Black Myth Wukong is finally on sale

that's the whole car.

Biggest deal was transmission work that's most of the parts and labor. His mechanic tightened up little stuff like seals and covers while he had it. Doing an oil change added more line items for oil and filter. Oh can't forget cabin air filter. "What a long list it's like the whole car"

He's lucky if half the bill was labor. So think 6-700 in car parts. Yeah it's not that much stuff. It's like enough to do a complete brake job on all 4 wheels. And then be out of money.

Key sites are not refundable though. You pay much less but you have to own your decision with no takebacks.

This way you have some optionality in case you don't like the game.
Steam doesn't really refund either.
Only if the game is widely recognised to be broken, else you can only play a couple hours which for a lot of games is basically only the intro.

That's more than enough to gauge performance on your rig or even whether you enjoy the gameplay or not without committing to a full $60 outlay.

The boss rush they added after launch is great, with improved version of a lot of bosses that desperately needed to be more challenging.

By default it was my goty i think. I enjoyed it more than Astrobot.

On Steam you need about 70% off to get my attention
This is going to be a Nintendo-like release imo. Their product kinda stands on its own and has unique things about it that you won't find anywhere else, so why should they dip super low super soon?

Still the best game release the past year.
Some of you couldn't recognize quality if it was sitting on your chest and taking a dump on you.

If it was the stellar blade chick taking a dump on my chest perhaps I'd allow it. Other than that, you're all just drinking the games kool-aid because you severely lacked good games back then. It's a generic action game with some cool Chinese influence.

I still haven't played Elden Ring, but I find the aesthetic and gameplay of this game more intriguing.

The fact that it didn't get a more substantial sale means there is some significant demand.

Stop being stupid. There was no kool-aid whatsoever.

There was a solid ass game with great visuals, excellent art and a staggering amount of unique boss battles, most of which extremely high in quality.

I've seen the full turds that some of you naysayers love to praise, on the other hand.

Congratulations, you like turds just as we do. Opinions are great no? The difference between you and me is that I called the game average, not a turd, while you called the games I play turds. Way to go ape man. Go back to your jungle.

It's not a great game when you actually look at it properly. It's basically one combo string the entire game, all the weapons are the same besides one that has slight differences. The stances only really change the power attack.
If the stances actually changed the entire moveset like Nioh, the game would instantly become a lot better.

The art was good, the first area was good, after that it significantly dropped in quality. Had to push myself to finish it, some cool moments in between but the actual gameplay is lacking and doesn't change too much. It's definitely a souls like despite people trying to say it's a character action title lol. Because i know DAMN well you're not saying this is in the same realm as Ninja Gaiden or DMC, even Bayonetta or MG:R.

I played the time trial on ps+. It's better than I expected. I thought it would be even more of a souls clone. Like same controls and what not. But it is actually different some.

I'm waiting til it's $30 or below. Too much to play.

The game is nothing like Souls - It would be trash if it was.

Its its own thing. With amazing visuals and literally hundreds of awesome bosses. GOTY 2024 easily

😆 did you really get past the first level?

Also, yeah it wipes the floor with any of the aforementioned games at the bottom of your post. Now Ninja Gaiden 3d was great, that was 20+ years ago and shows it age. While Rising and Bayonetta are good they are Platinum games that you can shoot through, no substance. Dmc generic action fodder, always has been.

For anyone considering getting this game, get it. It's seriously among the best. It still falls a tiny bit short compared to the absolute greats, such as Nioh. But no doubt that if Game Science just tweaks some minor stuff, it's going to be up there and possibly surpass the best of the best.
The things that it can do better are running speed, build variety, level design and performance optimization. If they can nail this with the DLC or their next games, it's going to blow people's minds.

Yes, I finished it, do I need to screenshot my steam to prove it?

The fact you say dmc is generic action fodder speaks volumes lol.

This on the same level as Lies of P?

No, game is good, level design is beautiful but it ultimately suffers terribly for being a boss rush, there's no connective tissue and time to breathe, the amount of bosses makes it impossible to even care about them, you're just want to move on to the next one.

Shit take. DMC's combat pisses all over BMW, which is just passable compared to a good character action game.

Much of this is true, but I enjoyed my time with Wukong. I give it a pass because it's the studio's first AAA effort and is halfway between an action RPG and character action game, so I wasn't expecting the combat to hang with the best of them.

It floats somewhere in between a soulslike and an action game. But in this case, being somewhat unique, it didn't really fit well with me. I liked the art.
And even if it looks pretty, it shouldn't run this terrible.

Dzab Dzab already explained very well why the gameplay just isn't all that interesting.

No, I don't care if you finished it, you weren't paying attention.

Regarding DMC. Flashy gameplay doesn't equal good gameplay in my opinion. It's just a bunch of combo counter bs with no real elegance or weight behind it. It's sloppy as hell.

Figures a manure connoisseur like you would dig this flaming turd.

Only kidding, haven't played it though have a small interest in doing so. I recently had my Souls fix with Shadow of thew Erdtree and I'll probably go with Lies of P next. Seems more universally liked.

I mean, you do care because you accused me of not getting out of the first area because I didn't like it lol.
What else is there to pay attention to? I beat the four Loongs too, I explored, I did enough.

My playthrough of the game doesn't count guys, I wasn't paying attention because I didn't love it and prefer it to every other game it tried to emulate.

Flashy gameplay is exactly what Wukong is. Nice art and scenery with some cool cutscenes. Spin the staff around with glowing effects etc. It's not a subjective opinion, the combat is not deep, not much variety, one real combo string, it's okay man.

I was very excited for Wukong, for years, I was still cautious. It disappointed BECAUSE it lacked the depth of other games. Some things it did really well in, most things it did not.

In my original response I highlighted two parts. The joke I made, I'm specifically speaking to the comment (which I even originally highlighted) you made below regarding after chapter 1.

"The art was good, the first area was good, after that it significantly dropped in quality."

There was no significant drop off of quality in art style that I could see after chapter 1. I don't know where that even comes from. There are great set pieces and amazing visuals throughout the game.

The only bad area in the game is the prison imo

That doesn't mean anything. "Sloppy as hell" for what reason? The i-frames are inconsistent? The controls are unresponsive? The hit detection is messed up?

I also find it comical how you mention the combat having no weight when Wukong is the biggest offender in that regard with people complaining (including me) they couldn't even tell whether their hits had registered or not because the hit feedback is so limp. Outside of finishers, the staff feels like you're slapping someone instead of bonking them with a blunt object.

As I said, I like Wukong. For a first effort, it's great. It has its fair share of problems and I hope the devs iron those out. However, shitting on DMC's combat and comparing unfavorably to Wukong is farcical.

It's not out for Xbox yet, but the preorder has a discount nonetheless. I'm just completely on the fence about this game. There are normal enemies to fight before boss fights, right? Or would you say it really is mostly boss fight: the game?

Yes, cameras movements, issues such as hitboxes and delayed hit detection.
