Yeah once I realized how great the sidequests are in this one I started doing as many as I could before advancing the story.I definitely recommend doing the sidequests. There are some great ones with cool locations and bosses
Im doing every sidequest and everything on the map that gives me some unlocks, like vehicle parts or upgrade pointsYeah once I realized how great the sidequests are in this one I started doing as many as I could before advancing the story.
This game will take you at least 80 hours to complete.Im doing every sidequest and everything on the map that gives me some unlocks, like vehicle parts or upgrade points
I know. Im 35 hours in and only 40% main story done and atleast 60% of the map are undiscoveredThis game will take you at least 80 hours to complete.![]()
Also i've heard the skill tree is better in BL4 than 3, so thats a big selling point for BL4.the problem with 3 is the Villains, Ava and the writing, everything else is great and the OST way better than 4 atm.
This is Borderlands... the game just started when you hit 50.Just hit lv 50 and I'll stop here until the story DLC starts coming out.
While grinding to max level I had a chance to go around doing all of the bunkers, drill sites, etc... on the world map and also got some very cool legendary gear.
I really enjoyed BL4 and the series absolutely has a bright future. I'm really looking forward to the DLCs since I really enjoyed both of the DLC episodes that I bought for BL3.
Vex is a beast at max level with all of the reapers flying around. She's my favorite Siren to play in the franchise so far.
My only complain so far is the lack of enemy variety.
Yeah, it's just rippers, order or animals. Or a combination of these.
You have a trans\they character in the first couple of hours and i'm pretty sure i did a sidequest where the umm core of a missile identify herself as they but maybe i heard wrong, it was late in the night...I was a huge fan of the franchise but lament the 'woke' elements introduced in the previous entry. How are things this time round? Is everyone still gay or is this more like Borderlands 1 or 2? Also, the humour was dreadful in the past game... as if the devs were terrified they might offend someone. Has that be remedied? Lay it on me.
What would you say it's better in bl3 other than ost and not being open world?i ll tell that atm i think BL3 is better than 4, even with the worse writing and i think the open world was a huge mistake imo.
These are the things that BL3 does better than BL4, all based on my opinion. What would you say it's better in bl3 other than ost and not being open world?
Just a question, i don't remember bl3 enough to disagree.
Yeah the enemies have less banter but i had one screaming "i just wanted a nipple" after i killed him that made me chuckle out loudThese are the things that BL3 does better than BL4, all based on my opinion.
- Gunplay feels better ( sound design, gun recoil, secondary modes )
- Way more enemies variety
- Funnier weapon and better variety ( RIP Atlas )
- Characters felt more interesting, Vex, Rafa, Amon and Horlowe feel kind generic to me with almost the same personality.
- Ost
- Open Zones
Also they tuned down enemies banter too much, Borderlands 3 felt like there was someone screaming something every time, this one feels almost dead some times.
Side note : this screenshot burned my retinas, I had no idea you could upload HDR images to NeoGaf![]()
Gamebreaking weapon.
Still using this at level 16
IMO it's better then all of them. Feels like a culmination of every Borderlands. It feels very Borderlands 1. Great atmosphere and exploration. And the campaign has some nice pacing and build up to their big boss fights. It's premature to give a full judgment until I complete the campaign myself but the lead in to fighting Idolator Sol was really good.I'm having a blast playing this one! Better than BL3 for sure!
That means something because i enjoy BL3 very much, i love the ragdoll system, many games don't make it right but in BL3 it's funI'm having a blast playing this one! Better than BL3 for sure!
Loving it.
30 hours in. Just bowling round the map, doing quests, getting loot.
The perfect casual FPS.
I booted up Borderlands 1 for the first time in at least 10 years and yep, BL4 just sucks. BL1 is such a better experience to me it's actually shocking.
- The menus are fast and responsive instead of bogged down by pointless animations.
- The game has separate sensitivity for analog sticks and mouse, so you can use mixed input with gyro aiming. How have we regressed on simple things like this? In what world should the sensitivity for tow completely different input options be the same?
- The core mechanics, aiming and shooting, feel much more satisfying and responsive, especially when playing with Frame Gen (who thought that was a good idea).
- Pretty much every gun you pick up is fun to shoot, compared to in BL4 where more often than not you get alien/sci-fi weapons, which Gearbox has completely failed to make satisfying.
- The characters and writing are both way more enjoyable and way less in your face. The amount of time BL4 asks you to spend waiting listening to characters talk (I'm looking at you Zadra) when those characters are extremely boring and cringey is just abysmal.
- The tone of the humorous, but somber wasteland has been completely lost in BL4.
When people saying "modern gaming sucks" (even though that is not true and there are great games coming out all the time), they should think of Borderlands 4. It's a game that is completely bogged down by modern trends/technologies and forgot what made the series great to begin with.

And? How many hours do you have in BL4 by now? And has your opinion changed?
And what ? he is a 100% correct about the tone of the game been better in BL1 and i ll extend this to BL2 and BL3.And? How many hours do you have in BL4 by now? And has your opinion changed?

I just reached the 40 hours in game, why ?
game is Borderlands good, i still think open world was a mistake, gunplay is better on BL3, Vault Hunter were more interesting to play on 3 too, Story/Writing is better on 4, if 3 didnt had awful story/writing would be a better game without a doubt. And nothing what, i just asked about your experience. I wasn't referring to him.
I see, sorry for bothering yougame is Borderlands good, i still think open world was a mistake, gunplay/funnier is better on BL3, Vault Hunter were more interesting to play on 3 too, Story/Writing is better on 4, overall, if 3 didnt had awful story/writing would be a better game without a doubt.
nah, no problem, Borderlands is one of my most beloved video game series, i m really critic about it.I see, sorry for bothering you, i was just curious about a veterans opinion on the game.
I like zooming on the bike. So much more maneuverability then the old vehicles. And Open World works here because of Vault Keys. It's very similar getting access to Oblivion Portals in Turok 2 to me. It would be perfect if Borderlands did a thing where each Vault had a piece of a Ultimate weapon you work for and have to build by clearing every Vault in the game.i still think open world was a mistake
Its how it will runAll the talk of technical issues had been keeping me away from this one, but I just bought it on Steam to give it a 2-hour trial run and so far, so good. I got through the "tutorial" mission and (obvious spoiler)
I've been doing some running around there, and it's sitting around 100-110 FPS on 1440p with DLSS Balanced with Frame Gen, on mostly High settings (on an i7-12700 and 4070 Super) with only a small amount of (tolerable) stuttering. Does the game get significantly more demanding later, or is this a pretty good indication of how things will run throughout (unpredictable crashes aside)?just met Claptrap on the beach.
This is the way!Im doing every sidequest and everything on the map that gives me some unlocks, like vehicle parts or upgrade points
5090FE/9800X3D users, did the patch fix the annoying Unreal Engine crashes that happened constantly?
Game seems fun, but my main complaint is I can't fucking play more than 10 min without crashing on a 5090FE/9800X3D. The patch from the other day did absolutely nothing for me in minimizing them. All Unreal Engine crash to desktop. I always send and close the reports too but if anyone has found a method that helped get rid of the crashing please let me know. I tried increasing the shader cache in the NV control panel but the game crashed when loading in lol so that didn't help.
