BritGAF |OT6| Dark Souls? More like Arse Holes

Jackben

bitch I'm taking calls.
I don't think Souls fans get to make this joke any more
Maybe dark souls 2, but 1 was vastly different from demons and from what I've seen and heard of bloodborne it doesn't share a huge amount of semblance to others unless you count difficulty and punishment mechanics.

Bloodborne is pretty good. I really like the new mechanic that rewards an aggressive play style. It's still a Souls-ass Souls game though, only its blight town all the time

Wait, what?

As much as I like the Souls games, navigating Blighttown is one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had playing a game. Just an aimless mess of fumbling around in the dark on seemingly randomly placed wooden planks, annoying enemies and awful frame rates. Couldn't wait to be done with the place.

Elaborate please!

Edit: thanks Lou, good to hear!

Almost time for new Theroux.

His staff have just posted an update on Facebook:

We thought you might like to know how the patients from the first episode of 'By Reason of Insanity' are doing now...
William is doing well. He has his own apartment and has joined the congregation of a small local church - he'll be giving a sermon there in a couple of Sunday's time. Three weeks ago he also passed his driving theory test and now has his provisional licence. He's planning to book some driving lessons and if all goes well will be hitting the open road again soon. His regime of medication has been changed which has reduced some of the shaking hand side effects that he had.
Jonathan went for a second opinion evaluation by clinicians outside of the hospital, who agreed that he was ready for level five movement. On February 19th he had his court hearing to decide on the increase in movement and is now waiting for the judge to make his decision. In the meantime he has started an educational online course, taught by U.C. Berkley, called ‘The Science of Happiness’.
Eric remains on the same movement level. He continues to enjoy his work on the patient work programme, and maintains a positive attitude.
Judith has the same delusions and her treatment team continue to do all they can to help her.
Corey has his court hearing for conditional release in May. In the meantime he is making the most of the programmes the hospital offers and enjoying his unsupervised trips to the library and AA meetings.

Only in terms of performance thankfully(?) it just feels really choppy and that's combined with awful load times.

Oh right. Yeah, I can deal with that I suppose! I think they're patching the load times and the framerate is apparently only really bad when playing multiplayer which I don't do in Souls games anyway.

I am Bloodborne and Bloodborne is me.

It's choppy at times, but only in isolated instances.

There are just a few of these instances.

Urghhhh I don't really want to play it offline since the bloodstaines and messages are the best part. I know they've talked about the load times and trying to patch the performance but I really hope that comes sooner rather than later.

Do you think the stock checker on CeX is an accurate representation of how shit people from certain towns are at games? There's only one copy of Bloodborne in stock in most stores around the country, but in Liverpool stores there's more than twelve.

So, people from Liverpool are shittier at games than people from everywhere else? CONFIRMED.

[insert the obvious joke here]

Northerners like to think they can do hard things but when Bloodborne hit they all went back into their mines with their canaries like a bunch of pussy cats.

Shelved Bloodborne to wait for the patch, I like these games but not enough to put up with this garbage, even the tiniest of improvements would help. Fortunately I also got Resident Evil Revelations 2 and it's pretty good. Raid Mode especially.

Yeah, the loading times are killing me, and I've begun noticing a few dips in framerate. I'll put it off until FROM release a patch. I have a huge backlog I could work through, anyway, so I'm not short of games to play. Just gotta decide which one to attempt - Far Cry 4, Dying Light, DmC, Valiant Hearts, Injustice, or the entire first season of The Walking Dead.

anyone on hear been playing life is strange? be interested in people's opinions of it.
Personally, I love it. Each episode takes about an hour to complete, maybe longer if you take your time to investigate everything. The visuals are simple, really, but still pretty enough to admire, and work for the type of game it is. It plays a lot like Telltale's games, but with LiS, you have the ability to reverse time if you wish, and change your previous choice, though this is not always an option. It deals with some quite mature themes, which I give it a lot of respect for. I highly recommend it.

yeah i have the first episode and i am really enjoying it. it seems to be a refreshing change theme-wise to almost every other game out and it plays a hell of a lot smoother than telltale's shambling heaps of junk.

War Peaceman

You're a big guy.
Cyst's are everchanging so that is a big downer. Plus they are always changing from shit to a different kind of shit.

Jackben's new one doesn't feel right.

In other news Bloodborne is pretty good. They've made some smart changes and clearly put a lot of thought into the design elements. It all feels very deliberate and respects you as a player. The weapon design is sublime, especially the threaded cane <3

Loading times aren't even what are killing Bloodborne for me, it's bullshit bosses that are doing that.

The first four (give or take depending on optional bosses) are really good, I thought. Very fair. Unless you take a certain something above a certain threshold if you get my drift.

show me your skeleton/banofy's are my favourites
Shorty's is a great one-two punch with his tag
Reknoc's is probably my least favourite

bitch I'm taking calls.
My favorite is either Jonathan's or Cheezmo's old anonymous chippy mask one. Oh also lunchbox had a hotline Miami one last I checked, that is awesome.

And I agree with vcassano, I should switch back to the shopkeeper from Link's Awakening.

Dat last week at work feel. Congrats man!

Doing nothing on your last week is expected. Make the most of it!

What did everyone get up to on the weekend? I make £40 out of a £5 at the casino. STARTED FROM THE BOTTOM NOW WE'RE HERE.

Didn't end up seeing Princes Kaguya unfortunately though I did finally manage to play that P.T demo on the PS4 and successfully managed to shit my pants and nearly break a PS4 controller by throwing it at a mate of mine.

I do not handle jumpy/scary games well, I still haven't completed Resi 4 because I can't do it by myself..... life is hard.
