So say we all.

EDIT: TMZ reporting he died of pancreatic cancer.

They're the only place that's reporting this since it popped up about 30-45 minutes ago. Have there been any other sources?

Some of the actors from the show and the composer have tweeted about it. Bear McCreary was the one that posted the link to it just minutes ago.

wonder if this is what Aaron Douglas tweeted about.

RIP Apollo

EJA and Bear McCreary tweeted it just now

He truly loved the show and did his best to keep it going for so long. Even if his restart didn't happen I'm glad he got part in the relaunched version and played a fantastic character, he appeared to have a ball with the role.

Damn, was holding out hope it was a hoax. :(

When Edward James Olmos goes, it is going to hit me hard.

He was great in the reboot. One of the many interesting and complex characters in the series.

He had a pretty fantastic arc in the reboot, and a satisfying exit.

I had the pleasure of meeting during the Battlestar reboot downtown. At the time I wasn't even aware that it was filming in Vancouver.

I introduced myself and shook his hand. He was quite friendly. I told him how much the original show meant to me. Just before I took my leave he said that he was up here to film an episode of the New Series. I beamed so hard, I had a great day.

Rest In Peace Apollo.

Damn. I actually worked with him briefly years ago on one of those little side projects he did. We never met, but we talked on the phone a few times. Really down to earth guy, sad to see him go.

RIP.

Moore's reboot of BSG was such an excellent tonic for how stale sci-fi TV had become. Without it we wouldn't have the very decent Dark Matter and The Expanse series.
