Any chalice with a depth of lvl 4+.
Mob drops like 10-15k echos, and bosses are like 100k.

It's obvious that increasing the depth of a single chalice makes the dungeons harder, but what about different chalices? For example, is depth 1 of the Great Isz Chalice comparable to depth 1 of the Pthumerian Chalice? Or is it harder?

Ah ok cool. Is there like a GAF collection of chalice dungeon codes or am I better of searching reddit/gamefaqs/internet for them?

I do loops of the Lost Village, averaging about 50k echoes in 10 minutes. Start at the top, rush the bell maiden, kill all the affected mobs. Do that for each area, warp down to the bottom, take out the skeleton dog/mimic/whatever things, use the Advent Plaza lamp and repeat.
Thanks Johnny, I'll keep this in mind.

ok got my blood rock and my
upper cathedral
key, time for
cainhurst castle
then.

Decided to start my NG+ last night. At what point do you gain access to the doll? I beat the Cleric Beast but I still can't level up. I've got nearly 200k echoes so I'm getting a bit nervous.

Look for a ladder on the second floor first. A lot of people miss it.

That all sounds great, until, you know, the sparks start flying :p

I don't see how your tactic can be effective at all.

You best bet is to simply ignore the spiders and run to Rom. You can run right past the spiders and they won't be able to hit you. It's not until you stop next to Rom that you need to worry about where the spiders are.

Once things start getting hairy with all the projectile attacks, Rom will thrash about when you get close. Move in close enough to bait the thrashing, then back away quickly to avoid it. As soon as it stops, move back in and attack.

You basically need to look at the positioning of the spiders and figure out how long you have before they get to you once you hit Rom. You can always get at least one hit off, but with the right holes in their formation you can get 4 or more sometimes.

I want to say that you have to die in Yharnam in order to access it.

Thx, I'll do that. : )
So how is the cane holding up?

I'm sure it's been said a million times, but Cane is absolutely amazing if you're willing to invest effort into learning its move set, know where it can work and where it doesn't work in whip form. Dropping bosses like flies in NG+ with it.

Every weapon in this game is good it seems. That's why I have no issue with there being fewer of them in the game than in the Souls series -- they cut out the shit and feature only stuff you will WANT to upgrade, not feel forced into upgrading.

Soooooo, my stored bullets appear to be turning into molotov cocktails. I'm not complaining I suppose, but ... well it's odd.

Another thing, over the past three days, I haven't been summoned once. Is there something going on that I'm missing?

I thought you just needed 1 insight... on NG+ I'd figure you'd have that right away. You'd definitely have it after beating the Cleric Beast.

Have you been using suspend/resume? I've noticed that bugs out multiplayer. Try quitting and reloading the game. Also set your network settings to Worldwide instead of Local.

You just need to enter the Dream for the first time, exit and then come back. No need to beat any bosses.

I've had really bad luck with co-op. Tried with and without GAF password.

Just kill the spiders guys, it's going to make your lives a lot easier. It's going to take you an extra 5 minutes, but at the cost of not having to make a vial run or wait through load screens.

Dying works. Just let the very first enemy kill you so you'll be in no danger in getting your echoes back.

edit: Do what Johan suggests instead.

The stored bullets turning into Molotov cocktails is a glitch, I've seen someone post about it on GameFAQs a few days ago.

I'm currently using Cane, but I don't feel like I'm using it effectively. I don't enter Whip mode very often since the slower wind up often hurts me and it doesn't seem to give that much range (but I suspect that's just because I'm bad). Do you have any tips on using the cane? When it is best to use the whip and what are good times to switch mid combo? I find that anytime I try to do the switch attack I get hit during the change. Really slow switch.

k, question (true ending spoilers)

if i never told
arianne to go to odeons chapel

do you think i can still do that even after
the moon turns orange?

There are
four umbilical cords in the game, and you only need 3 to get the true ending. If you can't get the Arianna one, you can kill Iosefka to get one as well.

Two questions:

1. Someone told me today that (third boss spoilers)
Blood Starved Beast
was optional. What? I mean, I already beat him, but I thought killing him was necessary to get to the
Healing Church Workshop
?

2. I completely missed
Eileen the Crow
. Didn't even know that was a thing until I read it online. I just beat
BSB
and am working my way into the
Healing Church Workshop
. Am I too late to start this questline?

I could use her right when I first used the lantern. Weird.

Maybe R
om
was broken for me, but I managed to kill him on my second attempt. It took ten minutes though.

Here's how I managed:

I basically kept running around in circles around him while killing the baby spiders. Once he's down to 1 baby spider, I just ran up and started whaling away.

I had to kill off two waves of spiders. I you're constantly moving in one direction his bolt (or whatever) wasn't able to hit me.

When the spiders jump and impale themselves, you can one shot kill em.

Like I said it was tedious, but not really challenging.

lol, perfect

This game gets fucking impossible after Rom.
Like how is it even possible to beat those 3 hunters in the unseen village?

Ha. I did that yesterday and I wanted to break the game in half. FINALLY I did it by
just focusing on 1 at a time, even though all 3 go at you. Sneak up to the dude in the middle and get a backstab in, then focus him down fast, kite/run, whatever, you'll die but make sure he dies first. Then go back and do that again to another hunter, and finally the last one.

This game...

It has consumed too much of my time and mind share lately. It's so hard staying away from guides and the forum because I want to find everything. Such a great game!

To the people having trouble with the three hunters in
the unseen village. Just lure them all the way to the laser disco stairs and watch them burn. It takes 2 turns to get them killed. Just learn where it is safe to stand and enjoy the laser show!
Also BSB
keep a pillar between you and when he gets close, just counter his attack with the gun, works kinda every time. Back up after getting the visceral dmg and repeat the counter. Its easy even for me that could not riposte for shit in DS1 and 2. Oh, and bring antidotes, lots ;)

I beat Rom without hitting a single spider (aside from Rom himself, I mean).

Seriously, just zip in for a couple quick hits, then run away before anything can hit you.

I'm surprised people bother trying to fight the minions.
