Does the game get better again after U

V

? Because that place was more annoying than anything.

Anyone else having problems co-oping right now? Trying to play with my buddy, both closed the app, reset our consoles, are within lvl range and nothing. Wasting insight to sit around with nothing happening, super frustrating.

So mini review from me now that it's completed, minus the chalice dungeon escapades. Speaking of which the boss I got on this third tier was Rom... this boss does not work in a confide room space. It's frustrating as hell. Ugh.

Mini Review---NO SPOILERS:

This game is a gem, and is somewhat hard to put into words. It's very much the Souls formula we've come to expect---learn boss patterns, risks, rewards, loose story, and interesting combat.

Let's hit the bullet points of what is great here:

*Combat is superb. It feels fresh without losing its core from the Souls game. These changes to losing the shield, speeding it up, emphasis on evasion, etc will make it impossible for me to go back to the old method. If there is a Dark Souls 3---count me out. Sword and board are history.

*Bosses are all fantastic. Some of the greatest variety of tactics can be employed, and they did NOT rehash bosses like say Dark Souls 1. This kept the game fresh the whole time, and simply riding on the bosses butt does NOT work like in Dark Souls.

*Regular foes kept challenge throughout the whole game. Fuck Mind Flayers, fuck bag men, and fuck the chain with giant sword dudes. You always had to be on your toes around these guys. While I'm at it---FUCK the bell ringing women later on who kept summoning dogs of hell on me. Lordy!

*Atmosphere...the atmosphere. As always Souls tops itself with its atmosphere. This world just oozes with it. From level design to music to NPCs, etc. Every corner has it, and it's a wonder how other games can't reach this level of immersion for its world you are put in.

*On the topic of music... the soundtrack is great, but I still prefer Dark Souls and Demon's Souls OST's. This has some good tracks, but not enough outstanding ones. Firelink Shrine, the final boss in Souls 1, etc I really enjoyed and will not forget anytime soon.

*Progression and mechanics here are not cumbersome, and are fine tuned. I always had this sense of something was coming next, and I could keep easing myself into whatever else was added on. Be it Arcane Tools or a new weapon to test out. Plus, I always kept changing up equipment where in Souls game I just felt the next set would probably beat my old set, and so I would ignore wearing previous outfits.

So where do negatives in this game lie? I guess my biggest gripes are minor other than the story which I felt was...not told well enough compared to past Souls attempts.

*Loading screens suck
*The bell ringing mechanics suck
*Chalice Dungeon grouping up? Sucks.

Those are my 3 biggest detractors other than the story which more over has to do with the ending options being...well trash. The "true" ending is one of the worst of any. I had to google to make sense of it, and was thoroughly disappointed. I did like the lore I read up on in game and online, but I felt in say Dark Souls 1 there was a more refined tale being told and if you paid moderate attention you could figure out who your character was in the grand scheme of things, and what you were doing within its world.

This game's lore, while fantastic from inspiration, is told so loosely that it's hard to have many people agreeing on major points anywhere. I sincerely hope there is an interview later with the developers to just tell me a few things to clear it up.

I didn't like ending 1 or ending 2 either. None of the 3 options felt satisfying. It was a lose-lose-lose...I wanted more.

----------------

So that's it. TL;DR Buy this game. 9/10 in my book. Fun from start to finish, but the endings could have been way better, or the lore more fleshed out to make sense of all three for the user without double guessing or having to hop online to understand it.

The big streamers seem to have agreed on 110 for the meta. But there's not that many people there yet. 70 is a pretty good level to invade at right now

Matchmaking is level based so you don't want to overlevel else you'll never find anyone

these games always have a huge population that goes to endless levels with their first char to try everything out. its just not full of as many 'honor' fights that the meta battles usually are

So I'm through four bosses and one chalice dungeon. This game has basically revived my love of gaming that has been dead for like a year. I love everything about it. I just feel so much wonder and amazement playing this game. I...am so happy when I play it. I desire to play it, to start it up, to progress, in a way I haven't felt in so long. When I'm not playing it, I am wanting to play it. And when I'm playing it, I'm thinking about all the things I want to do. Hats off.

