Battlefield 6 Beta |OT| Open Beta/Closed Weapons.

The spotting definitely needs some work....the big problem is that It doesn't just spot enemies you look at. Even if they're just within your peripheral vision it will sometimes spot them and alert you to their presence.....so enemies that you'd normally miss because you're distracted or focused on something else will suddenly light up with a big marker on your screen.

The suppression is pretty much nonexistent. You can be spraying a sniper with a LMG and they'll still get a perfect headshot on you. Case in point:

They should have taken the suppression mechanics straight from BF3/4 as it worked best there. That video you posted is one of the top reasons I'm not buying the game, recon is OP and suppression should be pushing them to retreat which it doesn't. It essentially makes taking some points extremely difficult and attacking on breakthrough almost impossible, unless the entire team are well coordinated, which just isn't going to happen in a game like Battlefield.

Everybody hated suppression back in the day. You cant win with this. Same with closed vs open weapons. There are people on both sides

Look at the comments. They are so fucking stubborn. Instead of doing a server browser so everyone can find their own fun within seconds, they creating more problems with this custom search shit.

So what is the consensus on M&KB vs Pad these days? I am much better at it with a pad but the alt feels more sharp, I dunno. Anyone with thoughts?

I'm looking forward to gyro being implemented in the retail game. It'll help a lot with fine aim on PlayStation. Hopefully it's as good as the gyro in The Finals coz that's done really well.

Depends on what you're comfortable with. M&KB does have a much much skill ceiling and gives the player way more control. And you don't have to rely on aim assist which translates to all games and not specific ones. Only thing holding you back is your own aiming skill.

If you have the space and a good setup I'd try getting good at mouse. You have way more control over your aim. Whether flicking or doing micro-adjustments and generally much faster aim which is very useful for CQC where controller players fumble about trying to get their AA to lock on. With keyboards you gain again more precise controls with individual bindings and more granular movements, especially if you have a hall effect keyboard.

Is there official word? I know a gyro activation binding has been in the beta (was also in the alpha when I played it as well) but it's never worked.

Man I'm so good at this game LMAO. Consistently top 3 every game. Managed to get 65 kills this morning lol. Being able to disable cross play and avoid PC gaymers ( AKA cheaters ) is a godsend.

Game is fun.

I played the beta and honestly don't know if it is good or not. All I know that is after an hour I didn't want to play anymore to be able make a considered decision.

This is usually due to SBMM, if there are a million people playing the game then finding a match should be instantaneous.

This weekend has been noticeably sweatier than the last...

Well pad gets a completely different recoil pattern, and aim assist, so take from that what you will

Aim assist doesn't look over powered like CoD snap and track shit. Most console players who wanna use M&K will no doubt use a xim, since recoil is easy mode and aim assist and M&K.

I sincerely hope for the sake of EA's legal department that they don't include a map editor with this game. Microsoft would crush you.

Is there a simple TEAM DEATHMATCH in this game? A mode where most kills wins? Only objective is to rack up kills????

if not whats the closest thing to it?
Yes, there is, it used to be called Squad Deathmatch, but it might be TDM. They replaced rush with that and all out warfare.

I'm enjoying the beta, but the maps seem too small, but I'm going to hold back until maybe the Christmas sale. I've been burned by BF ever since 2. Everyone has released in a janky, bad state. This one seems different, but that is how it always goes.

Xim is considered cheating in quite a few games not worth it. Chances are you might get caught with Javelin and banned. Also its very lame.

But yeah looks like more recoil control needed for M&K players which isn't much effort given some time to practice if new to it.

Without suppression it's incredibly difficult to deal with snipers to press forward onto the objective. Are there really people that don't want suppression of some sort in the game? That is so strange for a game that's about capturing points rather than K/D ratios.

New map is terrible. Another small map. At this point, I think I am going to pass and play the older BF games and see what happens. It really does fele like COD Ground War, which is not a good thing at all. I get it that you want to bring the ADHD COD players over, but there is no balance here.

Agreed, sometimes I feel like I get a direct hit and it barely scratches them. This one was even more satisfying, tracking his movement down the slope

I put an RPG in one of the small trailer buildings on that map that had 3 or 4 people capping and got assists when others killed them but that RPG hitting in that small room should have easily cleaned them out

At this point, the only explanation I can think of for not including one large map in the beta in place of a smaller map is that the large maps are not ready for prime time. I think they are running behind. It's possible the game was targeted to be released early next year and still within EA's fiscal year but is being pushed out earlier due to GTA 6's delay.

Cairo is indeed the best map currently, and whatever you think of it it's clear it got some heavy developer time—the level of detail is insane. Empire State on the other hand seems rushed—the level of detail is not the same, it's basically a construction zone.

I have been on the downed side of this

None of my controls worked and could not respawn or even back out of the match, had to restart my game on PS5

Or there aren't really any large maps.

Or they don't want to upset the playerbase so soon with a large map ...because the average BF player today doesn't realize you don't have to and shouldn't play flag merry go round in BF.

Firestorm is a large map, should of used that, since it was a fan favourite foe the bf community

I played with some friends during the first week of the beta and now we're playing again. I'm enjoying the game so far, but I don't think I'll buy it at launch. I'll probably wait for a sale.

With the 1080 Ti I managed to get a really good framerate (around 70fps), but only with everything set to low and FSR enabled, otherwise it would've been unplayable.

Everything in this game feels right, except the maps.

Straight up trying to steal CoDs crown by copying CoD.

The old maps will save us BF Bro's

Still torn on whether to play on PC or Ps5 Pro lol first world problems
I started the beta on PC, tried it on PS5 Pro on Performance mode on a 120 hertz OLED TV with the Tactical Brit's controller settings, and I haven't been back to PC. Can't believe I prefer to play a BF game on controller, but it's that good. Any graphical different between the PC and PS5 Pro is negligible to anyone not obsessed over IQ.

I'm choosing PC for a few reasons (over XSX). First off, I don't know how long I'm gonna be subbed to game pass and don't want to be tethered to that to play online mp games. Another is if I want to play kb/m I can, and if I end up liking controller better I can do that easily. I know kb/m is available for consoles but my setup just ain't gonna allow for that. Plus they dropped the requirement for the EA app so no double launcher bull shit. Lastly, it's just easier to tweak settings and chat and all that sort of stuff.
