Very ballsy speech, this is what people expected of May and she delivered. No access to single market is mandatory of course, the whole process of leaving the EU would be pointless otherwise. It's the perfect springboard to turn GB into a global trading power.

by not making a good deal with their closest partner the EU?

ahahahahahah

lol "wider world"

She's just talking to her base, who she obviously thinks are idiots. There's a reason your closest neighbours are your most important trade partners. There's a practicality there.

By getting inferior access to the largest Market on Earth?

"It's not the means that matter it's the ends"

What a load of rubbish this speech is.

A plan is the means. What May has given us is her goals.

Wants a partial, extra special deal for the Customs Union. aka we made Nissan a promise we can't afford help us out EU.

What is she on about with scientists and research?

We've lost since the brexit some of out biggest companies to outside nations. Bit too ffing late.

Didn't some one say, it takes minutes to destroy a country, but decades to build one back up? (something along those lines).

What makes her think she can get a nice trade deal with Trump? He wants to put 25% tariffs on German cars FFS
Some interview with micheal gove full of non answers and misinformation (take in all the refugees).

Yup. Corbyn is a joke. Still boggles the mind that he hasn't been replaced by someone competent yet.
They tried and they had Owen Smith.

Members love Corbin but the electorate and the parties MPs don't.

And of course Labour have no clue what they want so there is no opposition to this insanity. The only thing May cares about is pleasing the bloody Daily Mail.

So UK wants to trade with EU but doesn't want to contribute? Wants to be a global nation but doesn't want those immigrants?

Here's an advanced look into British negotiations with its new friends in thee future:

-We would like to set out a new trade deal with (COUNTRY)
+Okay, first let's talk about relaxing those visa requirements
-Uhhhhhhh

But she also wants Britain to have tariff-free access to EU markets.

She says she wants a customs agreement with the EU. That could mean partial membership of the customs union. How this happens in practice can be decided, she says.

I am sure this is exactly how the EU will see the issue.

She is talking like she is in a position of power: this is insane.

So, uh, does the electorate not care that you need visas to live and work in the EU without a free movement agreement? So no retiring in Spain anymore, old people.

I really, really want to know what is going to happen to the British automotive industry once the button is pushed.
