Would it be so hard for Walt to explain the Gale connection?

"We're chemists and he helped me some when I was still teaching at the high school, but I cut off contact after he seemed a bit obsessed with me. I didn't bring it up during the investigation because I was internally conflicted and didn't know anything concrete."
I guess, but didn't Walt at one point outright say he didn't know Gale? So he would have at the very least been impeding the investigation, which Hank could still get him in trouble for. I could even see Hank continuing to investigate after that out of curiosity. We'll see how it plays.

Whoa awesome.

Fuck this show man lol. I was tense the entire episode. The one year wait will be painful. I say we create RTTP Threads for Season 1 to 5 part 1 until the next. I know I'll be watching all the episodes before next Summer.

I wasn't able to watch the episode until very early this morning, but I just went back and read all the posts in here from last night. Man, the obvious things people miss... A suggestion: For the final eight episodes, skip posting on GAF at the same time and actually watch them — I promise you'll enjoy it more!

I thought the episode was excellent, and one of the best of the first eight (if not the best outright). It may have been one of the best-directed episodes of the entire series — Michelle MacLaren is a master. I had thought that the season so far had been lacking in the time-lapse and POV shots that they do so well, but this episode alone made up for that, ha. Beautiful stuff.

I thoroughly enjoyed your long list of obvious things people missed.

Took me a while to read through it though.

Sorry we can't all be as good at watching TV as you are, sir vatstep

Don't forget Hank is on thin ice with his department for continuing with the Fring case. That has to come into play next year as he tries to pursue Walt.

Ha, okay, that comment probably came off as snootier than I meant it to. It's just that I'm continuously blown away by the attention to detail of this show; it's easy for me to miss things (both little easter eggs and more significant plot points alike) if I look away for even a moment. The show is like a finely-crafted dark chocolate bar and it's almost over, damn it! Taking it for granted would be a crime.

Skylar's divorce lawyer from Season 3 (or was it 2?). She knows the details and is an unresolved loose end.

That's an interesting point, actually, but I don't think Walt actually knew about her did he? Even if he did he certainly wouldn't know what Skylar and her had discussed.

Remember when Jesse called Todd "Ricky Hitler"? Well, he does have connection to Nazis, so uh, good job kid.

EDIT: lol at "uncharacteristically careless". Walt is like the king of carelessness.

I don't think Todd is going to be a problem for Walt. His uncle might be, but Todd strikes me as a loyal guy. I think shit will go down between Walt and Lydia for sure though.

Man...this wait is going to be REALLY annoying. I was day-dreaming about the mid-season finale before I fell asleep. I do wish Hank found out about Walt a bit differently, but I can live with this. But I cannot think of a different way (at the moment).

Very interesting ineed...

[quote="Fry8, post: 41710738"]One of the best scenes from last season, easily. I'm glad it held such importance in the end.

Agreed. That's actually the only episode of that season I actively rewatched not too long after the first viewing. Partly because of the major tom music video, but also because I loved his performance there so much.

You could literally feel Walt's pain. Those were the days he actually felt something for his actions.

There was an article about how Walt keeps a memento, often a food characteristic, from the deaths he feels responsible for. I can't find the article, which is a shame, because I can't remember all things mentioned. Anyhow:
  • He cuts the crust off his sandwiches, ala Krazy 8.
  • He keeps the eyeball of the bear from the plane crash.
  • He keeps the Leaves of Grass gift from Gale.
  • He affects the demeanor of Gus.
  • He takes his drinks on the rocks, ala Mike.
There was a food item for Tuco and a few others as well. But the most exciting one was a theory:
  • In the season 5 opener, he takes on the maiden name of Skyler and arranges his birthday bacon just the way she did.

How much money did Walt give Jesse?

Presumably the $5M he owed.

He kept it in a drawer in his bedroom (as seen in S05E03).

We don't know who moved it to the bathroom.
I can see it now: Walt going wife beater apeshit when he finds out she moved it there. That'll be twice she's severely fucked up.

What if Walt realizes Hank found the book and knows. Will he try and kill Hank?
No doubt. Only if he can't get himself out of it some other way of course..

Damn...

So the wait is going to EXACTLY one year right?

That spoiler-ed theory is... damn, pretty good. I wish I hadn't read it. :(
