Bloodborne |OT+++| ...and so the Nightly Hunt continues

So, that Gatling gun guy...

I'm guessing hes always hostile if you fought him once, so is there a recommended way of beating him? I keep trying to knock him off the edge, but hes hell a fast and I can't seem to stagger him before he kills me. I'm thinking I may just need to level up a bit more before taking him, and that other hunter nearby, on.

Anyone else having problems co-oping right now? Trying to play with my buddy, both closed the app, reset our consoles, are within lvl range and nothing. Wasting insight to sit around with nothing happening, super frustrating.
Nope been doing coop with my friend this whole time and it's actually working for me :D try making the password with a numbers and letters?

Did you leave your PS4 on suspended before? If so reboot the game. It seems sometimes if you leave it on suspend and resume it messes with the network.

I posted this in the new Bloodborne players thread, but I thought I might get some good answers in here as well.

Okay GAF, I bit the bullet. I have Bloodborne in my possession and am going to pop my Dark/Demon/Bloodborne cherry here soon. I've tried to prepare myself a little by watching Twitch streamers and reading beginners "tips & tricks" as well as new Bloodborne player's survival guides online. So going in fresh, never having played any of these types of games before, any essential hints or helpful things I should know?

I'm reading it looks like the "Lone Survivor" class is the one I should start with because of the high endurance and other stats that are pretty balanced. However, it seems like the beginning weapon choice suggestions for newbies are all over the place! Some suggest the heavy axe (even though it is slow), others suggest the saw cleaver since it is like the good all around weapon, while I've still seen others say use the cane with the Lone Survivor class (but it doesn't really pack a punch). I see a lot of the twitch streamers I've watched go with the Heavy Axe, probably like 60% of them that I've seen. With the others using some broadsword I'm assuming you can access later on, and a very small portion using the cane. So I'm stuck at what I should choose, lol. GAF any recommendations here?

Currently shaking, teeth literally gritted

I did it. I beat Bloodborne and got the true ending. Sincerest thanks to everyone that helped me out. Really glad I stuck with this game. It was tough but it was wonderful.

It goes straight to NG+.

Ok, so now I'm not sure what to do regarding New Game plus.

I would say I'm probably close to the end, and reading this thread, I have probably missed 99.99999999999% of all optional content.

Do I go back and do that stuff? Do I just save it for NG+? What are some must thing stuff I should do?

1. Kill all the NPC's?

2. Chalice dungeons. What should I do with these?

3. Buy stuff before NG+?

4. Should I increase my levels a few times?

5. Kill all the optional bosses?

I honestly don't know what to do. Fuck. It feels really bad that I missed all this extra shit. I mean, I don't even get it. Like, where was this shit HIDDEN!?

Yeah, trying to make him fall is legitimate strategy, but that does take some skill to drive him into edge, and it does put you in risk of falling, too.
Other than that,
my best advice would be that his weapon, Stake Driver, is really short range, so maybe try to extend your weapon?

get the blunderbuss and blow him of the roof.

Asking again: If I was sent to the
Lecture Hall
after beating
Rom
are there other places I can go and how do I get there?

The cane is one of the better weapons of the game and using the whip mode regularly will certainly teach you to time your attacks and be wary of leaving yourself open. It has amazing range that when utilized makes a number of encounters completely trivial, even late game. But as a starting (and anti-boss) weapon the saw cleaver is easier, for sure. I've gone with that on my second playthrough and I'm having a much easier go of it, even accounting for my experience.

Haven't used the axe at all yet, though.

here's a trick:

as soon as you get up the ladder don't hesitate, run at him and do a jump roll as he's about to shoot you. Land in front of him and use the blunderbus gun non-stop on him. each hit will push him back a little bit. you can knock him off pretty easily this way.

Just beat the game. Masterpiece, and best game of this generation so far by a moonlight mile :)

Check out the Beginner's Guide info in the OP, super helpful. And I'd recommend going with the Lone Survivor origin, it has the highest starting Vitality of any class. The Axe can be hard hitting and stuns enemies with its charged attack, but I'd recommend being a bit quicker and going with the Saw Cleaver instead. It is quite versatile and a faster attack speed than the axe. You'll be able to purchase all the starting weapons fairly early into the game (even before facing your first boss, if you explore thoroughly for an item that allows you to do so).

The repeating pistol is really useful for this problem. That's how I knocked him off.

Do you think they'll ever add a respec thing like in a patch or whatever? Or is that completely out of the realm of possibility?

Is the multiplayer as messed up as it seems or is there just no one in the entire world playing in Unseen village right now ?

Are you familiar with the Lovecraftian concept of something so crazy that it drives you mad just by looking at it?

Yes, but that doesn't help me when I'm playing a videogame. :P

Is there something that causes it? Is it something I can avoid? Is it random?

I just beat Father G, so pretty early in the game.

Facing the Cathedral where you fought VA, go right and keep following the path. Not letting the Lesser Amygdala grab you.

So I'm through four bosses and one chalice dungeon. This game has basically revived my love of gaming that has been dead for like a year. I love everything about it. I just feel so much wonder and amazement playing this game. I...am so happy when I play it. I desire to play it, to start it up, to progress, in a way I haven't felt in so long. When I'm not playing it, I am wanting to play it. And when I'm playing it, I'm thinking about all the things I want to do. Hats off.

Welcome back Kev. Did the same for me

Finally beat R
om the bitch ass spider
. Bonus points - did it while I was over 100 miles away from my PS4...

It's avoidable, it's caused by certain things, and there are items you can equip/consume to mitigate it.

No, just the elevator shortcut from the lamp to the bridge

Nope. What you can do is sprint all the way till the end of the bridge without stopping. There's enough time before the trap triggers.

No np it there are
two
shortcuts that make it much closer.

Except the one that spawns when he dies, no. You found the elevator shortcut, right?

Thanks guys.

Yeah I got the elevator shortcut so it's not too bad but was wondering.

Beat the game with my new character. The final boss is so scary in his last phase. I couldn't have done it without Ludwig's. Seriously are it and the Hunter Axe the best weapons in the game? It's crazy how good their moveset is.

Congrats! What level were you at?

That's what Demon's Souls did for me originally. I kind of stopped playing games for a long time because I was busy. Then I lost all desire to go back and I couldn't get into anything after that hiatus. Then Demon's Souls came along and boom everything started tasting good again.

I'm leaning heavy on the saw cleaver with axe as my backup. The speed of the saw is the law. In NG+ I will get Ludwig's up to +9 and see how I like it.

Help GAF! I heard there are three items needed for the true ending. Are they missable? (Massive Spoilers)

I looked up online and found out I needed three, but there are four in the game. I killed Iosefka before Rom so she didn't drop hers, so I need to make sure I get the other three. One is dropped by a boss, another I need to go to an area for, so I'm sure I can get those two. I sent Arianna to the Cathedral Ward and she says she isn't feeling good.(also hear a vague baby cry) Do I just come back later for it? Also I sent this nun NPC I saw in Unseen Village to the Cathedral where she killed an old lady NPC, and I'm wondering if I should kill her to protect Arianna so I can get the item later.

So after I kill r
om
and the game tells me to
go find the baby. I have to go to the unseen village? Cause that place is f-ing me up right now.

Edit:
Also I can see a monster behind the door in isofekas clinic but I can't get back there.
