Two employees of mine just read this headline and said that it was definitely covered up for Clinton, that it should have been investigated more, and that scandal was barely publicized by the media, having received no attention whatsoever throughout the years.

While I am familiar with what happened and the ongoing witch hunt that ensued, does anyone have a reliable, concise breakdown of Benghazi and what the controversy was?

Please let this be over.

Actually there was some interesting points in that report

"A Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team sat on a plane in Spain for three hours, changing in and out of their uniforms four times." [pg. 154]

Apparently the state department didn't like the optics of having uniformed marines carrying weapons so they changed their mind on what uniform and weapons should be worn & carried. Ultimatley they never went anywhere.

that hillary clinton purposefully did not do anything to try and save the lives of the us personnel on the ground in benghazi and actually stymied attempts by our armed forces to get there. conspiracy theorists believe that this was to protect the obama administration and her bid for presidency. which is all bullshit.

i understand if they're claiming the administration was incompetent but this is the part i don't get - how would this help them?

Can't wait to hear Trump's excuse for this.

"The panel was handpicked by Obama!"

"What about the emails!"

"But Michael Bay made a movie about it. It must be true!"

Trey Gowdy being handpicked by Obama is so hilarious it hurts.

I don't think even Trump could sell that line of shit.

I guess it's all about presentation. When I read about the report this morning, the words 'lack' and 'failure of leadership was used' excessively, I assume because that's all they are going to get out of this.

The headlines around the internet I saw were "Panel found Hillary tried to shift blame to internet video"

Shit son, what's wrong with you? What does this have anything to do with how Benghazi happened?

The reporting i've seen for this is so shitty. They are basically reporting the opinions of the House committee members and ignoring the fact there is literally zero evidence in the report to support those opinions.

Oh I can write that script:

"See the Republicans in Congress just didn't want me to win so they concocted this whole thing and let Hillary off the hook so that you would vote for her instead of me. You know, they don't like me. I don't like them. They don't want to make America great again!"

They have to be fair to each individual perception that people may have of what actually happened. Let's say you were convinced that Clinton was directly responsible for those deaths, and someone told you that there was no evidence to warrant that belief. How would you resolve such a situation. Can you imagine.

Ben Ghazi is kill

I can't believe they're still adamant about attacking her with this despite completely botching that 11hr hearing not that long ago. Stop trying to make Benghazi happen, Gretchen.

It's very disrespectful, in my opinion.

The democrats should investigate this committee for fraud and abuse of the system.

Republicans shouldn't be able to get away with this stuff.

As with most things Clinton, where there's smoke there's no fire.

In fact, it wasn't Smoke at all. It was shit being flung so fast it just appeared opaque.

I was just listening to NPR, and that's exactly what happened! "The report says that Obama and Clinton hindered the response. Next story."

Yeah I just got a news pop-up on my phone that basically said "GOP - US administration failed to protect American lives in Benghazi"

Of course it was attributed to cnn

Your colleagues now think that everyone interviewed at the CIA, the Department of Defense, the Office of the Secretary of State, the US Embassies, and The White House, along with the Republicans who issued the report and the Democrats who issued the same conclusion, all colluded and duped everyone to protect Clinton?

Incredible

It feels like they've spent more time investigating the 4 people who died in Benghazi vs the thousands that died on US soil on 9/11.

So, when is the next panel being set up?

Surely we aren't accepting this conclusion!

That's because they have.
