So I've watched all Netflix UK has for me up to this point (
when Hank finds Gail's book in Walt's toilet
) - am I fully up to date?

Yup.

And damn, what a cliffhanger!

Having watched though the whole series in the last half-year, that really hit me. And then, for the first time while watching BB, I have to wait. Argh!

Yeah buddy.

No need for spoiler tags when it is already aired.
Yeah I know, just didn't want to spoil it for anyone else that might have been playing catch up. :)

Looking forward to the next eight episodes. Hopefully Netflix UK don't make us wait too long!

Crammed it all into about six weeks. I never watch TV shows (the last one I watched with any regularity was ER), but I can't get enough of this in varying degrees (I miss the batshit insane moments of the first couple of series).

Oh, nice didn't realize the set was coming out so soon (I've gotten to used to HBO sets coming out right before the new season starts). Hopefully Netflix will put it up an US streaming relatively soon, I've been itching to rewatch.
I'm glad they're getting them out earlier this time. It gives people a little longer to catch up before the final run starts.

I understand the impulse to do that, but it just ends up confusing things, particularly as there are some small spoilers for S5.2 starting to appear. Thanks.

I'm re watching the series with my brother and mom. Yesterday we watched Crawl Space and everyone kept saying it's one of the best pieces of television made but I didn't think to much of it. After watching it again I fully agree. It's tense, the expressions are great, it's awesome.

There's a bigger version here, but his site is getting hammered at the moment.

Also, Conan O'Brien riffing on how Breaking Bad should end for EW's print edition:
In EW’s Summer Must List issue, we asked three celebrity fans — Conan O’Brien, Elizabeth Banks, and Adam Scott — to indulge us by imagining the ending of the show. What follows is the slightly expanded version of O’Brien’s vision, which combines a shocking transformation, a cross-species alliance, some great literature, a little murder and… well, scroll down to read it:
We all know that Gus Fring didn’t die — he crawled to safety and, using Los Pollos Hermanos chicken batter, reconstructed his face. With his partner Mike dead, Chicken Face Fring teams with the tortoise carrying the severed head. Together, this unlikely pair murder Hank as he sits on a toilet, searching for more clues in the complete works of Emily Dickinson. They kill Jesse at the groundbreaking of his “Yo Bitch” Frozen Yogurt for Women shop, while Walt escapes and flees to a remote Caribbean island where he beats cancer, only to be eaten by a shark with cancer. Fring and the Head-Tortoise inherit the car wash, marry, and you can follow their mishaps in the Breaking Bad spin-off Tortuga and Me.

Thinking of doing a series rewatch before the end. 54 episodes, 71 days to go, so there's enough time to do 1 ep/day and still have some room for busy days. Is anyone else?

Sounds fun. I'll probably pick and choose a few episodes from each season depending on what I have time for. I wonder when they're going to start re-running previous seasons.

I'm assuming most of you guys have seen this video already, but for those that haven't. It's Lego: Breaking Bad. It has spoilers from seasons 1-4, not 5.

Posted before, but it's rad and worth a look for anyone that missed it the first time around.

I too have already done one recently, while I was making this...

I tweeted it to the Breaking Bad account last night and woke to find it had gone viral, I think the sites back up now but it went from having absolutely no traffic to getting pummelled.

I didn't know you were a GAFer! It's a cool piece of work, and I'm glad you're getting some recognition for it.

Thanks, I've been a lurker here for years, so I decided to become a member too. The piece was a lot of fun to make, and "research" for.

Fucking hell, it pisses me off that I'm gonna be able to see only 4 episodes of S5P2 and then I will be out of Internet/TV for like 3 months and THEN I'll be able to finally see what happens.

If this was released on June/July, it would have been perfect!

I want to order this t-shirt (in lemon, or perhaps one of the tri colours), but I'm not sure what size to order. Does anyone have any experience with these? I usually wear a small (I'm wearing a small Superdry t-shirt at the moment, and their website lists small as 36"), but I wonder if that small (34-36") might be a little too small.

UK based, so would rather not mess it up.

EDIT: What the hell, ordered the lemon. :)

- Entertainment Tonight: Behind Breaking Bad's Great Train Heist (short video)
Breaking Bad went Wild West in season five when Jesse (Aaron Paul), along with Walt (Bryan Cranston) and Todd (Jesse Plemons), plotted an elaborate train robbery in an effort to fix their methylamine supply problem. With the Breaking Bad: Season Five Blu-ray and DVD out June 4, we have an exclusive clip from the bonus features showing just how the production pulled off the cinematic sequence near Santa Fe.

I finished Season 5 Part 1 last night after running through the whole lot over a couple of months. LOVED it overall. I seem to be slightly against the grain though in that on the whole I probably preferred Season 2 and 5:1 to 3 and 4. Making Gus such an integral part of the thing for so long made the show for a long while a sort of Walt vs. Gus show. And this undermines the best moments from 1 and 2 being Walt and Jessie going it alone. Making them cogs in a much bigger operation for so long changed the dynamic in a way I didn't enjoy quite so much. When you do this, you lose the potential for episodes like the wonderful one from Season 2 when they're suck in the desert alone.

I think this is why 5 for me is back up with 2.

Does anyone else really fancy Marie? She's got just the right level of craziness.

High five! I completely agree and for the exact same reasons. Gus was great but after the Season 3 Finale I figured they would wrap up his part in the story fairly early on in S4, instead it went on for the whole season. Thought it was really weird after S4 when people were questioning how the show could even go on without Gus, like he was the central antagonist of the entire series.

Just finished episode 11 (season 4). I can't even comprehend what happened. Walt had the perfect opportunity to finally be safe, him and his family when Gus fired him and told him to never show his face again, basically leaving him alone.

And Walt just up and throws it back in his face? And now they all can get capped. Are you kidding me? Terrible writing.

Something tells me you missed the part where Gus was going to kill Hank.

Also, GTFO of this thread! You only have 10 episodes to get completely caught up. :)

Some of the best television ever filmed. I don't think you were paying attention to everything that happened. Gus flat out said he was going to kill Hank. Even if Walt were okay with Hank dying (which I don't think he was at the time), the investigation into his death could easily have opened threads on Heisenberg. Not to mention I highly doubt Walt wants to keep his family in a town where a homicidal drug lord is watching him and is ready to murder him for the slightest wrong move.

Anyone know when AMC will be replaying the first half of the season, or if Comcast plans on throwing it up On Demand? I convinced my parents to finally watch the show after it aired, and it would suck if they were unable to finish it out when it comes back on this summer.
