Ehhh, kinda lost interest after finding out it's a souls like and not a character action game.

Also, a year of exclusivity. Launching as soon as the year is over.

Jez corden was already in shambles this day will never happen.

then the tools arrive (as well the the secret exclusivity delay with PlayStation ended)

it's not a Souls Like tho. no souls mechanic, no penalty on death. it's a super linear action RPG with a focus on bosses essentially.
I think they mean the flow of combat and the constant stream of bosses. Not literally Souls-like as in the Souls mechanic if you die and non-linearity.

Jez and Tassi were right all along.

Every conspiracy was actually right lol. The hidden deal after multiplat releases announced. No comment from Sony or the studio. No marketing because Nvidia had it just like I said. Making journalists and MS look like liars for a year. Unbelievable. So many people on here were so offended that MS basically just told the truth politely but didn't officially comment on a partner's deal with someone else.

Is it? I was somewhat interested in it but not into Souls games, yes it is because I suck at them. I just wanna chill and relax when gaming but glad those exist for all that enjoy them.

It's old and on a platform that is pretty dead. Should have put resources into a Switch 2 version that might actually sell.
??? Who says they aren't? Lot of assumptions there. They likely don't have Switch 2 dev kits yet or just very recently got them, since they'd be low priority as a dev who's never worked with Nintendo before.

And they've probably been ready with the Xbox version for ages and had to wait it out til the agreement expired.

Just because **you** don't care if it comes to Xbox doesn't mean millions of others don't. Other people exist.

I've been quoted earlier that it's more of an ARPG with boss focus, earlier when the game was new, I looked up some content and the videos etc I watched then called it a Souls-like, which is probably the main reason I've never gamefly'd it.

Tens of millions of people still play on Xbox Series consoles. Those potential sales matter more than your bitterness.

I don't think the flow of combat is especially souls-like tho. I don't think you'd call Avowed a Souls like even tho it essentially has the same combat mechanics as Dark Souls (Stamina, dodge, parry). the combat in Dark Souls isn't what makes it special, it's everything around the combat... the combat is the most generic part of Soulsborne games, and I feel WuKong differenciates itself there too, with how the special moves work for example... you don't have cooldown specials in typical Souls-Like games 🤷‍♂️

Guess it depends on how much effort it took, I think they should have focused on releasing on all other platforms at once in that case.

Maybe some companies are smart enough to get their sales on the platforms that sale software 1st than collect subscription money later.

Exactly one year later? Hmm, think I may be eating crow on this one.

Don't. The usual suspects are just jumping to conclusions despite prior contradictory evidence again.

It's one year later because they set that deadline and release date. It will probably be announced with addon stuff and possibly other platforms too that they worked on with that date in mind. Exclusivity deals are never "one year to the day" anyway, that's very rare.

Its the stupidest deal ever.. no marketing no hype no anything... just bizarre
I dont think it was a silly deal, the game had been getting a lot of hype online over the years (mostly about its graphics).
What i dont get is the secrecy behind this deal. I mean its noit like both Sony and MS havent done these kind of deals many times over the years.

You guys remember when Imran Khan also confirmed it?

Crazy how people who end up in cults think everything is a conspiracy.

one year exclusivity deals RARELY result in games coming out exactly 365 days later. In fact if a contract stipulated 365 days, the game likely would have come out a day later.

What's more likely is that they're using the same date to commemorate the original release.

For reference look at exclusivity deals with Square Enix and Sony, which came to PC like 11 months later. The same was true of Octopath Traveler going from Switch to PC.

Rise of the Tomb Raider another major exclusive also launched like 11 months later.