I feel exactly the same and it's wonderful, though I also got that feeling from a few other games over the last few years (Mainly Bayonetta 2).

Bloodborne tells me that I'm not the reason so many blockbuster modern games cause a feeling of malaise in me, it's ubisoft/activision/whoever cranking out endless generic experiences.

According to the Wiki,
he is standing outside the Chatedral Ward, so i assume that you can kill him. You dont really lose out on much if the old woman die though. She just gives you sedatives, but those can also be bought at the Hunter's Dream shop.

Yea I found him... I'm trying to deal with him but he
turns into this annoying beast and the spot you fight with him isn't very comfortable, plus he's like a baby Paarl /:

Edit:
beat him, he dropped a beast rune that description reads "temp. Boost to transform +50"

idk with how huge the invasion penalties are i can't imagine bothering to invade without being at 50/40 to be anywhere near decent footing with the host.
It's a 30% penalty. I haven't found it that much too much of an issue so far, although I do invest a lot in hp

So I think I'm pretty close to the end of the game now, has From said anything recently about the glitch preventing the elevator from working properly near
Ebrietas
? I think I've just about run out of the other optional stuff to do and I'd like to give this a proper go before ending the game.

Aw yiss, OT4 already.

Meanwhile, in
Nightmare Frontier.

How do you teleport???

I've actually missed that NPC both in my first and second playthrough. If it wasnt for the Wiki, i probably wouldnt have known about him at all.

For a player with 35 Strength, 25 Skill, and only 8 Arcane, would you guys say max my Ludwig or my Axe? I know the Ludwig has a slightly higher max attack, but based on my stats, what would you guys recommend? I personally feel like the Axe's versatility, longer reach, and wider spanning attacks may be worth the slight drop in attack compared to the Ludwig, but I can't make up my mind. It all depends on how the weapons scale with stats and gemstones tbh.

I seriously can't stand blood vials. I wanna be able to fight a boss as many times as I want without having to quit to go get more vials. Unless I kick the boss's ass, I'm gonna fucking run out.

Finished my first playthrough, fairly thorough so took me 64 hours and change to get the "true" ending. Ended up around SL 105, so kinda OP but still took me a couple of tries on final boss thanks to him suprising me first time.

Very happy, the Demon's Souls spiritual successor I always wanted.

If you use the blood echoes rune(s) and far a lot of blood echoes, you can buy a max of 120 blood vials (20 in inventory and 100 in storage). The game will replenish blood vials and quick silver bullets automatically that are in the storage.

So I'm assuming once you beat the game, it kicks you straight into NG+? Or can you replay before the last boss?
It goes straight to NG+.

So there's this NPC I accidentally killed.
I thought he was a monster and I hit him and then he turned into this big werewolf thing.
I was forced to kill him. Did I fuck up?
Or was he a Hunter NPC
?

If you send him to the cathedral he will kill all the NPCs. You did good.

Ludwigs, you already got 25 points in skill, might as well go with Ludwigs at that point. I like the Axes Charged R2, but I love the weighty feel of Ludwigs in Greatsword mode.

Wait...So if you choose the option to turn off the hud even the menus are invisible!? WTF... How am I supposed to put it back on?

Edit: nvm... Guess it was a bug, they are back now.... This was weird.

Okay can someone help explain some of the gem stones to me I had one equipped that said HP +1 Continuous yet I do not think it even works.... Am I missing something?

Can you summon folks to the chalice dungeons? Been doing them for hours and it would be nice to have some company. Not even for help.

I'm curious: I never
Sent anyone to Iosefka's clinic
, especially after
finding out about... well, what happens there. Is there anyone that should be sent there, instead of chapel?

Well, I can get E
brietas
to 40% health consistently after about 8 tries, but sometimes it will stunlock me. Its arm swings have HUGE hitboxes too.

Is there a way to get back to the split path area after
Rom?
I ended up going to the
Nightmare Frontier
but don't feel like dealing with the boss and want to explore somewhere else. Any advice?
