Even if you did that, others behavior would still impact you. Even if you locked yoruself away in extreme isolation for the rest of your life, you are never alone.
I completely agree (isolation in a concept), I just live a simple enough life that understands I have around 80 years then I'm out.
And even still if something seismic were to happen to me in my life... That's life.
I am Bombolone in 2020 living a comfortable, urban, gluttonous life.
Tomorrow I could wake up with Russia dropping bombs overhead.
At that point, I am Bombolone on a Monday with bombs and destruction. Do I live? Do I die?
For people like the man in the video, he is similar to the others he cares enough to take down. Liberal, Conservative, Republican, Democrat, Progressive, Fascist, Communist, Capitalist. Everyone has their opinion on how the world should work.
Can I intellectually say other systems would produce more favorable outcomes for a certain group? Certainly. Can I intellectually align myself with a shared understanding of what is moral/amoral to do that? Of course.
But in the end I see it as all the same.
What drives him and others is the 'idea' of their vision for the world being the one in the drivers seat. How could it not? Once you are dead you don't get to have those feelings of this world anymore.
Say he gets what he wants, and the very moment he keels over, a switch is flipped and it reverts back to something he fought his entire being to change. What do you say to that? A life wasted? Futile? Ego?
Human beings and virtue. I get it, and I would never get in the way of a virtuous deed. I guess personally I have made my peace. Not that I hope it works or doesn't work.
My father throughout my lifetime has asked me if I believe in God. Why I don't. Now he only asks that whether or not, just enjoy the ride.
