Moore's reboot of BSG was such an excellent tonic for how stale sci-fi TV had become. Without it we wouldn't have the very decent Dark Matter and The Expanse series.

Damn. I met him at Galacticon in Houston 3 years ago or so. Honestly, he was probably the nicest celebrity I've ever met, tied with Roddy Piper, who also died like 2 months after I met him at a Houston con as well. Hatch was a great host at the con, and unofficial spokesman of the franchise.

I remember his farewell address at the end of the con, where he talked about how much he cared for BSG, its fans and its importance, even tearing up. Like several of you said, very down to earth, humble and passionate man. He will be missed. So say we all.
