WB has no fucking clue what it's doing. Either Bale needs to be Batman in the same fucking universe in a believable way or they should scrap any type of Justice League type cross-overs and stick to their individual films.

Bale has already said about five trillion times that he's done with Batman. Man of Steel is the beginning of a new, cohesive universe for DC comics on-film. It's scraping Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern film (thankfully) and completely ignoring the Nolan Batman films.

This isn't like recasting the Hulk three times. Bale set the standard. Downey Jr. set the standard. You don't kick your quarterback off the team with an hour before game time........

Don't get the fuss, Affleck is a good actor and it's not like Christian Bale did a great job as Batman either (though his Bruce was okay).

I don't think he's an awful actor now. He's a far better director and I can see him playing Bruce, I just don't see an older Batman here at all.

What you talking about, he's a good actor. He just chose some roles... poorly.
Can you imagine him as Batman is another issue, but hey, they did cast Michael Keaton before.

Affleck is a damn good actor. People need to actually watch some current films. People bring up Daredevil but guess people. Affleck wasn't one of the bad things in that film. However the man has grown a lot as an actor and director over the last 10 years.

I have no problems with Ben as an actor. I just don't want him as Bruce Wayne. Sorry Ben. Nothing personal. If it was anyone else (West, Keaton, Kilmer, Clooney, Bale or ______), I and the internet would still not like it. And that's WBs fault.

The man can only act in things he directs. Watch literally any other movie he's been in in the past five years and he's still not good.

At first I was horrified but hey, he is a pretty damn good actor when e wants to be.

I'm just glad it's not Bale. That would have been a bigger mistake.

Now just give me a Batman like the comics and ill be happy.

He's a good actor, so I'm ok with this. I had my heart set on Karl Urban, though. Ben Affleck is still one of those actors who when I see him on screen, I think, "That's Ben Affleck!" Rather than, "That's Bruce Wayne!" Kind of breaks the illusion, I guess you could say.


Wasn't there a rumor that he was going to be in Star Wars, too?

Affleck is supposed to be the old grizzled veteran...he may not look like Frank Miller Batman, but he's supposed to veteran hero all the same.

The Nolan/Bale revisionism on this board is absurd, almost as bad as the "Burton/Keaton is god" crowd.

I'd actually be pumped if he was directing, maybe this might lead to him directing the next stand alone batman
