get back from work and play again

I appreciate the reply man, it ended up being frame generation lol. I turned it off and everything was perfect.

Maybe play Breakthrough? Very clear frontlines and areas where people spawn.

This is 2042 all over again, this rules.
