Bomb of the Year

so far, MGS3 - but i'm little more than 4 hours in.

Ninja Gaiden was disappointing too (but perhaps it's because i'm teh suck?)
 
you know, i can't think of any. maybe everything turns out the way i expect it to. or i'm just too easy to please these days.
 
Phantom Brave. It's the only one I felt let down by. Everything else pretty much met my expectations or surpassed them.
 
The Twin Snakes was a surprise (considering all the bitching from N fans about a lack of an MGS on the GC) so that would be my choice but (unfortunate) the expected bomb would have to be Otogi 2.

Oh you mean dissapointment.... hmmmm none.
 
Plenty, unfortunately. Halo 2, Fable, Ninja Gaiden. Pretty much every huge Xbox exclusive, with the exception of Riddick. Also, I agree with whomever put PoP:WW. Complete Crap. If you enjoyed PoP:SoT as much as I did, do NOT buy PoP:WW. It will leave you with an extremely bitter aftertaste.

You know, Dcharlie, you just dissed my two favorite single player games for 2004 your taste in games is crap! :lol
 
Fable was a let down but it hasn't stopped me from playing through it again. (then again i think i was looking for the content)

I *DO* expect it to get better, as a lot of people whose opinions i'm usually in line with love it, but so far... it's deep in the valley of Meh, about to board a train to Letdown central. Actually, that's harsh...

It's still "Good" but after Half Life 2 it's just not cutting it as GOTY material for me - but as a few people have pointed out elsewhere, i need to get past where i'm at now.

I know the writtng is supposed to be cheesy (or is it...?) , but at the moment, my eyes are just doing loop the loops with every passing codec.

You must be in Operation Virtous mission still because once you reach Operation Snake Eater the codec messages are fairly sparse.
 
Doom 3. I never been so dissapointed by such an anticipated game. I was looking forward to it since the day John Carmack said they were starting to work on it.
 
Fable.

Zero exploration, short as hell, easy as pie and a horrible loading/playing ratio.

One of only two games I've returned this gen (GUNVALKYRIE being the other).

That's ten votes for Fable so far. Sorry, Peter.

yeah, just started the Operation Snake Eater - looked at some ass as well! ;)
 
In terms of a commercial bomb, nothing beats MGS:TTS.

For me, it was BioHazard Outbreak File 2. As I said before about this game, STAY FAR FAR AWAY.
 
i'd forgotten about doom 3. that game sucked. and i've really enjoyed all of id's previous single player games. shame they haven't learned anything since quake 2.
 
Wow some people either have some horrible taste in games or are way too harsh of critics.

They only game that came out this year that really disappointed me was that piece of trash called Driv3r.

Other than that there have been a ton of excellent game experiences this year.

I would also add this, but it would mostly be for reaction. Don't consider it a shitty game, but I couldn't motivate myself to play even halfway through it.
Enclave is better
