I am having trouble finding someone to do vicar Amelia with. 2 days in a row of sitting out front and no one connects. Set to worldwide and everything.

Yep, seems like a good time to take a break from this game. After beating the S
hadows of Yharnam
and proceeding forward I was attacked by this
weird bug/tree like thing with all these eyes on its head.
I have no idea what I'm getting myself into here.

1 hour for me and still counting. I usually solo bosses, but I hate bosses that have other enemies around it. Gonna have to co-op rom.

You guys wanna do the password thing for rom battle? Maybe that will help.

The thing about rom though is
that his adds are defensive. They won't be aggressive unless you get close. Because of that it's a very easy fight. Move in until 1-2 guys come at you. Move back. When they get enough separation from the group, circle around them and hit them from behind. They'll die in like 1 hit. Repeat until all adds are dead, then circle around rom's side and hit him once or twice and retreat.

What?? Progression bugged?

Look for a ladder on the second floor first. A lot of people miss it.

That all sounds great, until, you know, the sparks start flying :p

I don't see how your tactic can be effective at all.

Defeated
Rom
and made it to
Yhargul Village
, not finding it as difficult as people have made out however Ive only made it to the
laser firing Cthulhu
so have I yet to meet its full horror?

k, question (true ending spoilers)

if i never told
arianne to go to odeons chapel

do you think i can still do that even after
the moon turns orange?

PVP is so good if you are aggressive.
All out brawl, dashing forward to prevent healing, you, me, now.

I love it.
No more stupid shit like hiding behind shield and rolling out of magic missiles.
BB, a true successor and better than any Souls game in every form.
You hit me, I hit back.

Someone on Reddit said (early/mid game) weapon
Ludwig's Holy Blade
does blunt damage. Game changer if true.

I've been maining it since a while now. Usually use the slower larger stronger L1 version. If you time attacks properly and you have it upgraded then you can get many many 1HK's.

I'm sure it was asked but this thread is moving at and incredible pace. At what level should I attempt chalice dungeon so that I won't get 1 shotted. I'm lvl 51 now and I only have 4 bosses down.

I killed him without taking a single point of damage using this strategy. His lasers from the sky won't hit you as long as you're constantly strafing. They will hit VERY close to you. If you keep strafing once they start landing you might run into them. But as soon as you see the first one land, you dash up to the baby spider that you're locked onto and use the process I described. You'll never get hit by the lasers this way. The arcane explosion that rom himself uses has a long windup time. Once all the babies are dead, lock onto rom and get close enough so he uses the explosion, then back up. As soon as it goes off, you dash in and get 3-4 hits and back out again.

Hunters
are by far the hardest non-boss enemies towards the end game. They are harder than some bosses. You need to learn their patterns and only attack when they are vulnerable and be patient because it may take time to whittle their health down.

By far the hardest "phantom-type" enemies in the series.

They're really smart, aggressive and the game forces to face them in groups at times.

They improved their AI a lot.

is tearing me a new one. It should be an easy fight: attack legs, make him collapse, etc. but I can't seem to do anything other than avoiding its swipes

He was kicking my fucking ass for a while, then something dawned on me and I just destroyed him:
Just parry him once and get a visceral hit. He'll keep retreating to recharge his electricity. Chase him down and don't let him, and just keep hitting him. He'll never get the charge back and you'll kill him easy.

You're already overleveled as it is for the normal game (I and a few buddies were in our upper 30's at your point). First chalice dungeon starts at like Cleric Beast difficulty.

....at layer one, anyways.

I've been saving all my material for my main trick weapon, since I haven't really found another one and I am not sure about upgrading the guns, is there any point to that? does it make parrying easier? or just increase the damage they deal? cause if it is the latter then I see no point in wasting the upgrade material

Where did you get a ton of echos? I've been farming
Nightmare of Mensis
and it isn't going as fast as I'd like it to. I've seen people mention chalice dungeons but which?

I do loops of the Lost Village, averaging about 50k echoes in 10 minutes. Start at the top, rush the bell maiden, kill all the affected mobs. Do that for each area, warp down to the bottom, take out the skeleton dog/mimic/whatever things, use the Advent Plaza lamp and repeat.
